Honestly I wish I had a partner system but I struggle to maintain contact unless the other helps. Plus I’d feel stressed trying to balance a relationship with multiple alters. I’d feel so nervous that some alters would dislike me. Plus dating online is dang near impossible, idk how I’d even find a partner system.

This week, I offer some more wildflower! Specifically, Volt and Eddie's meeting, based off of Conway Twitty's Tight Fittin' Jeans
I love having an AU I can throw reasonably any country song at and find a way for it to stick (mostly, but this is fun! I heard Tight Fittin' Jeans and my mind immediately screamed wildflower!Volt and who would I be to deny it?)
The boots gave it away. Really, the whole outfit did, and Eddie didn't know where to look first. So he blamed the boots. But really, they were too… polished. Not to mention made out of some expensive-looking leather - stingray? - that practically glittered in the cozy lowlight of the Tipsy Tumbler. Faded denim jacket and jeans to match that could fool anyone at first glance, but closer look showed that the outfit was tailored. Drawn in to fit his physique perfectly, clinging to his thighs and shoulders in a way that accentuated them. The pearl snaps on the shirt underneath shone nearly as bright as the leather of his boots, and Eddie rolled his eyes a little, turning back towards the bar, curling his hand around the rocks glass on his coaster.
Volt's boots are based off these by Moonshine Spirit, from an off-handed comment by one of my close friends while I was perusing Boot Barn to buy a new pair of work boots. It fit too well with the theme of Tight Fittin' Jeans too, so I worked it in haha
Exploring this has given me more of a glimpse at the boys' backgrounds in wildflower too! I've decided that Eddie was a ranch hand on the ranch (that Beau & Gaia currently own and pass to Nib later on) before his bull wreck - he lives on the ranch in some lodging Beau and Gaia offer to their hands if they need/want it, but moves in with Volt after his wreck so Volt can help him through his recovery
(Side note, tumblr has made it hard to write "Tipsy Tumbler" without going "ah, I spelled that wrong")

obsessed with the way that gothic horror is about horror but never directly. it’s not horrific because there’s a haunted house and that’s scary, it’s horrific because the monster inside isn’t a monster, it’s your grief, your loss, your pride, your desire, your fear. the monster skulking in the shadows, the darkness at the edge of the woods, the haunted house that is too broken to be a home—those are manifestations of events that grabbed onto the fabric of time in a fit of abject horror and clamped down so tightly that they couldn’t keep moving forward toward resolution and eventual dissipation like they were supposed to. it’s all about the scared child and the mourning mother and the hunger in your gut and the little emptiness in your chest at the end of the day. those things are all little horrors but you can’t approach them directly to understand them, so gothic horror gives us these little metaphors and says “here play with these for a while and see what you find.” and all of those metaphors need someone to go back to childhood to release them. you have to care, and be curious and clever, and look for a way to heal the hurt. you have to be so achingly human to survive in gothic horror
