your doorbell rung and you knew exactly who it was. your eyes drift over to the clock on the wall, 7:30- hollis was here to pick you up. he had asked you to prom a few weeks ago with a beautiful sign with your favorite song.

you finished your makeup and hair before grabbing a small purse and stepping into your heels. you gently pull your bedroom door shut and walk downstairs to find hollis quietly talking with your little brother.

when he spots you, you swear you see hearts in his eyes. his voice comes out shaky yet full of love, “h-holy shit babe- you look- you look beautiful.”

a smile tugs at your lips and you smooth out your dress and watch as he stands infront of you. your hands come up to straighten his bow tie and you speak, “you look handsome holli.”

his face heats up slightly at your words and he gives you a lopsided smile before gently taking your waist and bringing you to his car.

when you both get into the car hollis reaches into the backseat to pull out a bouquet. he watches a bright smile break onto your features and he speaks, “I remember you saying you liked flowers a few weeks ago.. I hope they’re the right ones.”

you quickly grab his face to kiss his cheek leaving a bright red mark, “hollis they’re beautiful thank you.”

by the time you two arrive the dance had already started, you make your way in to find hollis’ best friend nate and his younger sister.

the four of you stay together for the majority of the night before you drag hollis over to the photographer. you make him take a few photos with you and for the final one hollis decides he hasn’t kissed you enough tonight.

he gently takes your waist and dips you before pressing his lips to yours like they do in movies. you pull away laughing softly and trying to wipe your lipstick off of his face. hollis swats at your hand and shakes his head, “jus’ leave it babe- im not worried.”

you smile and shrug before taking your phone out to check your makeup, “hollis! you kissed my lipstick off of me?”

hollis smiles at you and doesn’t even pay mind to what you said, he’s watching the way the dim lighting makes you look beautiful in every way, he gently grabs your cheek and presses a soft kiss to your lips, “you look beautiful anyways.”

you stare at him for a moment before smiling sheepishly, “I- thank you holl”

he tucks your hair behind your ear and speaks softly, “of course sweetheart.”
