We truly should've seen it coming.
In Rebels, all the previous seasons leading up to Season 4, we really don't see much of Kanan and Hera being in love...
Then season 4, it's like full blown #kanera moments AND Kanan gets ALL THE SPOTLIGHT.
In season 1 leading to season 2 of Bad Batch, we don't get much of Tech. I know this because a lot of my Tech girlies were so pissed they didn't get more of him. That he was always on the ship.
Then- Season 2 comes out.
We get this masterpiece of an episode: Faster will forever be my favorite bad batch Episode
AND- Our first possible love interest for Tech is introduced in the second episode- I think-?
Like c'mon, guys. How did we not see this coming-
THE KINER BROTHERS EVEN WARNED US THERE WAS SOMETHING BIG COMING.
Now, don't get me wrong. I knew someone was going to die. It wouldn't be Filoni if someone didn't die... I figured it was going to be Crosshair, despite how much I love him.
Along with the fact Hunter and Omega have plot armor... so it came down to Crosshair, Wrecker, or Tech...
I hated that he died, and I really hope he's not actually dead. But, well have to wait and see...
Also- a little funny thing for yall. Maybe to laugh-
But when Tech was dangling, all I could think of was this scene from Day After Tomorrow😭😭

one of my favourite things about the clone wars is that everyone just agreed that the clone commanders are all in love with their generals.
Obi Wan and Cody? theyre in love. they drink tea together.
Aayla and Bly? married, paint each others nails sometimes.
Shaak Ti and Colt? adopted every single clone trooper, official parents of the GAR.
Anakin and Rex might not be in romantic love, but platonically they were MADE for one another.
and everyone knows that Plo adopted the wolffepack so there nothing but love there, too.
they just deserve to be happy.
This is very cute, though... Consider the alternative.
A Jedi and a Clone Commander that hate each other, but still work together because they're professionals.
I'm not talking about Krell here I mean a Jedi with all their compassion and tolerance... But they cannot stand the Clone Commander and vice versa.
They argue, they snark, they sass.
Jedi saves the battalion: "you aren't gonna die today commander"
Clone Commander: "I regret it already"
The Jedi gets shot and the commander does get them so safety but "you deserve this. This is why armour exists and you refuse to wear it. You only have yourself to blame"
Commander disobeys orders and is generally annoying and the Jedi looks at them: "you know I understand why some Jedi fall to the Dark Side."
"that's not a very Jedi thing to say"
"the Jedi preach tolerance. Doesn't mean I have to like you."

You get my point. But this dynamic makes me laugh everytime.

I watch The Bad Batch as an exploration of the beginning of the Empire from the perspective of a group of fugitives trying to get by in a galaxy that doesn't always make sense.
I'm here for their story.
I'm here for WHATEVER the writers, artists, and composers give us in their own good time. I want the plot to be given to me slowly. I want a character's redemption or further fall to have so much meat to it that I sit back and think, "Wow. They went through hell to get here."
I want to find out what makes the characters tick one morsel at a time, and I'm NOT going to complain about where the writers take them if it's not what I envisioned for them because it's the story.
Honestly, I'm finding this fandom to be a tedious place lately. A lot of people only seem to enjoy the show if they are given exactly what they want by the writers and the moment the show deviates from that, they complain.
I'm here for the story. Please reblog this or leave me a comment if you are too because I want to surround myself with other fans who are here for the Batch's story in whatever direction it takes us.
