Did you realize that being a vampire is also limiting yourself in a very depressing way? You have incredible gifts to learn and infinite amount of energy to do smth REALLY good for this planet but you can't add up to the science ever. You have no freedom to use this supernatural life. Then what do you do in eternity? Just exist?? So since Bella had no literal passions she didn't even think of these, just wants to watch her family from corner.

Alright listen to this. Idk if we mentioned this before but do you think Jacob was always the second best thing after Edward because Jacob wouldn't be able to make Bella one of them? She wouldn't be a different person in some aspects (especially physical) of herself. Everything, literally everything would stay the same. She would be living in the town she doesn't really like. All the supernatural stuff would go on and she was going to stay as the weak link. Plus, seeing Emily and Sam showed her how is it like to be the "wolf girl". Waiting at home living in their small but strong world without really being "one of them". Besides all the right comments on her unreliable decision making I believe she actually wants true freedom. Live her own strong life. From beginning of the twilight to the end of breaking dawn she has been seeking for an independent life so that she can fight for whatever she wants.
