Based off of a “Expose” Blog
“I want to start off by saying that yes, this is a rant.
No, I will NOT be linking the blog unless necessary.
This is just my opinion based off of a situation that I found appalling. There may be a few flaws in this story, I’ll try to run over each on with detail, but I can not be certain this will be a perfect depiction of my full opinion on this matter.
So I’m gonna start off with the story:
A person who will remain anonymous, and we will call Billy, for now, ranted about their father constantly asking them if they had any homework to do. They grew annoyed and vented online, where it was supposed to be just their friends and a few stray followers seeing them.
One of their followers, who we will name Sarah, thought of this to be over-dramatic and screenshot it, posting it to an “expose” blog. Sarah directly told Billy that because Sarah’s father had run away at a young age, they believed the person should have been grateful, and not complaining at all.
Billy got upset, and once again, ranted about the whole situation. It’s important to note, just for this situation, that Billy is transgender [FtM]. Billy spoke about how their father, while he may or may not have been intoxicated at that time, told them he would help them “masturbate.. and appreciate being a girl”.
It is extremely important to note here that the rant did not specifically say his father did anything to him, just that he made very disgusting and suggestive statements to him.
The expose blog proceeded to post “This is an obvious case for an ungrateful kid being an asshat over any little step their parents make because they have no real problems in their life that they have to make ones up.”
They then went on to “expose” them by saying they were a liar. Saying “Actual sexual assault victims are not very open about their experiences. And even when they would provide reasoning they don’t go full detail from shame and awful memories.”
Typical is not always. Correlation does not equal causation.
Unless the person admits it: you can not tell a lie.
People are so different and complex. A way I lie may be different from how someone else with the same mental issues as I lie.
Just because multiple people who are lying about an event or disorder tend to say or do certain things, does not make that the root of how to tell a lie.
People, with many studies, can not tell a lie apart 100% of the time. The reason? Because people all lie differently.
You know what else varies among people? How they react to certain situations.
How would you react in that situation? Would you just act like you were in a television show, sit back, laugh and go “Oh, dad! You jokester, you! You know I’m trans, silly billy!” Would you just shrug and ignore it? The likely answer, while not the certain answer (because you might, who knows?) is probably no. Because, your father, the one who raised you, telling you they’d help you “enjoy” being a gender you’re not through masturbation doesn’t seem ideal, does it?
I don’t find that whole “ Actual sexual assault victims are not very open about their experiences” 100% true, as I’ve stated before, the correlation of sexual assault victims and lying does NOT equal causation, and people differ from how they react to those kinds of experiences.
Just keep this in mind: “ Everyone responds differently to trauma- some may laugh, some may cry, and others will not show any emotions.”
So someone can be as open about it just the same as someone could be shut off about it, but both could be completely valid.
And if you wish to make yourself anything legit, I don’t think constantly insulting them helps your case.
Now, how can one call out a problematic person when they’re the most problematic of them all?

About Tumblr “Callout”, “Expose”, and “Cringe” blogs:
Look. These blogs are not always the greatest. Especially when they’re spitting insults at the person.
My rule is to never judge a person until you really know them.
This is because people have different opinions, and one opinion you may disagree with can skew your view on them.
Know a person, not based off of a few posts when they were upset, but from your experience entirely on them, when you actually talk with them civilly.
Here are a few disgusting things about some of these kinds of blogs:
They react negatively to either people ranting, or having fun and creating OCs for that purpose.
They react negatively to people’s ignorance rather than explaining the issue to them calmly and hoping they’d listen and learn.
They then sometimes LINK the person’s account, indicating to its audience to start harassment and extreme humiliation and fear on the person.
Do you know how problematic that is?
Let people rant, no matter how silly it is. If you’re gonna call out people, a rule is to keep them anonymous. Harassment solves nothing, it only causes future issues. Be logical and kind with how you say things. Spewing out insult after insult is not a valuable trait in the “expose-blog business”.
And most importantly: If your blog is only intended to humiliate, insult, and/or harass a person, you do not need to run that blog.
Try to make a blog about anonymous examples of toxic behavior, like a homophobic person calling a lesbian constant slurs, so people know not how to act. Do not make your blog about hurting others for your entertainment.
