Sorry but as a plant person I couldn’t give less a f abt crime pays botany don’t guy. I was talking to his friend, my neighbor, right next to him and he didn’t look up at all. Unfriendly. Of course I could look into this too far, he’s on his book tour and is exhausted and might not be an unfriendly person always. I wasn’t impressed by his presentation but I was impressed by his love and care for his dog he brought with him to the conference. And I absolutely hated the fanboying abt him. All of this conference is filled with well educated botanists and other forms of ecologists or scientists and even the amazing people I met were fawning over him. He’s just a guy with a lot of followers on instagram. You meet these people in real life and you don’t get to see that side of them and probably never will because the way you’re seeing them. I get it but I don’t. At this age. Same goes for all the plant influencers. I say this but want to clarify that I still appreciate them for their knowledge and I have learned a lot from them.
