Your Simple Girl Living For A Mighty God

I’m beautiful, gals and guys.

I mean have you seen my eyes?

They’re quite blueish green prize.

Not to mention my hair,

with its red auburn flair,

unique, gorgeously rare.

My skin is pale,

Snow White in a modern tale!

My complexion almost like a veil.

I’m beautiful girls and boys,

until you look at the world and hear it’s noise.

See, there;s one thing that apparently leaves me lacking poise.

While I’m not very tall,

I am also not very small,

and apparently that’s one giant curve ball.

Society says beauty is dependent on weight,

and we have fallen for the bait.

Don’t believe me? Just wait.

I’ve fallen prey, ladies and gents,

so, let me give you my two cents

and show you what society presents.

See, more often than not the girl on tv,

the one who ends up looking like me, 

isn’t anyone I want to be. 

Let’s not forget about about Photoshop,

which makes all women feel like slop.

In real like you can’t just magically crop.

Oh and of course the classic filter, 

which loses the unwanted stuff like a sifter,

so we can get more likes on Instagram and Twitter.

It’s all a giant and problematic mess,

all were doing is causing self-image stress. 

Every single woman, just trying to impress.

But take away society’s view,

And let me tell you something I already knew:

I’m really beautiful, honestly its true.

While I can go on about my appearance,

which looks really pretty without societal interference, 

I’d be lacking the point of all this perseverance. 

See, beauty is not what society deems hot. 

Weight doesn’t make someone beautiful or not,

nor do their looks unlike what we’ve all been taught.

Beauty comes from inside, 

not from human stride,

but from being Christ’s bride.

So, I’m beautiful, I’ll stand and say.

I will not longer be a victim, you can’t make me sway.

Do you ever just feel like nobody gets you?

Like, nobody understands how much you do and how much you care. It's like you literally poor your heart and your soul into people. You give 120% all of the time for every small and insignificant matter and people will say thank you but it's just in passing. It's like thank you is expected and it is not really meant. Do you ever feel like you just don't matter. Like nobody would actually care if you were gone. Like life would just keep going and going and nobody would notice your absence until one flicker of a moment when they need you again. And then they realize something is missing. but they don't really know what. Your help to them was so insignificant and taken for granted that they don't even remember that it's you. You are what's missing. All they realize is that the kindness is gone. The help is gone.

Do you ever just sit and wonder what others think. It's like you realize you did something wrong or stupid, or someone tells you that you did something wrong. Then that is when your whole entire world crashes. No matter how much you care and no matter how much you put in to people you can still be human. You can still be a jerk. You can still suck. So then you're angry. Not for being told you are wrong, but that you needed to be told you were wrong. Because you should pick up on it. You should realize that you were being stupid or mean or rude. So then you feel like that's all anyone looks back on. That's what people will remember. They'll remember the moment you spoke to soon or spoke to bitter. They'll remember the moment you forgot about an important thing or the moment you looked immature or looked like an idiot. And that is all they will see. 

And you want to say something. No, you want to scream something. You want them all to realize how much you do and how much love you give them all but you don't want to make it obvious. You don't even really want to be thanked. You just want to be loved the same way you love others. You want someone to appreciate you the way you appreciate others. But you can't tell them because you don't them to do because you want them to do it. So then you put up walls. You put up brick after brick after brick. You put on your smile and you say everything is wonderful and beautiful. You lie. Because you don't want them to feel sorry for you.
