Your brain has resistance towards starting the particular project in the way that you've previously conceived of it. Instead of fighting that resistance, try to change your approach to starting your work. Ie, start with colored pencils on a piece you were doing in gouache, include a new stitch in a crochet piece, Step one: identify the process Step two: identify places where something new can be included Step three: brainstorm new options to fill these spots Step four: select one or more options and try your piece from this new angle

encourage yourself by asking questions start with: "What am I actually trying to do right now?" then try: "What would this look like if it were more fun?" "How would I do it if anything was possible?"

divide into discrete tasks make the closest or shiniest one literally as small & specific as freaking possible

we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)

I will say that I, for one, have what seems to strike others as an eerily high tolerance for AI nonsense—I don't mind if people use it for art/writing, I'm easily amused by chatbots, I've developed a very thick skin about all the end-of-the-world prognoses—and I still can't think of a way I would appreciate museums using AI. If someone had their AI-generated art displayed in an exhibit I wouldn't mind, because I find most mediums interesting and a museum hosting bad art is not exactly a breaking news story to me, but if we're talking about labeling or organizing something, that concerns me, because to my knowledge LLMs tend to just not be very good at that sort of thing. It would be about as concerning as if I were told that the museum had decided to rip up its floors and do new pathing based on RNG "just to see whether it works out better." Why on Earth would you assume that it would?!

i'm a big sucker for a diegetic piece of art/literature serving as a mirror to the story's characters, so naturally the illustration of the poem about a silverleaf tree falling in love with a star from chapter 47 of WHA *had* to be redrawn as Qifrey and Oru ✨🍃
