Im confused by the sentence structure here

Does "whatever that is" refering to who the choseon one is or to whatever the sacravice they made was?

I assumed it ment to say whatever the sacravice was, becouse it makes more sense to me

To begin with, from The art of Sky Gallery we know, that the Elders/realms are associated with certain narative ideas:

Isle - Wisdom

Prairie - empathy

Forest - Resiliance

Valley - Exelance

Wasteland - Courage

Vault - Faith

And the Ruler has been assigned Sacrafice

We as children of the light are result of Rulers Sacravice

We know of no other sacrafice, as far as I can tell. Therefore I don't see other option, then the Ruller being the Chosen One

The title of chosen one, liekly comes from them being destined for ruling by passing prophesy trails in their youth

I guess the devs simply use those titles as the replacement for the King Resh and Prince Alef from concept art. Especialy as they abandoned naming any Elder and characters by specific names

Going by that deduction, Winged lights are pices of the Ruller light/soul, most of them are posed looking up at the sky (with few exeptions)

In trailers The Dawn Ember (aka chosen one) Has few sceans when they reach out to the sky, and seams to be quiet fascinated by the light creatures flying

The Ruler is also the only Ancestor we ever see flying or levitating, most likely thanks to the use of Darkstone technology

If you bought memory projector or found one in shared space, in post credit interview it is point out that the Ruler is no longer facing their people, they're facing the crystal, the source of their power

All that said, it leads me to speculate, that they always had the dream of flying since childhood

(Humanities oldest Dream, huh)

This is all speculation, but perhaps that dream comes from having originally fallen from the sky, they simply have a natuarl yearning for it

Darkstone became the invention that finally made that dream possible, as well as advance the technology of the ancestors society

However, the darkstone is very light consuming, excessive use of it disrupted the natural Light cycle. Cousing natural dissaster in form of darkstorms

As Light became scarcer, conflict spread throughout the kingdom, erupting in a civil war.

Dark storms became neverending until they consumed every realm, and at some point Dark dragons seamed to escape their contaiment from treasure reef.

By Dusk Ember's lifetime, Light had become so scarce that it was used almost exclusively for survival and defense

Im pretty sure there was this scean somewhere with subtaitals, where Dawn seamingly was thanking Dusk? I have no evidence for that thou

At first, I couldn't understand why Dawn and Dusk are depicted together in some of the promotional material

They never meet during the movie

The whole point is that Dusk abandons their vengance, and turns back to people to give them remaining candles they made

The post-credit interview states that Dusk creates the first candle in centuries, by this point, candle-making had become a forgotten craft

Instead of taking Light through Darkstone, Dusk creates and shares Light freely, they are likely the only reson they have candles in the Vault

Dusk brought back the traditions that had once allowed civilization to thrive, more importantly, Dusk reminded people that Light was meant to be shared

Whether Dawn and Dusk ever met personally, the Ruler must have recognized what Dusk had accomplished, rememinding them of purpose they had lost sight of

And then there is this interview from September 8, 2023 that kinda spells this out

Take it with a grain of salt, the interview is old, and they say in it themselfs that certain plot aspects has changed over time, the info here may be no longer fully true

Now this part is when Im at compleat loss of directions, I have no idea how or what the final sacravice looked like

What does it have to do with Eden?

How did that lead to both creation of Sky kids and the Cataclysm?

My best guess is that the Ruler attempted to release the Light trapped inside the crystal in order to undo the damage caused by Darkstone.

Instead, the attempt triggered the an explosion

Regardless of how exactly the sacrifice happened, we know its results:

— The Cataclysm

(I could be wrong about that one)

— The Winged Lights

— The Children of the Light

If Winged Lights are fragments of the Rule's Light that never returned to the cycle

Could the light that return to the cycle, in the moment of final sacravice, be the future Child of Light?

Then as we gather them and return them through Eden, they rejoin that cycle and eventually become new Sky Children?

The main reason I believe this is because, whenever we lose all of our own Light, even outside of Eden, we always seem to discover one final Winged Light in that Limbo space??

(Dreamy/Limbo space is another topic altogether)

I also saw this moment drawn in some sky artbook online, with the addytional text going something like: "The light has always been with you"

I couldnt find it again :/

To some degree, the ancestors knew that the sacrafice would result in return of Light, in the form of person, so its not acidental at the very least
