#writing update

Hey, my devilish hunters, how are you all doing?

I know I disappeared for a while, but I had good reasons to.

Making it short: 1 - my aunt has cancer and me + my mom are the two people helping her and my grandma, who live together; 2 - my grandma had an accident and I was there to help 100% while she recovers; 3 - in the meanwhile, I had to do my medical check-ups and something new appeared, I'm in this limbo of "will I have to go through surgery?"

I still don't know if I'll have to go through surgery eventually, and I was hoping by now I'd have a better answer to tell you guys if I'd have to disappear for the rest of the year - but all my medical check-ups are horribly inconclusive and I'm as lost as you all are.

I'll update Nemesis and post as many short ones as I can this year, but I can't guarantee anything (seriously, I hate this inconclusive limbo as much as you guys do). I'll probably be quite inconsistent at answering all your comments and messages, but I'll do my best.

I don’t know who actually reads these posts but just in case I wanted to drop a little update for anyone who’s checking up on JTOEL.

I’ve gotten back home to the states from my international vacation, but unfortunately I will have a huuuge workload to catch up on for school in the next few days in order to make deadlines. This does mean that JTOEL is sadly not my first priority when it comes to exerting my energy and finding time in my schedule.

The first ten chapters flowed out of me so quickly it was insane, but as we come up on some of the more tricky parts to write that progress has slowed significantly even outside of my busy schedule. Updates should become weekly or bi-weekly again in the future, but for now as I try to navigate all the work I have to do with planning out the next few story beats in a way that’s satisfying and quality enough for my standards, things are likely going to stall significantly for the remainder of July.

I thank everyone who’s stuck with me through this tumultuous little period of my existence, and who have been ever so patient with me and my extremely shitty editing. The edit for existing JTOEL chapters should be done by the end of August at the latest.

All of that being said: I have been noodling around with a couple of short funny/cute ideas I might try to write to blow off some steam or just because they’re coming easily to me. If I do end up with the energy and time to write them, please do not feel like JTOEL is being abandoned or dropped in favor of something else. It’s not. I have untreated ADHD and sometimes I just have to follow where the plot bunnies lead me.
