"After wrapping Guardians of the Galaxy I was very homesick and I was coming home to my wife and my son, who at the time was 13 months old. My wife told me ‘Hey, listen there’s a chance he may not recognize you and he may be a little shy’ and so I came in there, and he just sat right up and had this big smile on his face. He started saying ‘Daddy, daddy, daddy!’ and I just started to cry. He saw the tears in my eyes and started doing bits to make me laugh and that just made me cry more."

I was told that no one would ever love me, that I could never get married because of my weight.  

My husband and I will have been together for over 10 years and married for more than 5 years this August.

I was told I couldn’t travel abroad because of my weight.

My husband and I visited the UK in 2008 and had a marvelous time- overseas seats are actually more roomy than domestic flights, even in coach.

I was told that I would never be able to have children unless I lost weight, and that I certainly could not have healthy children or a vaginal birth.

I gave birth to two beautiful and healthy daughters, both naturally, with very little tearing or damage, and the second was 100% medication free (I got to the hospital too late).

I was told that my creativity would never be accepted unless I was also “attractive” (ie: thin) enough.

I still play piano, compose music, write regularly, create jewelry (that people love), draw, make costumes for various events, etc ANYWAY.

I was told that I could never find anything in my size that would look cute or attractive on me.

So I found things that DID look cute and attractive, and I bought the hell out of them (also, custom stuff on Etsy is <3).

I was told that I was “too fat” to cosplay.

I DID IT ANYWAY.
