We got rid of the idea of having a host a few years ago, largely because it played into some really hurtful power dynamics in here. Turns out that thinking of one guy as the Default in external life is a great way to reinforce any hierarchies in your brain around that guy. And if that guy tends to try to grab as much control as possible, even to the detriment of everyone else...
Maybe it works for some folks (good for them!), but it didn't help us. So we dropped it. You can too, if you want. There are fewer rules than you think there are.
hey, i started questioning if i might be part of a system, and i have a question- how do you differentiate between potential headmates' voices and auditory hallucinations? sorry if this isn't a good question to ask /gen i just have experiences w auditory hallucinations and want to understand ways i can differentiate
auditory hallucinations sound like they're coming from outside your head, but for a lot of systems, headmates' voices come from inside their heads. Hope that helps!

Plurality - Are you plural? What ways does plurality affect your identity?
๐โโฌ โ Hi! We are a system, and as a result, our identity is an annoying, overly complex mess. To say the least. We are multicollective (I know polyplex means the same thing, but we prefer multicollective for ourselves), and that makes identity weird. We have a whole-collective sort of collective identity and specific systems inside the collective have their own collective identities.
๐โโฌ โ Our collective identity is a paradoxical nightmare. We are Null but also Infinite. We see ourselves in Everything and Nothing. That's the best approximation of it. We consider ourselves multiple systems in one body, and we cannot conceptualize ourselves as Parts of a Whole. Though we do recognize that we are all (for better & for worse) in the same body.

Orientation - Talk about your orientation/attraction! What is it? Does it feel or work a certain way?
๐โโฌ โ i'm aroacespec and bi (sapphillean specifically). yes, at the same time. it's basically that i don't actually know how to tell if i experience romantic and/or sexual attraction (though i am aceflux). also! i experience research attraction and noetic attraction frequently. which i then confuse for platonic attraction. i'm not opposed to befriending my subjects of attraction, and i can experience platonic attraction. however for me, i enjoy learning about others, especially the way they think or experience the world, particularly those who are different from me. though that also comes with the fear of being a creep, because i am aware that most others may not respond positively to the fact that one of my ideal relationships is learning everything (or as much as i can) about another.

i think given how complicated our system is, we realized that host & co-host labels are no longer helpful for us. because who is "hosting" is so determinant on 1) which system is fronting and 2) life events that at this point, we decided it'll do us better to just throw the labels out for ourselves.

Alterhumanity - are you alterhuman? how does this affect your life and identity?
๐ฐ โ we are collectively nonhuman, but I specifically am a pokemon! pokemon does play a large role in my identity, but it's moreso due to my (semi-periodic) fixation on pokemon as a franchise, rather than alterhumanity. honestly it doesn't affect me too much on its own, outside of the fact that i don't want to be called human (and even person is sometimes pushing it. depends on my mood, really).
๐ โ so funny story. i'm a love goddess + demon. also i'm aroace and completely romance averse. i'm also a demigirl, partially a girl + partially xenine. i'd say maaaaybe i'm amourine, but also maybe meriline. or both! both's good too. still figuring it out tbh.
