"Shriveled Saguaro" mixed media quilt wall hanging I drive by this saguaro regularly and have watched it decompose over the years. I took this photo with my Fuji DL-300 film camera and got it printed on fabric. I quilted on it with my domestic sewing machine. It was my first time making artwork like this and I am excited to explore it more! This piece is currently hanging at the Summer Invitational: Melt show at five15arts in Phoenix until the end of August! If you're in the Phoenix area, be sure to check it out. The Garden Lupin/Lupinus polyphyllus/blomsterlupin is an invasive species here in Sweden and can outcompete many native plants, which is why efforts are made to limit its spread. Even so, there is no denying that it is a beautiful flower. Judging by the enthusiasm of this Common Carder Bee/Bombus pascuorum/åkerhumla, the abundance of lupins is not something she seems inclined to complain about. Skärholmen, Södermanland, Sweden (9 June 2013).
