Your monthly friend hangouts all synced up so now you have all of your social events within the same week

Hanging out with autistic friends is the best. You can ask them about their special interests and they’ll give you the coolest, fun fact filled monologue ever

Having a parallel play hangout where you each have your own video games and occasionally exclaim to one another when something cool happens

Oh god, please don’t celebrate me and please don’t throw me a party. Just text me “good job!” or “happy occasion!” with a funny gif. I promise that’s all I need to know I’m appreciated

When your friends understand that you have limited social capacity and that you still love them even if it’s been a few months since you’ve last hung out together

Apologizing unnecessarily when asking for something since that usually gives you the interaction of least resistance

Staying up late because you enjoy knowing there likely are not many awake people in close proximity, which means your chances of socialization decrease by the minute

Your well meaning friends keep checking in on you but that just stresses you out more since you have to take the time to tell them how you are. You adore them but will go to them when you’re ready

There comes a certain point in the day where I must be left alone or I will figuratively combust. I reach my limit.

I personally try to focus on the parts that I feel most comfortable with, remembering to take breathers if I need them. I try my best not to get too caught up in the idea there’s tons of people around me because I tend to get too nervous and less functional if I do that. For example, if I was in a crowded shop I’d focus extra on finding what I need. If I channel my energy into my objective I have less need to worry too much about the many people nearby, they become secondary to what I need to do in a way. This also helps me effectively leave the store faster. If I’m at a party with friends I’d concentrate most on hanging out with them, if I find myself getting more comfortable with those nearby that’s great! But it’s not required! It’s nice to also remember you aren’t required to talk to everyone and you don’t have to be bffs with every person you meet. That at least takes a lot of the pressure off for me. Please stop trying to hang out with me more than once a week, I’m not that fun. I won’t have enough new life lore for you between that time and the previous time to fill a whole hangout
