The production will close having only 143 regular performances, the least in the broadway history of 'CATS'.

Genuinely hope this production gets a new life on a tour somehow or at least gets a new home somewhere

Cats the Jellicle ball is getting a cast album!!

The album will be recorded later this month.

Our memories of Cats: The Jellicle Ball will live again. Despite its early closure, Broadway's Tony-nominated revival Cats: The Jellicle Ball will release a cast album this winter through Atlantic Records. The news was revealed at the August 1 performance through an onstage announcement by “Tempress” Chasity Moore (who plays Grizabella). The announcement comes just one week ahead of the show's final performance at the Broadhurst Theatre on August 8.

The album will be recorded later this month by the full company of Cats: The Jellicle Ball, produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Alana da Fonseca. An official release date and pre-order information for the album will be announced at a later date.

Even in the production where everything is gay, they still won't let Demeter and Bomba be gay for each other

The way Demeter reacts to Bombalurina when she calls Tugger a curious beast (literally storms over to her and damn near looks like she's scolding her).

The way Bombalurina would grab Demeter's waist and pull her back every time she tried flirting with someone.

The way Bombalurina shielded Demeter with her entire body when the cops came.

There is not one interaction they have that doesn't scream gay. Hell, they separated them more when they transferred to Broadway, and they still managed to be more gay than they were while at the Pac.
