it’s hard to remember that u have no obligation in life other than to be kind and give love. like. you were not put on this earth to work a part time job or get a degree or have a fancy career. you were put on this earth to smile and make other people smile, to spread happiness. your reason for living doesn’t have to go any deeper than ‘living’. just breathe. make friends with a plant. drink your water. i fucking love you.

i think what’s wrong with me is that i don’t live secluded in a hut in the woods. i don’t bang enough rocks against enough things. i just haven’t forged any swords

sometimes i forget how many times i’ve picked myself off the floor, how many times i’ve washed away smudgy makeup and put myself to bed. how many times i’ve said no to something unhealthy. said yes to something good. how many times i’ve treated myself with kindness and patience. i forget how many times i’ve tended to wounds and made peace with my own anger. if i was taking care of a body that was not my own, i’d believe i was doing everything i could. so here’s to remembering that i’m doing the best i can.
