percabeth as a slowburn
a lot of people think show!percabeth is moving too fast because they so visibly like each other, but percabeth wasn't a slowburn because they didnt like each other for the first 3 books. in fact, their whole trope is "everyone can see it but them". more on that later though
it was a slowburn because their circumstances never allowed them to fully process or act on anything they were feeling. i know we all love to joke about how oblivious the two of them are, but neither of them can fully admit to themselves what they're feeling because they simply dont have time to be regular teenagers. for the entirety of the series, annabeth is trying her best not to get attached to percy because she knows about the great prophecy and thinks that he has 30 minutes to live. their relationship is so much more complicated than "they clearly like each other why dont they just kiss"
I don't think we'll get it but I want the first thing Thalia does when she gets out of the tree is give Annabeth a gigantic hug
