Klienbeck headcanons…perchance….
hi not exactly my playing field but i’ve dribble the ball a time or two: 5 kleinbeck headcanons requested by @grav33yard
- they originally were not at all fond of each other, but through the connor project and study session, they naturally grew closer. alana is very strict about her schedules and does not like people being late. jared, who did not care about studying but was pushed by his parents to start doing it more, agreed to join her studying sessions just because he felt he could focus better if it was in an environment and around people who were in the study zone (if you will). he originally wasn’t very concious of being on time, he showed up late or sometimes left early because he didn’t enjoy studying. but as he and alana grew closer, he found himself subconsciously rushing to be on time and trying to drag out the session longer.
- because they are both stubborn and very stuck on doing things how they like it, picking dates is hard for them in the way that they want to pick something the other likes but having soemthing passive aggressive to say about it becuase they really don’t want to do it. so they have to compromise on stuff like going to the movies (jared) but then the movie they see is a history documentary (alana). or like, going over to jared’s house with the idea to play video games, but then they really just end up with jared playing by himself and alana reading one the few books he owns
- they aren’t codependent. i believe jared and alana are two very separate and independent who don’t necessarily need to be attached at the hip 24/7 to feel secure in their relationship. they do however rely heavily on each others (and other peoples) validation. they’re evidently both lonely in the musical (or book) and search for validation and confidence in the opinions of their peers. so while they can go days without hanging out or door get too worried if the other doesn’t text back right away, they do get passive aggressive with each other if a compliment or some form of affirmation isn’t given often.
- they aren’t allowed to have sleepovers do to alana’s parents being very strict. so with the ability to drive, jared pushes he limit as far as he can, promising alana’s parents that he’ll drive home after they go to bed and he won’t stay the night. they haven’t ever caught him still there in the morning, but that’s because he always leaves right before they wake up
- they don’t use pet names for each other because they told each other they think it’s cringe. but in actuality, they both deem themselves to have too much dignity to have the conversation about which name the other prefers because it felt too awkward. they don’t ever get to that conversation, but eventually they would slip it into text messages back and forth without having the balls to actually say it out loud to each other when they were together
