• You were sitting by your bedroom window, waiting impatiently
• The dim street lights did no justice as you stared out. The clock ticking seemed to be getting slower and slower
• Did he get caught by his parents?
• Did he change his mind?
• You eventually shook off those thoughts as you saw Connor’s black car pull up in front of your house
• Taking a deep breath, you taped a note saying : “I’ve run away, please don’t look for me. I’ll be in touch. -y/n.” onto your door. your parents would probably won’t even care that you’re gone, as they call you a mistake every single day.
• Grabbing your suitcase and bags, you leave through the window and jog to Connor’s car
• He helps you put all your bags into the trunk and then looks at you, his eyes staring straight into yours
• “Are you sure you want to do this? with me?” he bit his bottom lip, “I don’t want you to fuck up your entire life for me.”
• You cut him off by tilting your head and giving him a kiss, immediately his arms wrapped around your waist, tugging you closer
• “You are my entire life, Con, and right now, there’s nothing else I’d rather be doing. Now let’s get the hell out of this run down town.”
• Connor nodded and you both hopped into the car, him immediately speeding away
• You were free from the life you were living, and starting anew with Connor
• You drive for god knows how many days, until you reach Massachusetts
• You didn’t know where your apartment was, Connor had sorted all the details out himself
• He pulled up to a small fancy looking apartment complex and looked at you, smiling, “we’re home.”
• As you got out of the car; Connor began talking, “I already bought us a bed and sofa and stuff like that, all we have to do is decorate to make it feel more homey.”
• You didn’t know if it was the sleep deprivation, or overwhelming excitement/happiness, but your eyes watered and you turned and wrapped your arms around Connor, pressing your face against his chest
• “I love you so much, Connor,”
• This boy was nearly about to start crying too because not only was he moving in with the love of his life, but you showed him so much love that no one has before
• After a few weeks, you and Connor had settled in quite nicely. You started decorating the living room and bedroom, with pictures, fairy lights, curtains, carpets, all that fun stuff
• There was never a boring day in the apartment
• You and Connor would blast music and dance around the living room
• You’d stay up until 3am watching any genre of movie; you’d literally start with disney and end with a horror movie
• Endless cuddles, endless kisses, endless hugs
• You and Connor had both agreed on not having sex until marriage – but that doesn’t mean you didn’t do other things
• Living with Connor was to say a dream come true, you were both happier than you’ve ever been
• “Connor, you finished the milk again!” you whined, putting down your mug, “I wanted coffee.”
• Letting out a yawn, Connor trudged out of your bedroom and came up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist, “I’ll go buy some later, baby, come back to bed please.”
• You turned to see his sleepy face, and obviously couldn’t resist
• There were moments where you missed your friends, and Connor missed Evan, Alana. Zoe, and Jared
• You had kept in touch with all of them but it still kind of sucked not seeing them
• Connor’s birthday was coming up and he was turning twenty
• You had texted the four and planned a surprise party of some sort while Connor was out grocery shopping
• “Y/N I’m hom-“ “SURPRISE!”
• The light’s switched on and Evan was holding a cake, Jared and Zoe holding gift bags, Alana holding a box of pizza
• Connor had nearly dropped all of the bags
• “Happy Birthday Con!” you smiled, “you old man!”
• When the reality set in, Connor put down the bags and ran to you, pulling you into a tight hug, spinning you around
• “You planned all this? for me?” you nodded, “thank you so much.” he kissed you, smiling against your lips. You could hear Zoe gagging behind you
• Connor made his way around, hugged Zoe, side hugged Evan, and gave a little fist bump hand shake thing to Jared
• “Come on! Let’s party!” Zoe cheered
• The six of you ate a shit ton of junk food: pizza, takeout, sandwiches, ice cream, cake, candy, popcorn
• You played video games, watched movies, you and Connor showed the rest of them around town, and you all spent like three hours in a cat cafe
• For half of his life, he spent his birthdays alone, smoking weed, drinking alcohol, and being miserable
• Then you came into his life and everything turned upside down, or rather, right side up
• Zoe, Evan, Alana, and Jared stayed in Massachusetts for the weekend, leaving Sunday night
• You and Connor drove them to the airport
• “Bye guys,” he hugged them all goodbye, “thanks so much for coming.”
• “Don’t get lost Connor,” Zoe reminded, “keep in touch, and visit sometimes.” Connor nodded and pulled her into a tight hug
• And to think a few years ago Connor would vomit at the thought of hugging his sister
• Once you and Connor returned back to your apartment he swept you into his arms bridal style
• “How on earth did I get so lucky?”
• You let out a laugh, wrapping your arms around his neck, “Connor, put me down before you drop me!”
• You spun around and carried you to the bedroom, gently dropping you onto the bed and crawling in besides you
• “By far the best birthday weekend I’ve ever had,” he sad sincerely, “I can’t believe you did all this for me.”
• “I’d walk over burning coal for you,” you admitted, “you mean the world to me Con.”
• He smiled over at you, “running away was one of our best decisions, I think. Every day is a new adventure with you.”
• “You’re so cheesy,” you roll over, and flop onto of Connor, wrapping your limbs around him, like a koala, “I love you, you dork.”
• “Love you too,” he hugged you tight, as if it were the last time
• To make the apartment more lively you and Connor eventually got a kitten, since the apartment had a strict no dog policy
• It was a small, fluffy siamese, that you two named Skippy, after your favorite child books ‘Skippyjon Jones’
• Connor always claimed he was a dog person but he absolutely loved Skippy
• When in the living room watching movies, Skippy was always curled up in Connor’s lap, purring as Connor would gently carress his little head
• You can bet that Connor got one of those toys where feathers were attached to a string on a stick – to which he would make Skippy jump to get it
• And at night, Skippy would curl up at the end of your bed by your feet
• “Hey babe,” you ask, “do you ever think of visiting our old town someday?”
• “Sometimes,” Connor chews his bottom lip, “I feel bad sometimes, leaving the way I did. My mom and dad, it was just so sudden.”
• “Because I bought us tickets to fly back next week,”
• “I can return them! I just-“
• “No! thank you,” he gave you a weak lopsided smile, “it’ll be nice to go back so you can see all your old friends and I can talk to my parents.”
• Cynthia cried when she saw Connor, especially seeing him with a smile on his face – she ran and hugged him, Connor hesitantly hugged her back
• “You just disappeared with hardly a note, I was so worried!”
• “Yeah… sorry about that,” Connor awkwardly said, “Y/N and I have a place down in Massachusetts.”
• The next few days were fun, every night you had dinner over at the Murphy’s; Zoe was thrilled to have you over
• Connor even rekindled his relationship with Larry
• You got to see all your friends, Evan, Jared, and Alana included
• Before you left to go back, Cynthia stopped Connor. “Are you happy? In Massachusetts, with her?”
• Connor’s eyes softened and he gently squeezed Cynthia in a hug, “The happiest I’ve ever been.”
