Me: *treats this like a conversation opener and lists out the reasons that I don’t want a dog*

I don’t have the time to give a dog the attention that it needs. I’m a very busy person who’s rarely home. Cats sleep a lot and can entertain themselves when you’re away.

Dogs try to lick your face and that grosses me out

Dogs are pretty gross in general. They like to play in the dirt and need to be bathed regularly

Big dogs can knock you over and seem dangerous to have around children. Also I prefer having a pet I can easily cuddle with without being pinned down by it.

Little dogs have a lot of energy and are likely to bite

Most dogs I’ve come across have kinda rough fur. Cats usually have very soft fur and if they’re hairless they’re nice and smooth

Dogs are too needy and extroverted. I’m an introvert and prefer a pet whose social needs are similar to mine

Cats generally groom/bathe themselves and require very little in terms of training. A week or two teaching your kitten to be polite is usually enough. Litter boxes are also pretty easy to take care of and you don’t have to let your pet out in the middle of the night so they can pee

Cats purr and make you feel special because you’ve earned their trust enough for them to feel totally at peace around you.

The ASL version is a bit of an experiment and if there are low views, they may not continue offering ASL options for movies.

Watching it at least once will show Max that having multiple accessible options is needed, and they will continue to offer this!

Well I was turned away from every single one in the area because I was a non Christian trans person. Not that there were many I could make the walk to, to be fair.

I was homeless in winter. And yeah, sure, I knew how to use pine needles to make tea and boil bark but. Come on. You think every homeless person has that fucking knowledge or resources? And I was homeless on a mountain. What about people who are homeless in cities? What are they going to forage? Gravel? And what about areas where foraging is illegal? You want them to get arrested? In a police state like this?

You make laws criminalizing their existence. The "trouble" they make is surviving. I got the cops called on me because I went for a walk. I had a stick I was using to help me walk because I have a limp and couldn't afford a cane. A fucking white couple saw me and called the cops and told them I was walking "with a rifle" and was "very threatening". I got DAMNED lucky that a Light horseman found me first and told me what happened. Laughed a little. Told me not to worry about it, he'd call it in as bogus, and have a talk with the couple. But again. I was lucky. If that had been a state cop and not a rez one, I could have been fucking shot. For walking.
