Forever,even with the grass - Alec volturi x fem!reader
The idea of a picnic had started as a joke.
“Humans do this for fun?” Alec Volturi had asked, watching you unpack sandwiches in the kitchen.
“Yes.”
“You voluntarily eat outside?”
You laughed. “Yes.”
“In the grass?”
“Yes, Alec.”
He looked mildly offended.
“That seems inconvenient.”
Which, naturally, meant you were absolutely making him do it.
⸻
The Volturi gardens were one of your favorite places in the castle.
Hidden away behind ancient stone walls, the gardens were peaceful and beautiful. Flowers bloomed in neat rows, fountains trickled softly, and ivy climbed the marble statues scattered among the pathways.
The afternoon sunlight filtered through the trees, bathing everything in golden warmth.
And in the middle of it all sat a thoroughly unconvinced Alec.
He stared suspiciously at the blanket spread beneath him.
“You know there are chairs inside.”
“Yes.”
“And tables.”
“Yes.”
“And a roof.”
You smiled sweetly. “But there are no flowers inside.”
Alec glanced around.
“…There are flowers in vases.”
You burst out laughing.
“You’re impossible.”
“So I’ve been told.”
Despite all his complaints, Alec had not moved an inch from your side.
Not that you expected him to.
He sat beside you on the blanket, one arm wrapped loosely around your waist while you ate. He himself, of course, had no interest in the food.
Though he watched you with quiet fondness while you happily munched on strawberries.
“You know,” you said thoughtfully, “you make a very handsome picnic companion.”
“Do I?”
“Mhm.”
“Even though I contribute nothing.”
“You contribute emotional support.”
His eyebrow rose.
“Emotional support?”
“And aesthetic value.”
Alec laughed softly.
“You flatter me.”
“No, I spoil you.”
“That too.”
His smile was small.
Rare.
Beautiful.
The kind that was reserved only for you.
⸻
“Honestly, I think you’re enjoying this,” you teased.
“I assure you, I am not.”
“Really?”
“Yes.”
“You don’t like the sunshine?”
“It doesn’t affect me.”
“The flowers?”
“They smell pleasant.”
“The birds?”
“They’re loud.”
“The cuddles?”
Alec paused.
His eyes flicked down to where your head rested on his shoulder.
Then to his hand, which absentmindedly stroked your hair.
Then back to you.
“…I tolerate those.”
You grinned.
“Liar.”
“Perhaps.”
⸻
You spent nearly an hour talking about nothing.
Books.
Music.
Stories from your childhood.
And stories from his.
Though Alec rarely spoke about himself, moments like these made him softer.
More open.
He told you about growing up with Jane centuries ago.
How they used to race through villages.
How she had once stolen a loaf of bread and blamed him for it.
“How rude,” you gasped.
“I know.”
“And was she punished?”
“No.”
“Because she’s adorable?”
“Because she threatened the baker.”
You laughed so hard you nearly dropped your drink.
Alec smiled at the sound.
He always smiled when you laughed.
⸻
Eventually, you laid down on the blanket and stared up at the clouds.
Alec watched you curiously.
“What are you doing?”
“Cloud watching.”
Silence.
“Why?”
“Because it’s relaxing.”
He glanced up.
Then back down.
“I see nothing.”
“That one looks like a rabbit.”
“It looks like a cloud.”
“And that one looks like a ship.”
“It also looks like a cloud.”
“You have no imagination.”
“No, I have eyesight.”
You giggled.
He smiled again.
There was no winning against you.
Not that he minded.
⸻
“You know,” you murmured softly, “I think this is my favorite day.”
His expression softened immediately.
“Why?”
“Because it’s quiet.”
You intertwined your fingers with his.
“Because you’re here.”
Alec looked down at your joined hands.
Something warm and infinitely tender appeared in his crimson eyes.
“You make very simple things seem extraordinary.”
“I think you have that backwards.”
“No.”
His thumb brushed lovingly over your knuckles.
“Before you, I had existed for centuries.”
His voice was quiet.
“And I never once sat in a garden arguing with clouds.”
You smiled.
“Life-changing experience?”
“Apparently.”
“Would you do it again?”
Alec pretended to think.
“Hm.”
“Alec.”
“Yes.”
“Would you?”
He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead.
“As many times as you wish.”
Your smile widened.
“Even with the grass?”
He sighed dramatically.
“Yes.”
“And the bugs?”
“Yes.”
“And the birds?”
“Yes.”
“And sandwiches?”
He narrowed his eyes.
“Let’s not become unreasonable.”
You burst into laughter.
And Alec—who was feared by entire covens, who stood beside kings and inspired terror with a single glance—simply held you closer and smiled.
Because the truth was…
He didn’t care about the picnic.
Or the flowers.
Or the clouds.
Or the grass.
He cared about you.
And if lying on a blanket in the gardens while you pointed out rabbit-shaped clouds made you happy…
Then, to Alec Volturi, it was a perfect afternoon.
⸻
Unfortunately for the two of you, neither of you noticed the figures watching from one of the palace windows.
Aro clasped his hands together with delight.
“Oh, look at them!”
Marcus glanced outside.
“They have been staring at clouds for forty-three minutes.”
“Romance!” Aro declared.
Caius looked appalled.
“They are lying on the ground.”
“Yes.”
“Voluntarily.”
“Yes.”
“In daylight.”
“Yes.”
Caius shook his head.
“Madness.”
But Marcus—just for a moment—allowed the smallest, faintest smile.
Being with Alec Volturi meant learning that his calmness was deceptive.
To everyone else, Alec was composed. Detached. Almost impossible to read.
But you had learned that beneath that quiet exterior was someone capable of loving with terrifying intensity.
Which meant one unfortunate truth.
When you got hurt—
Alec absolutely panicked.
Not outwardly.
Not screaming or pacing.
But in the way Alec did everything.
Silently.
Terrifyingly.
⸻
It happened so quickly.
You had been walking through one of Volterra’s older streets while visiting the market. The rain had made the stone slick, and before you realized what was happening, your foot slipped.
You fell hard.
Pain exploded through your ankle.
And then—
Crack.
You cried out.
Almost immediately, a blur of black appeared beside you.
“Y/N.”
Alec.
His voice was so soft, but you recognized the edge underneath it instantly.
Fear.
Real fear.
“Alec,” you gasped, tears springing to your eyes. “I think—I think I broke it.”
He was kneeling beside you before you finished speaking.
His crimson eyes darted over you frantically.
“Where?”
“My ankle.”
His hands hovered over you.
Hovering.
Not touching.
As though he was afraid he’d somehow hurt you more.
“You fell?”
You nodded.
“It slipped.”
“You hit your head?”
“No.”
“Your ribs?”
“No.”
“Your wrists?”
“No.”
“You’re certain?”
“Alec—”
“Are you certain?”
His voice had gone dangerously quiet.
Not angry.
Terrified.
You reached out and touched his hand.
“I’m okay.”
No.
Not okay.
Injured.
Human.
Fragile.
Mortal.
Things Alec hated.
His eyes closed briefly.
Then, without another word, he carefully lifted you into his arms.
“Alec, I can walk—”
“No.”
“Really—”
“No.”
His answer left no room for argument.
⸻
By the time you returned to the castle, half the Volturi had somehow heard.
Which meant the throne room had become unusually crowded.
Aro stood immediately.
“Oh dear!”
Marcus blinked with mild concern.
And Caius looked personally offended that gravity existed.
“How did this happen?” Caius demanded.
“She slipped,” Alec answered shortly.
“Slipped?”
“Yes.”
Caius narrowed his eyes.
“At the ground?”
“Yes, Caius,” Marcus said dryly. “That is generally where one slips.”
Jane appeared seconds later.
The moment she saw tears in your eyes, her expression changed.
“What happened?”
“She hurt her ankle,” Alec replied.
Jane’s gaze snapped to him.
And she froze.
Because Alec looked…
Panicked.
Not visibly.
Not to humans.
But Jane had known him for centuries.
She saw it immediately.
And suddenly she wasn’t making sarcastic comments anymore.
She moved beside you and squeezed your hand gently.
“It hurts?” she asked.
You nodded.
“A little.”
“Liar.”
You sniffled.
“A lot.”
Jane frowned.
And Alec?
Alec hadn’t let go of you once.
Not once.
⸻
After Carlisle confirmed it was a fracture and assured everyone you’d recover, Alec remained glued to your side.
He carried you everywhere.
Literally everywhere.
“You know I can use crutches.”
“No.”
“Alec—”
“No.”
“You carried me to the kitchen.”
“Yes.”
“I was hungry.”
“You could have called me.”
“You were right beside me.”
“And yet you attempted to stand.”
You laughed despite yourself.
“Alec, I’m not made of glass.”
His expression softened.
“I know.”
But there was sadness there.
Something deeper.
“You break,” he whispered.
The words made your heart ache.
Humans did break.
Bones.
Bodies.
Lives.
Humans ended.
And sometimes you forgot that while you worried about scraped knees and fractures—
Alec worried about losing you.
Forever.
⸻
One evening, nearly a week later, you woke to find him sitting beside your bed.
Watching.
Not in a creepy way.
Just…
Watching.
His hand rested lightly over yours.
“Alec?”
His eyes immediately lifted.
“You’re awake.”
“Have you been here all night?”
Silence.
“…Perhaps.”
“Alec.”
“You moved in your sleep.”
“So?”
“You whimpered.”
You smiled weakly.
“Sweetheart, it’s just my ankle.”
His gaze lowered.
“Today.”
You blinked.
“What?”
“It is your ankle today.”
His voice was so quiet.
“So small a thing.”
His thumb brushed over your knuckles.
“But humans…”
He swallowed.
“…humans disappear from things much smaller.”
And suddenly you understood.
This wasn’t about your injury.
Not really.
This was centuries of immortality loving something temporary.
Something fragile.
Someone he couldn’t heal with vampire strength.
Someone who would someday age while he remained the same.
Tears filled your eyes.
“Oh, Alec…”
He looked genuinely distressed.
“Does it hurt?”
“No.”
You reached up and cupped his face.
“No, my love.”
His eyes closed immediately, leaning into your touch.
“You scared me,” he admitted quietly.
And maybe nobody else would understand how much those words meant.
Not Aro.
Not Caius.
Not even Jane.
Because Alec Volturi—the quiet, composed, deadly guard that terrified nations—
Had been frightened.
Not because enemies attacked.
Not because wars threatened.
But because the woman he loved slipped on wet cobblestones and broke her ankle.
And honestly?
Everyone in the castle knew.
Because for the next month, if you so much as sneezed—
Alec appeared.
And if anyone dared joke about it—
Jane was the first one to glare at them.
“Leave him alone,” she snapped at Felix one day.
“He nearly had a nervous breakdown.”
Alec sighed in embarrassment.
Jane smirked.
“He counted how many times you blinked while you slept.”
“…Jane.”
“He made Carlisle explain fractures four times.”
“…Jane.”
“He threatened the stairs.”
“JANE.”
You burst out laughing.
And though Alec buried his face in your shoulder in humiliation—
You felt him smiling.
Because you were laughing.
And that meant you were okay.
And for Alec?
That was everything.

Corin reaching reader about the ways of the volturi such as their status and a few notable vampires gifts only to discover reader can copy gifts 👀✌️
Copy cat
A/N: This reminds me of life and death which I need to read after I finish Midnight sun 👀 I hope you like it! I must admit the personality I gave her in one touch has become the standard for me 🫶🏻
Warnings: none / Words: I think 1kish
Corin was the center of your attention.
You adored her. Loved her. Wanted to do anything for her. You met her through her friend, Chelsea, after Heidi lured you in through a visitation to their fortress in Volterra.
All of those women were gorgeous. Their crimson red eyes striking and their smiles so sweet it made you follow them anywhere.
But Corin was the most beautiful woman to you. Something about her made you happy. So sickly happy that you surely should get sick.
“And Felix is the executioner,” she finished.
“Oh, but what is his gift then?”
“No one has ever been able to fight him off.” Corin smiled, “he is the strongest vampire anyone has ever seen. I doubt a stronger vampire will ever be born.”
“Wow.”
“Demetri is the tracker. He can find you anywhere, no matter what you do.”
“Every gifted vampire is a high guard?”
She nodded, “unless the gift is not qualified for missions or trials. Afton can be invisible but it’s not strong enough. He is therefore a status below Demetri and Felix.”
You looked at her cloak. It was almost entirely black. Only one shade darker than the twins and she shared the shade with Chelsea. You remembered that Heidi did not wear a cloak, “what about Heidi? I know what she does.”
Corin gave you a smile. She knew you were a little careful around Heidi. If Corin had not attended the feeding, you would have died at Heidi’s hands.
“Heidi’s status is outside of our ranking system. She feeds us. However, I believe she is considered the same as Demetri and Felix. Useful, important, however if anyone ever comes with a similar gift of greater range; she would be replaced. The twins for example shall never be replaced.”
You gulped.
Corin reassured you, “you are my mate. It does not matter that you do not have a gift. You cannot be sent away.”
“Thank you,” you sighed. “I feel a little like Afton in a way.”
“You could always talk to him! I am sure he can provide you with information and reassurance that it’s okay. Perhaps you can spend time with him anyway when I am tending to my tasks. A friend would be good for you.”
“I shall ask him.”
You both heard the quiet footsteps of the tracker. Demetri did not speak as he knocked on the door. You were in Corin’s private chambers.
“What is it, Demetri?” She let him inside.
He politely greeted her, then you. You had only seen him at the feeding, before you were turned. He was beautiful too. And quiet, very quiet.
You heard the laughter of him once when he was with Felix and Heidi. Quite the introvert, similar to Corin you thought.
“I will leave tomorrow with Felix for our annual visit to the covens overseas. Do you need anything from there?”
Corin smiled cheekily, “could you get me one of those flower boxes again? I heard there is a new collection coming.”
“Of course,” he smiled charmingly.
You gulped when he looked at you. He extended his hand to you, clearly wanting to introduce himself to you properly.
“You are the new one,” he grinned. “Welcome to our coven.”
You accepted his hand, “thank you.”
He took his hand away quickly when you fell to the floor. The thousand different images of people you knew inside this fortress, where they were standing, where they moved towards, it all appeared at once inside your mind. It was painful, you let out a scream.
“What’s wrong? Love, please answer us.” Corin hurriedly sat down next to you, afraid to touch you.
“It hurt,” you cried. “When he touched me.”
Demetri took a step backwards.
“Don’t touch me,” you yelped when Corin grabbed your hand.
When she touched you, you suddenly felt a strange sense for how happy and content everyone was.
“Did you? Did you just see everything I see?” Demetri asked.
You put your head between your knees. The images were gone again but the pain stayed for now.
“I- I don’t know.”
“Do you still?” Corin stayed close.
“I- I don’t see anything anymore.”
“Master Aro must see her,” Demetri frowned. “This is unique.”
“Are you saying I have a gift?” You looked up at him. Then at Corin, “should I be worried?”
“No,” she hesitated. “It just means you will have responsibilities too. We should go to master Aro now.”
You groaned, trying to get up slowly.
“Felix was waiting for you,” you whispered to Demetri. “I saw-“
His frown deepened and he shared a look with Corin.
“How do you handle that? How do you live peacefully with all that happening at once in your mind? You are like a living gps.” You looked at Corin next, “and you? You keep people happy? Do you keep me happy? How does that make you happy?” You cried.
“Love, let’s just go to master first? He can help you, answer your questions.”
“Okay,” you took a shaky breath. “I can do that.”
“Corin? Do I need to stay close?” Demetri asked Corin.
She shook her head, “I can handle it. I will let you know what he says but surely the news will spread fast. It seems my mate is a copycat.”
Copycat?
You could copy their gifts?
How dangerous would that be for everyone?
Suddenly the way Demetri looked at you and the way Corin hesitated, made sense. But how? You held Corin’s hand before and nothing happened. Was this just a one time thing or did it need time to develop?
“That worries me,” Demetri whispered. He left quickly.
“Shall we go, love?” Corin tried to be enthusiastic. You could feel content again. She was exercising her gift on you.
“I don’t want anyone to be sent away because of me.”
“You do not have anyone’s gift I believe,” Corin reassured you again. “Your gift would be good for other reasons. Other tasks. But let’s first speak to our masters, they know better than we what you just experienced.” She guided you through the halls of the fortress. The masters were close already, the throne room was not far from Corin’s chambers.
You sighed, carefully smiling again, “I could be a high guard too?”

Chapter Warning: Light smut
___
The following hour and a half passed slowly. Aro, Marcus, and Felix awkwardly kept giving each other sixes glances while Athenadora sat tapping her foot.
“What exactly do you have him doing?”
Aro pressed his lips together. Again, he nearly made another snide comment but stopped himself before finally speaking. The amount of lewd comments Aro was coming up with blew his mind.
Caius found someone to actually put a smile on his face.
He’s got someone who actually makes him happy to keep his bed warm.
I really have to stop.
Aro decided to stop out of some respect for Marcus.
“This he’s doing on his own accord.”
Athenadora raised an eyebrow and turned to look at Marcus having enough of Aro being vague. For once Marcus didn’t look like he was trying to think of a way to put a fork in a toaster and die. In fact, he looked offended. Athenadora had gotten used to the hopeless and bored expression on Marcus’ face after Didyme died.
“Marcus, why are you looking at me like that?”
Marcus glared at Athenadora.
“Don’t bring me into this.”
Aro glanced at Marcus again as if asking him to play “rock paper scissors” on who was going to talk to Caius. If Aro was going to be the one to have a sex talk with Caius and yourself then Marcus could take one for the team and deal with Athenadora. Marcus gave him another glare that made Aro sigh.
“If you’ll excuse me.”
He walked out of the throne room and into the direction of Caius’ chambers.
“I better not get punched.”
(Meanwhile)
You lay snuggled against Caius’ chest as he stroked a hand through your hair. You ran a finger over one of the scars on his chest before speaking.
“That was better than the sex in Lady Chatterley's Lover.”
“Lady who?”
Caius questioned.
“It’s an erotic book. One of the first I read and you beat my expectations.”
Caius tilted your face to his for another kiss.
“You’ve seen nothing yet, my darling.”
Caius pushed you onto your back and moved to take his place on top of you. Lifting your leg over his hip, he slowly pushed back inside. You lifted your hips, meeting his deliberately slow, deep thrusts. This was how he would kill you. He would alternate between sweet, slow lovemaking and rough, desperate fucking in the blink of an eye.
Right as your nails raked down his back, there was a knock at the door. Caius was instantly annoyed. You wanted to kick whoever was on the other side of the door, too. You had been waiting ages to have a lover like this, and they were disturbing your moment.
“I’m killing whoever this is. I’m serious. They are dead.”
You lifted up enough to rest your head on your arm.
Caius replied as he stood and pulled his pants up before leaving the bedroom and heading for the door.
“Hello, Caius.”
Caius spun around to see an uncomfortable-looking Aro.
“Bloody hell, Aro! What are you doing in here when I’m half naked? Your niece is naked in the next room, by the way. If you keep this up I will put a bell around your neck.”
Aro winced. He ignored the way Caius was smirking at him. That smirk was about to evaporate.
“I’m aware. Trust me I wouldn’t have come to disturb this lovely moment for the two of you if I didn’t have to. We have a problem. Athenadora is in the throne room wanting to see her dear husband.”
Aro watched a series of emotions go over Caius’ face before going back to perpetually annoyed. Aro quickly decided to add,
“Trust me, it made me sick saying that. Her words, not mine.”
Caius glanced at the bedroom, where you lay awaiting his arrival.
“Stall her. I’ll be there in a minute. Time to put a stop to her visits once and for good.”
Aro nodded before walking out of the room. Caius groaned, rubbing a hand over his face. Of course, Athenadora would come back when he finally found the right one. Why wouldn’t she?
Oh right. She loves to try my patience.
Caius grumbled before going back into the bedroom. You looked up at him and frowned.
“You’re making that face. What’s wrong?”
Caius reached for his shirt and started buttoning it up.
“Slight problem. It looks like Athenadora has returned…”
Your eyes widened before rolling.
“Of course that heifer shows up when we make love and seal our bond.”
You quickly stood up and pulled your dress on. Caius was beside you in an instant. He lifted your face to his.
“Right. Our bond is sealed. You’re mine and I’m yours. It’s as simple as that. I need to go scare her off. You’re coming with me. When we go in there and be a good girl. No matter what she says, keep that pretty mouth of yours shut. Don’t make me spank you later.”
Caius reached down lightly tapping your ass. You gave him a frown.
“What if we go out there and she’s covered in mud. You expect me to keep my mouth shut?”
Caius reached for your hand.
“Yes, I do. Don’t be cheeky. I want you to be a good girl and sit on my lap. Understand?”
You didn’t like the idea of having to keep your mouth shut. You wanted nothing more than to go out there, have a look at this chick, and thank her for leaving. It took all you had not to chuckle at the mental image of confusion on some woman’s face when you thanked her for leaving her husband. You also didn’t want to piss Caius off.
There will be plenty more opportunities for me to be a smart ass.
You thought with a smile before sighing.
“Fine. I’ll be good…even if a great opportunity presents itself.”
You replied as Caius reached down for your hand. Intertwining your hand with his, he moved to lead the way back to the throne room.
Caius knew Athenadora would have a cow seeing him holding her hand. He had never been big on PDA with Athenadora. That had been a big source of contention between the two. Athenadora always wanted to be holding his hand. Caius, however, had no interest until you came along. Now the idea of holding your hand and having you on his lap wasn’t so distressing.
The moment the doors opened Athenadora was on her feet. She knew what she wanted. She wanted to come back home. If she could just talk to Caius while making up some story about realizing what she gave up maybe she could win him over.
All of those thoughts came to a screeching halt the moment she saw Caius holding some girl’s hand. Athenadora felt her mouth drop. Who the fuck was this? Just what had she missed?
Caius gave her a cold glare while sitting down beside Aro. His eyes flickered to you.
“Come here, angel.”
He said softly. You immediately did as you were told and sat down on Caius’ lap. He wrapped an arm around your waist as you looked at Athenadora. She was prettier than you imagined. In fact, she was absolutely gorgeous. Had the situation been different, you would have considered asking her for beauty tips.
Caius turned his attention to his ex-wife. Keeping his face as cold as possible he decided it was time to get this over with.
“What do you want?”
“Who is she?”
Athenadora snapped. Caius smirked, looking at you with adoration. Had you always been this beautiful? Sitting on his lap like a precious little stone stare, Caius couldn’t help but adore you all over again.
“She’s my mate. That’s all that you need to know. Now, as I said, what do you want?”
Athenadora swallowed but kept her eyes on you. You were most definitely beautiful. She could see why Caius was in love with you. Only one thing was off…you were half human!
“She looks like Didyme and Marcus. Oh my god. She’s a half-breed! You three have gone and let some fool make a half-breed? How is this possible? Who the hell are you?”
Caius frowned as Marcus started to stand. Caius’ eyes flickered to Marcus. If your father went and pulled Athenadorea’s head off, he wouldn’t have minded.
“I said, do not talk to her.”
You were internally struggling to keep your mouth shut. Glancing between your father and Caius, you were internally begging for someone to give you the green light to be snarky.
“He said stop talking about my daughter. I suggest you listen.”
Marcus said, his voice cold. Athenadora stared between Marcus and you with wide eyes.
“Now what do you want?”
Caius snapped, his voice rising a bit.
“I want to come home. I never should have left. I was the dumbest person in the world for leaving you.”
Caius smirked.
“I’m not saying that you are the dumbest person in the world but you better hope the dumbest person in the world doesn’t die.”
She couldn’t help it. You giggled at the comment. Caius gently patted your thigh.
“Now now, darling. Athenadora, you left and you aren’t welcome back. I have the queen I want. You should go and not return. Things could end badly for you if you do. Felix…”
Felix stepped forward, ushering a very annoyed Athenadora out.
You sat silently for a moment before turning back to Caius.
“You sure showed her. Too bad I didn’t have my phone to take her picture.”
Caius smirked as Aro shook his head.
“This isn’t over. You know her.”
Caius shrugged.
“You could have killed her. Marcus was ready to do the job.”
Marcus sat back down with a huff.
“If she comes back, I will.”
The following months passed without much excitement. It was the normal trials with the normal results. Athenadora hadn’t made a peep; something told you that she was plotting. For the moment, it appeared that you simply had to let events unfold. Your relationship with Caius had gotten into a comfortable rhythm. You were used to the two sides of his personality…the Volturi king side, then the husband that you had behind closed doors.
One morning, you sat watching Caius, Marcus, and Aro getting ready to deal with a problem. They had been going away more and more lately for small stretches of time.
“I’m assuming we are just killing them and going about our day?”
Caius questioned. Aro looked up with a smirk.
“I mean it would be nice to ask questions and kill later.”
“I don’t like that. I prefer to kill them, then the problem is dealt with.”
Caius replied before coming to stand in front of you. He glances over his shoulder at Marcus and Aro. Both quickly walked out. Neither wanted to see what was about to happen.
“I’ll be home soon.”
Caius said before reaching out to cup your face.
“Your definition of soon and mine are vastly different.”
You replied, sliding off the table you had been sitting on. Caius pulled you against him.
“You know I have a job to do, then I can come home and remind you who you belong to.”
You stood on the tips of your toes pressing a kiss to his lips while your hand slipped down his body.
“You know that I don’t have time.”
He murmured, fighting the urge to pull you into the closet.
“Just an incentive to hurry and come home to me.”
“Like I need one.”
Caius replied before turning and walking from the room.
Later that afternoon, you agreed to go shopping with Heidi. You stood watching her debate of handbags.
“Heidi, you have enough handbags that you could donate one to every woman on the earth.”
Heidi chuckled.
“That’s like you with naughty French lingerie.”
“Yeah, well, I look damn good in it, and Caius has this problem with ripping it off of me.”
Heidi hummed in agreement.
“As you said, no matter the species, men see the potential of having a naked woman in front of them and they go to pieces.”
You nodded.
“It’s like the Christmas present that turns up every night.”
Before Heidi could speak, a voice you hadn’t heard in a while interrupted.
“Look who it is.”
You turned, putting down the bag that you were holding. Athenadora stood looking at you with a cold frown. You internally lit up, knowing you could say something to this bitch.
“Yeah, look, it’s you too…in a public place.”
You added as if daring her to try anything. Athenadora chuckled.
“I’m not dumb enough to bring attention to myself. I’m surprised Caius lets you out of the house.”
You shrugged.
“I’m a real renaissance woman. I can cross the street on my own. It takes real skill.”
It took all Athenadora had not to come after you. You had a smart mouth and she didn’t like it one bit.
“Isn’t that cute? Say, it’s a real shame what happened to your mother and all, isn’t it?”
Heidi moved to stand beside you. She wasn’t sure what it would take for you to whoop Athenadora’s ass, but it was probably a taunt about your family.
“She died. Unfortunately, that happens.”
You replied, trying to let the dig roll off of your shoulders. Athenadora’s mouth dropped.
“You don’t know, do you? Caius never told you? Aro? My my...what a scandal.”
You took a breath, counting to ten.
“What do you want to say, Athenadora? Either open your mouth or shut the fuck up and go about your day.”
The corners of Athenadora’s mouth turned upward.
“Aro never told you how he killed Didyme to stop her and Marcus from leaving?”
That achieved Athenadora’s goal. The cocky expression on your face immediately vanished.
What? No.
You thought as Heidi grabbed your hand.
“That’s enough.”
Heidi growled. Athenadora giggled, choosing to ignore the other woman. Her eyes were hyper-focused on you. If she could tear you down, she would find a way.
“It’s true and I see Caius never told you. That’s scandalous. What else is he hiding from you?”
Athenadora stepped closer but stopped instantly. She looked down at your body before her eyes widened. She didn’t care that you looked close to losing it. Aro killed your mother?! He killed your mother and acted as if nothing happened! What was worse, Caius knew…he knew and hadn’t told you anything. The question is, is Athenadora telling you the truth?
You’re father!
Poor Marcus had been sitting there for centuries in misery, not knowing the truth! How could you look him in the eye and not tell him?
“Does he know?”
You stopped your inner turmoil to glare at Athenadora.
“Know what? I’m kind of in the middle of a tizzy here, and you won’t stop yapping!”
You snapped, suddenly confused as Heidi put a hand to her mouth. Athenadora backed up before smiling.
“I’ll take that as a no. This is amusing. Mr. I-make-the-rules fucked up.”
Heidi moved to push you behind her.
“That’s enough. You need to go.”
Athenadora laughed before walking away. Heidi turned to you with a serious expression.
“Did you know?”
You were beginning to get annoyed.
“Know what? Heidi, you are freaking me out, not to mention that bitch…”
Heidi put a hand to your mouth.
“It happened to the Cullen girl... it would only make sense because you're half human…how would you not know? It could be a potential gift…”
You watched as Heidi paced.
“Heidi, for the love of god…”
“You’re pregnant! I can hear the heartbeat. I never could before until now…were you hiding it? You can hide things well.”
Heidi put a hand over her mouth as you moved to sit down.
“No, I wasn’t hiding anything…at least not intentionally. How is this possible? Oh shit, this is heavy..”
Heidi managed to get a grip on herself when she saw the petrified expression on your face. She quickly walked over and knelt down in front of you.
“You didn’t know?”
You shook your head with wide eyes.
“No. I wouldn’t have known to hide that “
Heidi sat down beside you.
“Unless it was your subconscious hiding it. Look, this happened to the Cullen girl in Forks, WA. It caused a huge uproar and nearly a war. You’re half human, so it makes sense.”
You nearly yelled. What part of this made sense? How were you pregnant?
I mean, I know how. I know how babies are made. Caius and I are good it the act of making a baby without actually trying to do so.
You muttered in your mind.
“Heidi, none of this makes sense. I didn’t think it was possible.”
Heidi was silent for a few moments.
“A lot of things that we don’t think are possible have been happening. You know what, it will be okay. Y/n, you will be fine. You are with the right person and have the right family.”
You stared at Heidi as if she had grown two heads.
“Do you hear yourself? What part of this is alright? Caius is going to lose his mind! What part of Caius and playing house goes together? I can make you a list of things that he expects to happen to him, and being a father isn’t on it! Plus, he has a lot of enemies…holy shit, it looks like hot girl summer is off our calendar now. This is what I get for Caius turning me into a needy hoe.”
Heidi moved to wrap her arms around you.
“You’ll always be a hot girl. As far as being a needy hoe, it’s good sex, and I wouldn’t have said no either. Look at me, I want you to hear me. You will be safe. I know it’s going to be rocky with Aro, especially with the truth that was just dumped on you, but you have your father and Caius will come around. He’s too in love with you to end things. He’s just going to have to add a new thing to his list of accomplishments. Plus you have Demetri and me…and everyone else…even if they don’t know it yet. I’m sure it’s not going to be pleasant, but your vampire side may even out the yuck of the human side…”
Had you not been spiraling, you would have been thankful for Heidi’s kindness.
“Thank Heidi, but I still want to puke.”
Heidi reached for your hand.
“I would consider you a fool if you weren’t freaking out. We should get back.”
For the remainder of the evening, you sat hidden. The last thing that you wanted was to speak to anyone. Heidi let you know that she was there if you needed her. Thankfully, she understood that you needed space.
Sitting with your knees to your chest, you stifled a sob. This whole day had been a shit show. You didn’t know what to think about…your poor mother or the baby to be? Should you go try to choke Aro out or leave him alone? He could be useful when it came to keeping you safe…but could you trust him?
How would you tell Caius? How was he going to react? Burning the world down didn’t seem like a feasible option for this.
“Darling?”
You froze at the sound of Caius’ voice. The moment he opened the closet door, he stared down at you with a confused expression on his face.
Seeing the tears in your face made the rage start to build. Who was about to die?
“Why are you crying in the closet? What happened?”
You rubbed your face.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Caius held out a hand to help you to your feet.
“Tell you what?”
He asked, frowning.
“Aro killed my mother.”
Caius immediately frowned before sitting down. He was silent for a moment, keeping his red eyes on your face. Internally, he was panicking. He didn’t like seeing you upset, but HOW THE HELL did you find THAT out?
“How did you find out?”
He asked, keeping his voice calm. You wiped your eyes again.
“Heidi and I went shopping and we ran into Athenadora…”
Caius was on his feet and livid. You didn’t even have to finish your sentence.
“I should have killed her when I had the chance. I will be now.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
You asked. Caius stopped. He stared at you for a moment and frowned. Yes, he could have told you but what use would it bring? It would only cause you more inner turmoil than you deserve.
“Because it was in the past and there was no reason to bring it up. The less you or anyone else knew the better.”
Your mouth dropped
“Are you fucking joking? This was my mother! My mother spent my whole life hoping she was alive. You saying, in this less-than-interesting tone, that it was in the past is some bull shit! You sit near my father and know the truth!”
Caius had you against the wall in the blink of an eye. His hand held your head firmly so you had to look into his eyes.
“You listen to me and listen good, you weren't here thousands of years ago. Aro’s decision wasn’t right and I had no say in it so don’t start bitching at me. Aro regrets his decision. You didn’t need to know because you didn’t deserve the pain. As far as your father, it isn’t my story to tell. As your husband, I am telling you to keep your fucking mouth shut. This system, our ruling, has worked for thousands of years, and it won’t stop because you had your heart broken. Do you understand?”
“Do you know how cold you sound?”
You questioned. Caius let you go.
“Me being this cold has kept me alive, and it will keep you alive. Stop playing with forces that you can’t control. That’s my warning. There are a lot of things in this castle that you don’t and will not know. Accept it and move on.”
The two of you were silent for a moment. This was the Caius that you originally met. The cold and calculating vampire that only cared about facts and not feelings.
You watched him for a moment before giggling.
“What’s funny?”
He snapped. You stopped laughing for a moment before turning to look at him fully.
“It seems I can hide things from you after all, and just didn’t know it.”
“What are you talking about?”
Caius questioned. You closed your eyes, letting whatever guard you had fall away. The moment realization hit him, Caius’ mouth dropped. He stared at you for a moment with an expression you had never seen on his face…fear.
“How long have you known?”
He managed to get out before backing away like you were about to slap him.
“Today…even my own powers played me for a fool. Congratulations, Daddy!”
You nearly screamed the last part before going into the bedroom and slamming the door

Request: Can you write a series (it can be long or short) where the reader is the daughter of Marcus and Didyme? I know it will make it not cannon but it's fiction. She meets Marcus later in life and when they do meet he sees a bond between the reader and Caius. You can come up with the rest.

Chapter Warning: SMUT
______
You watched Caius storm out with wide eyes.
The fuck was that?
You thought before frowning. He asked you not to hurt him, and you were giving him confirmation that you weren’t like his ex. You would just tell him, at least not intentionally.
I could treat him pretty damn good.
You thought coldly before leaving the room, too. Going downstairs, you stopped seeing Heidi talking to Demetri and Aro. They looked like the perfect unprepared audience for your drama.
Aro tilted his head at the rather annoyed expression on your face. One thing Aro liked about you, like Didyme, your facial expressions were a window to your soul.
“Are you alright, dear?”
You huffed sitting down. Sitting in silence for a moment, you finally looked up to the multiple sets of eyes looking at you.
“So, I’m going to be a lesbian. Heidi want to be my girlfriend?”
The three looked at each other before Heidi came to sit beside you.
“What happened? I don’t think Demetri would go for me being a lesbian. We’ve been together for a long time.”
Demetri shrugged before grinning.
“Y/n could join us.”
Aro gave him a look that made him apologize. Aro sat down with a small smirk.
“As much as I support the lesbian community and would be totally accepting if you decided to be one, can you explain what got you to this point?”
You poked your head up.
“I finally got my first kiss then ruined it by pissing said person off.”
Aro and Heidi’s eyes widened.
“Who kissed you?”
You met Aro’s gaze. This was either going to be a dumb conversation or your uncle would go on a rampage.
“Caius. He got mad at me because he asked me not to hurt him. I said I wasn’t Athenadora, and he went zero to one hundred. He does that a lot, doesn’t he?”
Aro had his hands clasped in front of him. He, too, knew about the bond Marcus saw between Caius and you. Aro just assumed that Marcus’ “just stay away from Caius” and Caius’ shitty attitude would be enough to keep you away…clearly not.
Heidi and Demetri exchanged glances. They had been making bets with Felix on who would make the first move.
“Damn, I hate telling Felix that he was right, but here we are.”
Demetri grumbled before joining you at the table.
“I don’t think what you said was dumb. You were giving him some confrontation that you were different. We all know that you aren’t like her.”
Heidi said soothingly. Aro blinked.
“You kissed Caius?”
You stared at your uncle, raising an eyebrow. Did he not hear you the first time?
“Yes?”
Aro muttered “oh, that’s lovely” and went back to his little world. You shook your head and turned back to Demetri.
“Well, how was it?”
“Nice…I know what French kissing in movies feels like now.”
Aro stood up.
“I shouldn’t be hearing this yet I can’t look away. You didn’t do anything wrong. Heidi is right. You aren’t like Athenadora. Darling, you have to understand that when she left, it devastated Caius. He isn’t the person that you wrong and expect nothing to happen. He has a lot of trauma that he unfortunately likes to bottle up and store away. Just give him some time. I can talk to him, if you want.”
You shook your head.
“Thanks, but don’t. I don’t want my uncle fighting my romantic battles. Something about that sounds weird. Thanks for caring, though.”
Aro nodded.
“Of course, darling. I’ll give him a scathing look of disappointment. He can make of that what he wants. Excuse me while I leave, not knowing a thing.”
When Aro left the room, you sighed again, turning back to Demetri and Heidi.
“I’m really considering joining you as a throuple…just so you both know.”
Demetri smirked.
“I don’t want Caius to kick my ass. He will get that stick out of his ass soon.”
You stood up. How were you going to face him? The two of you shared this mind-blowing, passionate kiss, and now you had to act as if nothing had happened.
“I guess we shall see. In the meantime, I’m going to get drunk.”
You replied. Heidi gave Demetri a look.
“We can go with you! Obviously not the drinking part, but we will go and keep you company.”
An hour later, you sat at a table with several empty shot glasses in front of you. Heidi, Demetri, and Felix all stared at you with concerned eyes.
“Maybe you should slow down?”
Felix suggested as you downed another drink.
“You know, Felix…you look great with brown contacts. I’m barely feeling anything…Maybe I am. I’m going to tell Caius to bite me. The motherfucker kisses me like that, then gets pissy when I try to be romantic. You know what, he just might…carry on.”
Felix pressed his lips together, fighting the urge to chuckle as Heidi grabbed your hand.
“Come dance with me. You’ve drunk enough.”
Once you were out on the dance floor, Felix turned to Demetri.
“She’s going to break a lot of hearts.”
Demetri nodded.
“Caius’ in particular. What do we tell the kings when we take her extra drunk ass home?”
Felix shrugged.
“We kept an eye on her, and she kept her clothes on. Oh, wait, Heidi just had to fix her dress. We should probably get her home.”
Meanwhile…
Caius sat on his throne in a mood from hell. He was so annoyed with himself that he couldn’t see straight. You kissed him. You actually kissed him. That was possibly the best kiss that he had ever had in his life, and he ruined it by being weak.
I was a typical useless man.
Caius grumbled. You hadn’t done anything wrong. In fact, you were being the opposite. You were trying to reassure him. He could feel it. You weren’t Athenadora and were so far from it. If you had been like Athenadora, you would have been pestering him with stupid, useless wants. You hadn’t asked him for a thing...just that perfect kiss.
Why am I acting like a teenage girl?
Caius thought as Marcus came in with an annoyed-looking Aro. Both sat down before turning to look at him. Caius made note that Marcus wasn’t trying to kill him, so clearly he didn’t know.
“Why are you so moody, brother?”
Aro asked. Caius groaned.
“How about you don’t speak to me. I don’t have the patience today.”
Aro started to say something, but Marcus cut in.
“I would prefer that the two of you not argue today. I don’t have the patience for it. Have either of you seen my daughter?”
Aro turned to Marcus, thankful for someone to have a conversation with.
“No, I have not. She’s probably being the Hide and Seek World Champion. I did see her earlier with Heidi and Demetri. I’m sure she’s just fine. Hopefully safe from ridiculously hurtful idiots.”
Caius’ head slowly turned to Aro, looking at him like a lion about to stalk its next meal.
“You have about five seconds before I come after you.”
Marcus held his hands up.
“Please stop. What is going on?”
Aro turned to Caius.
“Are you telling him or am I?”
Caius raised an eyebrow.
“Fine. Marcus, I kissed your daughter…or she kissed me. Not that it matters what matters is the fact that I ruined everything and you have nothing to worry about.”
Marcus stared at Caius with wide eyes before turning to look at Aro.
“And you knew?”
Aro nodded.
“Indeed. Y/n was upset. Is it the least of your worries that I know?”
Marcus turned to Caius again. The bloody bond. It appeared that no matter what he said, the bond would happen.
“What did you do?”
Caius groaned.
“Can’t you take comfort in the fact I came out looking like a jerk and go in peace?”
“Absolutely not.”
Caius stood up and started to pace.
“We were talking, then kissed. I had a rather weak moment and asked her not to hurt me. She said she wasn’t Athenadora. I lost my temper, and here we are. I know about the bond that you saw! I also know that you told her to stay away from me.”
It was Marcus’ turn to look surprised.
“How did you find out?”
Caius glared at Aro.
“A giant bird with a big mouth told me!”
“Aro.”
Marcus groaned. Aro held his hands up.
“I had no one to talk to! You didn’t want to talk, and it was him. Besides, Marcus, you know Caius would technically be the best for Y/n. He can protect her properly. Do you really want her dating some stupid human that would break her heart and die? Do you want to see her hurt?”
Marcus glared at Caius again.
“Look what he’s gone and done.”
“He has trauma.”
Aro said, trying to sound soothing. Caius stopped pacing to glare at the other kings. Aro was back to being close to being attacked.
“He can hear you.”
Aro smirked.
“I think we need to allow events to happen and see how it goes. Marcus, you’re her father, and you will always worry, but remember, they will be here where you can see everything.”
Marcus wasn’t happy. He didn’t like the situation one bit. Marcus knew Caius’ temper and tendency to be a sadist. Did Marcus think Caius would intentionally hurt you? He didn’t know. The last thing Marcus wanted was for you to be injured in one of Caius’ fucked up moods.
Marcus knew that Caius was good to Athenadora. In fact, he spoiled her. He could only hope that if things progressed between the two of you, Caius would be as good to you.
“Fine.”
Marcus said while Caius sat down with a huff.
“If he hurts her…”
Aro held up a hand.
“Then I’ll let the two of you deal with each other. Whoever is in the wrong will have to deal with the consequences of their actions."
A few hours later, Felix walked in with your sleeping body in his arms. Aro, Marcus, and Caius all stood with matching expressions on concern on their faces.
“What the hell?”
Caius snapped as Marcus reached out to take you from Felix.
“She wanted to go out drinking, and she did. We were with her. Fascinating how half-breeds have such a large alcohol tolerance. We kept her safe.”
Heidi handed Aro one of your shoes.
“She kept her clothes on, but we aren’t sure where her other shoe went. I’ll go find some medicine for tomorrow. I think she will need it.”
Aro nodded, looking at your one shoe.
“I think that may be a good idea.”
Both Felix and Heidi glanced at a very annoyed Caius. That was all the proof that they needed to see that Caius cared.
The next morning, you woke up at the bottom of your bed. It wasn’t often that you slept; it usually seemed to be when you were drunk. Sitting up, you rubbed your hand over your eyes.
This is why I don’t drink. Christ on a cracker, this sucks.
You thought before getting up. The last memories you had of the night before were dancing with Heidi. Somehow, you got home and in bed. You made a mental note to thank whoever it was.
Walking out of your room and into the throne room, you were met with automatic frowns from Marcus, Aro, and Caius.
“Good morning to you all, too.”
You said as Marcus stood up.
“What were you thinking last night?”
You groaned as Aro stood and started walking circles around you.
“I watched Supernatural, and the angel drank a liquor store. I decided to give it a shot. I don’t recommend it. Why are you circling me like that? Are you trying to be a vulture?”
Aro sighed.
“Because if you were hungover, this would make you dizzy.”
You groaned.
“Congratulations, I am hungover. I’m about to ruin your fancy shoes.”
Marcus hadn’t looked away from your face. Aro quickly stepped back. He spent too much money on the shoes that he was wearing to be vomited on.
“You could have been hurt, darling. I would like you to be more careful.”
You nodded, not feeling like arguing. Glancing at Caius, he glared at you as if you had personally offended him. At least he didn’t come along. You could have slept with him and dipped before the sun came up, but you didn’t.
I have some morals.
You thought with a cheeky smirk.
“Okay, no more benders for me. Can I go?”
Marcus nodded as Aro attempted to fix your hair.
“Yes, dear.”
You turned and walked from the room without another word. It was time to go nurse your poor, pathetic self back to health and happiness. It would have been great to nurse this hangover with but you had to work with what you had. At the moment, that was a lot of nothing.
An hour later, you lay looking out at the gloomy mid-morning afternoon.
“I hope you know what you did was incredibly stupid.”
Frowning, you looked up, seeing Caius glaring at you. He stood with that haughty frown on his face, glaring at you as if he were surveying a bug.
“Yeah, I got the message. Wait, how the fuck did you find me? I’m hiding.”
Caius raised an eyebrow. Was this the bond in the making?
“I just found you. How could you think going out with humans was a good idea? You could have been hurt.”
“And I know how to fight. Caius, if you are going to stand here and berate me, at least lower your volume. Like I told Aro, I will ruin your fancy shoes.”
Caius crossed his arms over his chest.
“I’m barely speaking to you.”
“Oh.”
You replied before putting your head back down on the pillow.
“It was still stupid.”
You sat back up, a little too quickly.
“You don’t get to boss me around. You think one kiss gives you that right? You can go fuck right off.”
Those words left your mouth before you even thought of the weight. If Caius was going to kill you, this would be a great moment for it. Instead, he looked rather amused.
“You’re so pathetically sassy. Even if you did gain a man’s attention, that mouth of yours would drive them crazy.”
“Yet here you stand.”
You replied. Caius sighed, sounding defeated. You really were the most difficult woman that he had ever come across. He could walk away, but he didn’t want to at the same time. Moving to sit down beside you, Caius watched as you put a hand over your eyes.
“I assume you have a headache.”
“You would be right.”
You said, wishing that mortal pain pills would touch this shit show of a headache.
“Come here.”
Your hand lowered slowly. For a moment, you thought you were delirious. Caius stared at you with his typical frown, but something was different. His voice had a slight softness to it, like the day before when he asked you not to hurt him.
"I said, come here."
Without needing to be told twice, you carefully crawled onto Caius’ lap. Placing a leg on either side of his body, you snuggled your face against his shoulder.
The fuck is this?
You thought, keeping one eye open. Is this when he killed you? Closing your eyes, you breathed in his scent. This was intimate, like the kiss. You made a mental note to try not to say anything stupid.
“Stop worrying about things that do not matter at this moment.”
Caius said as his hand stroked up through your hair. Lying his cheek against your head, Caius closed his eyes. Marcus was right. This was a bond. This was the proverbial lightning striking his heart, and Caius no longer cared.
He thought that he had felt this with Athenadora. It turns out that Caius was very wrong. He tolerated Athenadora. You were different. You would keep him on his toes. Caius was ready to tear anyone apart when it came to you.
The two of you sat in silence for a moment before Caius spoke.
“Be mine.”
You sat up, looking at him carefully.
“Please don’t play games with me. I’m feeling fragile.”
Something in Caius’ eyes was different. This was the look that would only be reserved for you.
“You? Fragile? Oh please. I’m sorry about yesterday. You didn’t deserve that. She wasn’t worth getting that upset over. I only thought that she was. You’re different…we have a bond. Your father saw it too. You should feel grateful. That’s my once-in-a-century apology.”
“To think my father told me to stay away from you.”
Caius rolled his eyes.
“I gave him hell over it, too.”
“That’s probably how you found me when I was hiding.”
Caius’ eyes rolled up to your face.
“I’ll always be able to find you. I can’t stay away…no matter what your insane uncle and father have to say.”
You winced thinking about how Marcus and Aro had to behave. It probably wasn’t a pretty sight.
“How you haven’t choked them by now is a mystery to me.”
Caius smirked.
“Unending mercy, my darling. Now enough talking about them, I want to taste those perfect lips again.”
Caius quickly pulled you into another hungry kiss. This kiss rivaled the one from the day before. If you could have been left breathless, this would have been the one that could have done you in.
When you pulled away, you kept your mouth close. If he wanted to kiss again, you wouldn’t object.
“God, you’re dreamy.”
You murmured. Caius gave you one of those rare smiles that you would soon come to adore.
“You get the side of me that no one else sees. It’s a rarity. I hope you enjoy it.”
“I do. I’m glad I decided not to be a lesbian.”
Caius’ red eyes fluttered open. He immediately looked confused.
“I’m sorry?”
You giggled, twirling a strand of his hair around your finger.
“I told Heidi that I was going to be a lesbian after our little tiff yesterday. I don’t want to kiss another man like. It’s hard to beat a first kiss like that.”
Caius’ eyes widened. Your first kiss? He was your first kiss?
“That was your first kiss?”
He asked. You nodded.
“It was nice too.”
Caius rolled his eyes. Maybe the kiss was nice, but the situation sucked ass.
“Minus my ridiculous tantrum. I can, at least, make sealing our bond romantic.”
He watched your face for any signs of apprehension.
“And that’s done how?”
You questioned. Caius reached up, cupping your cheek. You were his weakness. If he needed to find an Achilles heel for himself, you were it.
“Sex.”
He said simply.
Oh, hot damn, I am getting all of my firsts with this man.
You thought before giggling nervously.
“Oh…well….I wouldn’t complain. I uh have never done that before.”
Caius smirked.
“I had a feeling. Considering you have never been kissed, I would have been astounded and worried if you had sex with some other man. I would also want to tear him to shreds.”
You unbuttoned the first three buttons of Caius’ red shirt.
“Maybe we should get that part officially taken care of?”
Caius pulled you a little more tightly against him.
“You don’t seem so cocky now, love. Look at you, wanting to give yourself to me so quickly.”
“Oh I’m still cocky. I’m just giving you a reason not to shred some random dude to shreds.”
Caius chuckled. That mouth of yours was going to be the death of him yet.
“We do this, and I can’t stay away.”
“Who said I wanted you to?”
You replied. That was enough for Caius. He stood keeping your body in his arms.
“I’m not gentle, Y/n. I’ll be gentle with you this once, but after that, you get what you get.”
Caius wasn’t stopping. Now that he had your consent, you were all his. There would be no worry about having to potentially kill some other vampire over you. You were his queen, and anyone who tried anything would be dead.
Dead is good enough.
Caius thought coldly as he closed the door to his chambers with his foot.
“You have one more chance to back out.”
Caius said, carefully. He knew that you wouldn’t, but it would look better than just having his way with you and not being considerate. You finished unbuttoning his shirt before batting your eyes.
“If I didn’t want to be with you, I would have kneed you in the balls by now.”
You were relieved when Caius chuckled.
“Something tells me that you would do just that, too.”
Stroking your hand down his chest, you stopped at a scar that ran across.
“Werewolves.”
Caius said simply. The anger had returned to his eyes. You nodded and began to undo your dress.
“You’re still perfect.”
You commented as your dress dropped. Caius’ eyes widened, looking over your nearly naked body. Chuckling, you took his hand and placed it on your breast.
“No matter the species, when a man sees a pair of boobs, he goes to pieces.”
Caius shook his head.
“Stop being a comedian and get into the moment.”
He reached out and ripped the bra right off your chest. You blinked a few times as he lifted your body and carried you to the bed.
“Too bad that I can’t just keep you naked. In here, that’s what it’s going to be.”
Dropping you on the bed, Caius wiggled out of the rest of his clothes before taking his place over you.
“This will hurt.”
You nodded. There had been enough stories for you to know this wasn’t going to be a painless task. Judging from his size, you weren’t about to get away pain-free.
“I know.”
You said. Caius raised an eyebrow as he toyed with your nipple.
“You don’t sound so bloody sure of yourself now, darling.”
Rolling your eyes, you reached up and pulled him down for another kiss.
“Shut up and get to work.”
You grumbled, earning a small laugh from him. Caius teased your lips a little longer before kissing and licking his way to your breasts. The moment his mouth locked on your nipple, you whimpered. Caius slipped his hand between your body to tease your clit. Your hips jerked and your back arched.
His red eyes rolled to your face.
“Easy, love. You’ll have to get used to me touching you. I’m going to be spending a lot of time touching you.”
Caius went back to sucking hungrily at your nipples. He bit down enough to draw blood. Caius closed his eyes, his tongue licking every drop.
“You taste like heaven, my darling.”
Lifting up, Caius moved up enough to kiss you once more, his tongue teasing yours.
“Now for what I really want.”
Kissing his way back down your body, Caius slipped off of the bed onto his knees. He watched your face for any signs of regret. Seeing none, he gently spread your legs apart. Biting his lip, the swell of desire returned yet again.
She’s all mine.
Caius thought before moving to kiss your inner thighs.
“These will look so pretty with garters on them.”
He mumbled, making future plans on how he would dress you like his personal doll.
You gasped the moment he bit down on your thigh. Looking down, you watched as Caius closed his eyes, enjoying every drop. When his eyes opened, he looked at you as if judging how you would react to his action.
“You are heaven.”
He murmured, kissing the wound and moving back to your lower body.
“Time to make you feel good, angel. Are you ready for your first orgasm?”
You only nodded. Your snide, snarky side was off and replaced with a nervous girl that you weren’t familiar with. The moment Caius licked a strip over your clit, you nearly came off the bed.
“Easy, love.”
Caius murmured before going back to your clit, sucking and teasing you until you were gasping.
“I think this is it.”
You whimpered. Caius looked up at you and replaced his tongue with his fingers. Rubbing harshly, he watched your face for the inevitable moment.
You cried his name as the feeling of being pushed over the edge consumed you. Caius quickly moved back up to hold your face close to his.
“That’s it, angel. I’m going to keep doing this to you. You’ll only be able to moan my name. Keep going, I know you feel good.”
It took a few seconds before you could open your eyes.
“Wow.”
You murmured as Caius leaned in to kiss you.
“Did you like that?”
You nodded.
“I see what the movies are talking about now.”
Caius chuckled, letting his fingers go back to stroking your pussy. This time, he stopped at your opening.
“Wait until I get inside of you.”
You swallowed, spreading your legs a bit more.
“Hurry up already.”
Caius moved to take his place on top of you.
“As you wish.”
He murmured before slowly beginning to push inside. With each inch, you were beginning to become uncomfortably full. You gently tried to push Caius back, but he stopped you.
“No. Don’t push me away. Just one more…l
He snapped his hips, shoving through your barrier. You cried out as he wrapped his arms around you, gently shushing you.
“It’s over, angel. You did well. I’m going to move.”
You only nodded as Caius began to slowly rock his hips. He kept a watchful eye on your face. It took only a few seconds before your mouth made a perfect “O.”
“Caius, I need you to go harder.”
That was all of the information he needed. Totally withdrawing, Caius flipped you on your belly. You whimpered as he pulled you up by your hips, then shoved back in.
“Like that? I’m going to be fucking you like this a lot. Look at me, I want to see those pretty eyes while I fuck you sore.”
You did as you were told, focusing on the delicious feeling between your legs.
“I’m close.”
You whimpered. Caius closed his eyes, increasing the speed of his hips.
“Hurry up, woman. I don’t have all day.”
He said through gritted teeth. It took two more thrusts before you were finishing again. This time, you were pretty sure the world went dark for a brief second.
Caius’ hands tightened on your hips as he moaned your name and oh god before filling you.
Neither of you moved for a moment. Caius was the first to pull away. He withdrew, then lay down beside you, gathering you into his arms. You placed your head on your chest. Neither of you spoke for a moment.
Caius stroked his hand through your hair, wondering how he was going to explain this to Marcus.
Fuck Marcus. It was my decision.
He thought before smirking at the thought of the expression on Aro and Marcus’ faces. They knew there was a bond between the two of you. They would have to accept it or get over it.
“Are you okay?”
Caius finally asked. Maybe he should check on you after a first fucking…making love…
Maybe I should be more romantic?
Caius thought as you kissed his cheek.
“Perfect. So the bond is good?”
“Yes, all I can feel is you. You’re all mine, darling.”
(Meanwhile)
Aro and Marcus sat in the throne room. Neither had seen Caius in hours.
“Do you think?”
Aro stated. Marcus held a hand up.
“I don’t want to know. Speak no further.”
Aro was quiet for a moment before speaking.
“Should we have the sex talk with them? We don’t need another Cullen situation. I don’t know if Y/n will be able to get into that condition. You’re her father. You should talk to her.”
Marcus’ eyes rolled over to Aro. If he hadn’t been sitting down, he might have fallen down.
“No, we do not. We have no information on the subject. I am not having the sex talk with Caius. You are the leader of this. You do it.”
Aro started to comment that they were better off finding a human pamphlet on the subject, but stopped when the door opened. Felix stepped in with Athenadora behind him.
Oh fuck.
Aro muttered before standing.
“Athenadora. What a surprise. “
Athenadora nodded and smiled politely before looking to where Caius typically sat.
“I came to see Caius. Where is my dear husband?”
Aro and Marcus exchanged glances. It took all Aro had not to say "You're dear husband is somewhere with my niece under him calling him daddy” but he also didn’t want to need to wash his mouth out.
“Don’t you mean ex-husband?”
Athenadora smirked.
“Whatever. Where is he?”
Aro pressed his lips together.
“He’s busy. We can tell him that you dropped by.”
Athenadora shook her head, sitting down. She wasn’t about to take this as an option. Placing her handbag on her lap, she gave Aro a small smile.
“I’ll wait for him.”
Aro glanced at Marcus again. This day just kept getting better.
Hello can you write about James and Victoria x reader please
Safe Haven - James & Victoria x Reader- Twilight
Y/N was curled up on the couch with a book in her lap, eyes drifting to the door every few minutes waiting for her mates to arrive.
They left for a hunt few hours ago, claiming they would be back before noon. She wasn’t worried about them exactly, they were just feeding, but whenever she was left alone the pull felt painful in her chest.
After half an hour, the door creaked open and she closed the book incorporating herself, letting out a sigh of relief.
“Finally, took you long enough.” She complained crossing her arms over her chest.
He dropped onto the couch beside her, his arm wrapping around her shoulders pulling her in for a quick kiss. “Miss us, sweet thing?” He asked smirking.
“You know the answer.” She murmured leaning back into his chest, planting a small kiss on his cheek. “Where is Vic?” She asked looking around.
“Don’t be greedy, girl, i’m right here.” Victoria said walking though the door a moment later, she crossed the room in a blur and cupped her face gently, locking her eyes with hers.
“You are cold.” She said accusingly, looking at James. “You left the fire low again, you know how fragile our little human is.”
“It’s okay I was all cozy here guys. Don’t start arguing now that you are here.” She murmured wrapping her arms around both of them.
Victoria rolled her eyes as she leaned back into the cuddle, her hands brushing their human hair back softly as she left a kiss on her forehead. James did the same, his left arm stretching to wrap around Victoria too, holding both of his girls.
“I’m hungry, probably going to have dinner soon.” She said cleaning her throat, her stomach grumbling and her cheeks going red at the fact they could hear it perfectly.
“You know…” James murmured against her skin with a chuckle. “we could have brought you something fresh. A little snack. You sound a bit starved.”
She laughed, her hand smacking his chest. “No, thanks. I prefer having real food for dinner and not type O blood.”
Victoria lifted her head, joining the joke without missing a beat. She leaned in closer, brushing her nose along her jaw with a soft hum. “He is right though. We could share.” She teased.
James laughed, his hand squeezing her hip. “See? Even Vic agrees. We are excellent providers.”
She groaned but she couldn’t stop the laugh that scaped her. Victoria fingers poked her side gently tickling her while James pretended to bite her neck.
“Oh my god, stop.” she wheezed between laughs, shoving at Jame shoulder while leaning into Victoria. “You two are the worst.”
“You love us.” James said pressing a loud kiss to her cheek.
After a while she let their voices wash over her, eyes drifting shut as James hand rubbed slow circles on her back and Victoria kept playing with her hair, occasionally pressing a kiss to her forehead.
“I love you.” she whispered before falling asleep.
James arms tightened. “Love you more, baby.“
Victoria smiled against her hair. “We love you most.”
Outside, the rain kept falling, the sound relaxing and helping her sleep as the they stayed tangled together.
Well — quiet for the vampire den tucked beneath the cliffs of Santa Carla.
The distant crash of waves echoed through the tunnels while candlelight flickered softly against the stone walls, casting everything gold and warm. Dwayne sat stretched out on the old couch near the back of the cave, one arm draped lazily around your waist while you rested against his chest.
A half-finished bottle of wine sat abandoned on the table nearby.
You traced absentminded patterns over the rings on his fingers while he played with strands of your hair.
Neither of you had spoken in several minutes.
Not because anything was wrong.
Just because being around Dwayne had always been strangely easy.
“You’re staring again,” you murmured.
“I know.”
You smiled without looking up. “Creepy.”
His chest rumbled softly with a laugh.
Dwayne tilted his head down slightly, eyes half-lidded as he looked at you. Even after all this time, his attention still made your stomach flutter embarrassingly fast.
“You’re comfortable,” he said simply.
“As opposed to?”
“Everyone else.”
You snorted. “That sounds vaguely insulting.”
“It wasn’t.”
You looked up then, meeting those dark, impossibly soft eyes of his.
God.
Dwayne never talked much about how he felt, which made moments like this hit twice as hard.
“You’re comfortable too,” you admitted quietly.
A smug little smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. “I know.”
“Oh, shut up.”
He grinned properly this time — rare enough on its own — before leaning down to kiss you.
Slow.
Lazy.
The kind of kiss that didn’t need urgency behind it.
One of his hands slid along your jaw while yours curled loosely into the front of his shirt. The world melted away into warmth and candlelight and the familiar scent of leather and smoke clinging to him.
Then—
“OH COME ON.”
You jumped apart instantly.
Paul stood near the cave entrance looking personally offended, arms spread dramatically while Marko cackled beside him carrying several greasy bags of boardwalk food.
“Are you serious?” Paul groaned loudly. “I’m traumatized.”
“You literally flirt with anything that breathes,” you shot back.
“Yeah, but I don’t wanna see him happy.”
Marko nearly doubled over laughing.
Behind them, David wandered into the cave carrying his bottle of Chinese takeout completely unbothered.
He took one glance at you half-curled in Dwayne’s lap.
Then at Dwayne.
Then sighed.
“Finally,” David muttered. “Thought you two were gonna keep doing that weird longing stare thing forever.”
You blinked. “You noticed that?”
“All of us noticed that,” Marko said immediately.
Paul pointed accusingly. “It was disgusting. Every night it was all—” he clasped his hands dramatically to his chest and stared at Marko with fake intensity, “‘Y/N… pass me the bottle.’”
Marko burst into hysterics while Paul continued, “‘Dwayne… are you cold?’”
“I do not sound like that,” you argued.
“You totally do,” Paul said.
Dwayne, meanwhile, looked entirely unbothered by the chaos unfolding around him. One hand still rested casually on your hip like he refused to acknowledge the interruption at all.
Marko tossed a bag of fries toward the couch. “Anyway, lovebirds, we brought food.”
“You stole food,” David corrected flatly.
Paul gasped dramatically. “David, that is such an ugly accusation.”
“You paid for none of this.”
“Okay but in my defense,” Paul said seriously, “capitalism is oppressive.”
You laughed so suddenly you snorted.
The entire cave went silent.
Paul immediately pointed at you. “I heard that.”
“Oh my god.”
Marko collapsed against the wall wheezing while even David looked mildly entertained now.
Dwayne looked down at you with the softest expression imaginable, thumb brushing gently across your side.
“There it is again,” Paul complained.
“What?”
“That look.” He gagged theatrically. “He’s doing the look.”
“You’re jealous,” you teased.
“Damn right I am. Nobody looks at me like that.”
Marko patted his shoulder. “Tragic.”
Dwayne ignored all of them completely.
His forehead rested lightly against yours while the others bickered in the background over stolen fries and who ate the last chili dog.
“You okay?” he asked quietly.
Your heart melted a little.
“I’m perfect.”
He smiled softly before kissing you again anyway — slower this time, sweeter.

can you do an angst Dwayne x reader. Where she catches him cheating on her at a bar or the boardwalk and he tries to win her heart again…but to no avail.
Omg I’ve skipped over this completely wth I am so sorry! Here you go honey ❤️
The boy who couldn’t keep her (Dwayne x reader)
The neon lights of the boardwalk blurred together in streaks of pink and blue as you wandered between crowds of tourists, the salty air clinging to your skin. Music drifted from the arcade behind you, muffled by the crashing waves below the cliffs.
You were supposed to be meeting Dwayne.
Late again.
Not unusual.
Still, something sat wrong in your chest tonight.
You spotted Paul first — laughing too loudly outside a bar near the concert venue. Marko was leaning against the railing beside him, cigarette glowing between his fingers. Neither of them noticed you. Or maybe they did and chose not to say anything.
Then you heard her laugh.
Soft. Flirtatious.
Familiar in the worst way.
Your stomach twisted as you stepped closer to the open side door of the bar.
And there he was.
Dwayne sat in a shadowed booth with a girl practically in his lap, his hand resting low on her waist while she whispered something into his ear. He smirked faintly — that same lazy, beautiful smirk that once made you weak in the knees.
The girl tilted her head.
He kissed her.
Not hesitant.
Not drunk.
Not accidental.
Your entire body went cold.
For a second, you couldn’t breathe over the roaring in your ears.
Paul noticed you first. His grin vanished instantly.
“Shit.”
Dwayne looked up.
The second his eyes met yours, the color drained from his face.
You stepped back before he could move.
“Wait—”
You turned and shoved through the crowd, heart pounding so hard it hurt. The boardwalk lights smeared through your tears. Behind you, boots slammed against wood.
“Y/N!”
You ignored him.
“Y/N, stop!”
His hand caught your wrist near the rail overlooking the beach below. You ripped it away so fast it startled even him.
“Don’t touch me.”
The words came out broken.
Dwayne stared at you, breathing hard. Up close, he looked panicked — genuinely panicked — and somehow that made it worse.
“It’s not what you think.”
You laughed bitterly, wiping angrily at your cheeks. “Really? Because it looked exactly like cheating to me.”
“She didn’t mean anything.”
“Oh, that makes it better?” Your voice cracked. “God, Dwayne…”
People passed behind you, oblivious to the scene unfolding under flickering carnival lights.
He reached for you again slower this time, cautious like approaching a wounded animal. “Listen to me.”
“No. You listen.” Tears burned down your face now. “I defended you to everyone. Everyone said you’d hurt me eventually, but I trusted you.”
His jaw tightened.
“I love you,” he said quietly.
You shook your head immediately. “You don’t do that to someone you love.”
For once, Dwayne had nothing clever to say.
No cocky grin.
No smooth excuse.
Just silence.
And guilt.
You stepped away from him. “We’re done.”
The words visibly hit him.
“Don’t say that.”
“We’re done.”
“No.” He moved in front of you desperately now. “I’ll fix it.”
“You can’t.”
For the first time since you’d known him, his eyes looked afraid.
—
The boys stopped seeing you around after that.
You avoided the boardwalk when you could. Avoided the cave entirely. Avoided every song, every alley, every stupid leather jacket that reminded you of him.
But Dwayne didn’t stop trying.
Flowers appeared outside your window, even though you lived on the second floor.
Your favorite CDs mysteriously ended up in your mailbox.
You’d wake up to pebbles tapping softly against your glass at midnight only to find him standing below with his hands shoved into his coat pockets.
Every time, you ignored him.
It destroyed him slowly.
Paul mentioned once — quietly, almost awkwardly — that Dwayne hadn’t fed properly in weeks.
You didn’t answer.
One night, he caught you leaving the video store near closing time.
Rain poured heavily over Santa Carla, soaking the streets in silver reflections. He stepped out from under a flickering streetlamp, hair damp around his face.
“You’re avoiding me.”
You kept walking.
“Please.”
That word stopped you.
Not because you forgave him.
Because you’d never heard him say it before.
You turned slowly. “Why are you still doing this?”
“Because I love you.”
“You loved me while kissing someone else too?”
His expression crumpled.
You hated that part most — how broken he looked. Because a part of you still loved him enough for it to hurt.
“I was stupid,” he said hoarsely. “I thought… I don’t know what I thought.”
“No,” you whispered. “You just didn’t think about me at all.”
Rain drenched both of you now.
“I can change.”
“You already changed.” Your voice shook violently. “Into someone I don’t recognize anymore.”
Dwayne looked like you’d stabbed him.
Maybe you had.
He stepped closer carefully. “Tell me what to do.”
“You leave me alone.”
Silence.
The rain hit pavement between you.
Finally, he nodded once.
Small.
Defeated.
You watched his throat bob as he swallowed hard.
Then he whispered, “Okay.”
And somehow that hurt more than the fighting.
He let you walk away this time.
Didn’t follow.
Didn’t beg.
You never saw him on the boardwalk again after that.
But sometimes, late at night, when the wind carried music from the carnival down your street, you’d catch yourself looking out the window anyway — half-expecting to see a tall vampire in black standing beneath the streetlight waiting for a second chance that would never come.

I hope you enjoyed! Reminder: requests are open 🥰.
Getting along (Alec volturi x reader and Platonic Jane volturi x reader)
The first time Jane Volturi met you, she stared at you like you were something unpleasant stuck to the bottom of her shoe.
Which, admittedly, wasn’t the warmest welcome.
You stood awkwardly beside Alec Volturi in the massive throne room, painfully aware of your heartbeat echoing through the silent chamber. Every vampire in the room could hear it. Especially Jane.
Her crimson eyes narrowed slightly as she circled you once.
“A human,” she said flatly. Alec’s expression didn’t change. “Yes.”
Jane looked personally offended by this information. “You brought a human here.”
“She is my mate.” That stopped her for exactly two seconds. “And?” Jane replied.
You tried not to look intimidated. Failed a little.
Alec sighed quietly through his nose, already sounding exhausted. “Jane.”
“What?” she asked innocently, though the glint in her eyes said otherwise. “I simply don’t understand why you’re attached to something so fragile.”
You opened your mouth to defend yourself, but Alec beat you to it. “She is important to me,” he said firmly. “That should be enough.”
Jane crossed her arms, unconvinced. From then on, things were… difficult.
Not openly hostile—mostly because Alec would never allow that—but Jane clearly disliked having you around. She disappeared whenever you entered a room, gave one-word answers when you spoke to her, and occasionally stared at you like she was imagining creative ways to kill you.
Alec noticed every single thing. “She’ll come around,” he promised one evening while the two of you sat together in his room. You smiled weakly. “Your sister hates me.”
“She doesn’t hate you.”
“She threatened to throw me off a tower yesterday.” Alec considered that. “That’s actually progress.” You laughed despite yourself, and his expression softened immediately at the sound.
The truth was, you understood why Jane struggled.
You were human. Weak. Temporary. To the Volturi, humans were little more than decoration—or food. But Alec loved you anyway.
And Jane loved Alec more than anyone in the world.
Which meant she saw you as a risk. So instead of giving up, you tried harder. You started small.
When the cooks prepared meals for you, you’d ask for enough for two and bring some to Jane’s room. She usually claimed she didn’t want any.
But after the third time, you noticed the plate always came back empty. You invited her to sit with you in the library while you read. She pretended she was only there because the room was quiet.
You asked her opinion on dresses before gatherings, even though she acted annoyed every time. And slowly—very slowly—Jane stopped leaving every time you entered a room.
One afternoon, you found her sitting alone near the castle gardens, looking unusually bored.
You hesitated before approaching. “I’m going into the town nearby.”
Jane glanced at you lazily. “Why?”
“I wanted new paints.”
“You paint?”
“A little.”
Silence.
Then—
“You’re terrible at it, I assume.”
You grinned. “Probably.”
Jane looked away for a moment before standing abruptly. “I’m coming with you.”
You blinked. “Really?”
“I have nothing else to do.”
But she stayed close to you the entire trip.
That had been all Aro needed to see in Jane’s memory.
“A painting evening!” he announced dramatically. You should’ve known better.
Now the grand throne room had somehow transformed into a studio filled with canvases, brushes, and enough paint to concern everyone involved. Marcus looked like he would rather walk directly into sunlight.
“I do not understand why I’m here,” he said flatly from his throne. “Because art feeds the soul, Marcus!” Aro replied. “I no longer possess one.”
Meanwhile, Jane Volturi sat beside you looking deeply offended by the entire concept. “This is ridiculous.”
“You’ve said that six times.”
“Because it continues to be true.”
Despite her complaints, though, Jane hadn’t left. Which already felt like progress. You smiled to yourself as you mixed colors on your palette. Across the room, Alec Volturi leaned silently against one of the pillars, arms crossed as he watched everything unfold.
Mostly, he was watching you and Jane. Specifically, the fact that Jane was voluntarily sitting beside you. That alone nearly qualified as a historical event.
Then there was Caius.
Unlike everyone else, Caius had not complained once. In fact… he looked intensely focused.
You glanced over curiously—and froze.
“Oh my god.”
Jane followed your stare. Caius’s canvas was stunning.
Not decent. Not surprisingly okay.
Stunning.
The details were impossibly precise: a moonlit landscape overlooking Volterra, painted with elegant brushstrokes and rich shadows that looked almost alive.
Even Marcus looked mildly impressed.
Aro gasped theatrically. “Caius! You’ve been withholding talent from us!”
Caius barely looked up from his work. “Unlike the rest of you, I do not approach things incompetently.”
Jane stared at the painting in disbelief. “Why is it actually good?”
“Because I painted it properly.” You leaned forward, genuinely amazed. “That’s incredible.”
For the first time all evening, Caius paused.
His red eyes flicked toward you carefully, as though judging whether you were mocking him.
You weren’t.
“I mean it,” you said quickly. “The lighting is beautiful.”
A strange silence followed. Then Caius looked back at his painting with the faintest hint of satisfaction. Jane blinked. “…Did you just compliment Caius?”
“Yes?”
“You’re either very brave or deeply stupid.”
“Both can be true.” Alec covered his mouth briefly, hiding what looked suspiciously like a smile. The evening continued after that, oddly calmer than before.
At one point, Caius unexpectedly corrected your brush technique when he passed by your canvas.
“You’re using too much pressure,” he said. You looked up. “Can you show me?”
Jane nearly dropped her brush. Caius narrowed his eyes slightly, but after a moment he stepped beside you and took the brush carefully from your hand.
“Like this,” he said stiffly, demonstrating a softer stroke. “The paint blends more evenly.”
“Oh,” you said honestly. “That’s actually really helpful.” Jane looked utterly scandalized. “You’re accepting painting advice from Caius.”
“You say that like he isn’t clearly amazing at it.”
Caius looked smug immediately. Aro was having the time of his immortal life. “Look at this!” he exclaimed. “Art bringing everyone together!”
“It is not bringing everyone together,” Jane muttered. But then you turned toward her with a grin. “Can you help me pick a background color?”
Jane opened her mouth to refuse automatically—
Then paused.
“…Fine.”
Alec noticed instantly.
His expression softened in a way that made your chest ache a little. Because this—Jane sitting beside you while the two of you argued over paint colors, Caius silently offering criticism from nearby, Aro practically glowing with delight, Marcus pretending not to care while secretly observing all of it—
This was what Alec wanted.
Not peace in the political sense.
Not power.
Just his family getting along with you.
And somehow, through paint-covered hands and sarcastic commentary, it was finally happening.
Later, while Jane reluctantly helped clean paint from your fingers, Alec moved quietly beside her.
“You like her,” he murmured.
Jane scoffed immediately. “Don’t be absurd.”
Alec raised an eyebrow.
Jane looked away. “…She asked Caius for painting lessons without fear. That was moderately impressive.” Alec’s smile widened faintly.
Across the room, Caius overheard and looked unbearably pleased with himself. “Of course she was impressed,” he said coolly. “I am clearly the most talented one here.” Marcus stared at his own canvas. “You painted for six straight hours.”
“And?”
“That is the longest I’ve seen you willingly participate in anything.” Caius looked offended by the observation. You laughed so suddenly you nearly spilled paint again, and Jane—before she could stop herself—laughed too.
Alec looked between the two of you like the moment alone was enough to make the entire evening worth it. After that, things changed faster.
Jane began appearing beside you during meals. She listened when you spoke instead of ignoring you. Once, she even smirked when you made Alec roll his eyes—which felt like a massive achievement. The biggest shock came weeks later.
You were sitting in Alec’s chambers, attempting to braid Jane’s hair while she complained the entire time. “You’re pulling.”
“I’m not!”
“You are.”
“You’re dramatic.”
Jane scoffed. “I literally torture people for entertainment.”
“That doesn’t mean you’re not dramatic.” From the doorway came an unfamiliar sound.
Laughter.
You both turned. Alec stood there staring at the two of you, genuine happiness written all over his face. It softened his usually cold features so completely that your chest tightened.
Jane noticed immediately.
“Oh, don’t look at us like that,” she muttered.
“Like what?” Alec asked, though the smile tugging at his mouth gave him away.
“Like you’re emotional.”
“I am emotional.”
Jane looked horrified. You laughed quietly. “You’re making her uncomfortable.”
“I can see that.”
Alec crossed the room and leaned down beside your chair, brushing a kiss against your temple before glancing at his sister.
“Thank you,” he said softly.
Jane rolled her eyes instantly. “Disgusting.”
But there was no bite to it anymore.
Not really.
You reached over and took her hand dramatically. “Jane, I think this means we’re best friends now.”
“We are absolutely not best friends.”
Alec smiled faintly. “You braided her hair.” Jane froze. You grinned victoriously.
“…I hate both of you,” Jane muttered.
But she didn’t let go of your hand.
—————————— The end ————————————
I hope you all liked it! Reminder: Requests are open 🥰
The doors to the grand hall were closed, but you could still hear the low murmur of voices beyond them.
You sat on the edge of your bed for the hundredth time that night, fingers twisting anxiously in the fabric of your sleeves. The castle had been silent for weeks without Alec. Empty. Cold in a way even immortality couldn’t ignore.
He had been gone on one of Aro’s endless missions—some dispute in the south that required the Volturi guard’s attention—and every night since he left had stretched unbearably long.
You hadn’t slept once.
Not truly.
Then, finally, hours before dawn, you heard movement in the corridors.
The familiar scent reached you first.
Alec.
Your heart lurched.
Before you could think better of it, you were already out the door.
The stone floors blurred beneath your feet as you hurried through the castle halls, following the sound of voices toward the throne room. You barely registered the guards stationed outside before the doors swung open.
Inside, the three kings sat upon their thrones. Aro leaned forward with theatrical interest, crimson eyes gleaming. Marcus looked as indifferent as ever. Caius appeared moments away from irritation.
And standing before them—
Alec.
Alec Volturi turned at the sound of the doors opening.
For a second, neither of you moved. Then every ounce of restraint snapped.
“Alec!”
You crossed the room in an instant and threw yourself at him.
He caught you automatically, arms wrapping around your waist with enough force to lift you clean off the ground. A soft breath escaped him—almost a laugh, almost disbelief—as you buried your face into his shoulder.
“You’re back,” you whispered, clinging to him like he might disappear again.
His cool hand slid gently into your hair. “I’m back.”
The tension that had wound tight inside you for weeks unraveled all at once. You didn’t care that the kings were watching. Didn’t care that half the guard stood around the room.
You had missed him too much to care. “You were gone forever,” you muttered against his collar. “It was three weeks.” “That is forever.”
A faint smile tugged at Alec’s lips—small and rare and meant only for you.
“I would have returned sooner if I could.”
You pulled back just enough to look at him properly. His silver eyes softened under your gaze, exhaustion lingering beneath them despite his calm composure.
“You should’ve told me you were home,” you said accusingly. Alec tilted his head slightly. “I arrived less than five minutes ago.”
“That’s still too long.” Behind him, Aro let out a delighted laugh. “Oh, how lovely,” Aro said, clasping his hands together. “Such devotion.”
Caius looked thoroughly unimpressed. “You interrupted official business,” Caius snapped. You didn’t even glance at him. “I don’t care.”
Alec actually laughed then—a quiet, genuine sound that made your chest ache. Marcus’s eyes flicked between the two of you with mild interest. “The bond is… considerably calmer now that he’s returned.”
“Of course it is,” Aro mused dramatically. “She looked ready to tear the castle apart.” “I was not,” you argued weakly. Alec raised an eyebrow.
You avoided his gaze.
“…Maybe a little.”
His thumb brushed lightly across your cheek, impossibly tender for someone so feared by the world. “I missed you too,” he murmured softly. The words hit harder than they should have.
Your expression immediately melted, and you tucked yourself back against him without hesitation. Alec held you closer instantly, chin resting briefly atop your head as though it was the most natural thing in the world.
Aro sighed dreamily. “Ah, young love.”
Caius looked ready to banish both of you from the throne room.
“You may continue this elsewhere,” he said coldly.
But Alec made no move to put you down.
For once, he seemed perfectly content ignoring the kings entirely.
And honestly?
So were you.
—————————— The end ————————————
I hope you all liked it! Reminder: Requests are open 🥰
Another shift. Another day, you think, walking to the automatic doors of the hospital.
It’s bright, morning sunshine drifting through the massive windows. You move, your shoes tapping softly on the tile below.
Your feet guide you as muscle memory kick in. Starting your rounds, you stop at a familiar door.
Room 203.
Johnny Mctavish.
A Scottish man who’s been shot in the head.
And miraculously survived.
Johnny’s speech is slurred and sometimes hard to understand but you’re around enough you begin to get what he means.
Especially since he’s so insistent on flirting with you.
You walk inside room 203 with a warm smile, met with blue eyes and a loopy grin right back at you.
You’re a nurse.
Young, and kind.
Too sympathetic.
“Good morning Johnny, how you feelin’?”
You ask causally, drifting over to his side.
“G’morn.. feelin’ like… I died n’ went to heaven.. got n’ angel in fron’a meh.”
He smiles all big and toothy.
You warm and chuckle.
“Morphine got you feelin’ good huh, Johnny?”
“Yeh.. angel,”
You move closer, checking his IV.
“Good. I’ll be back with breakfast.”
Johnny leaned back in his bed, watching your hips shake as you walk, completely shameless.
…
Price wasn’t at the hospital for any good reason.
His comrade had been shot in the head.
And he wasn’t taking it well.
Carrying something heavy on his shoulders.
The steady beeping of soaps heart monitor was the only thing cutting the silence in the room.
Then.
The door opens.
..
By the time you come back, the room has changed.
You come in with a smile, assessing the room.
Tray of food in your hand that you carried as you marched down the white halls.
Johnny’s gone quiet.
Asleep.
Theres two extra people in the room, faces you’ve never seen before. Your eyes bounce to each man, clearly military despite not a spec of camouflage being in sight.
Sitting in the corner, a big man wearing a black surgical mask, dirty blonde hair, dark eyes lost in thought.
The other standing by Johnny’s bed, turns to face you.
He’s got rainy blue eyes, hairy cheeks and mustache. Wearing a fishing hat that catches your eye as misplaced.
“My name is y/n. I’ll be taking care of your friend here.”
You place the tray of food down at his bedside table.
Your hand reaches over Johnny—
The man in the skull mask stiffens, you catch it out of the corner of your eye.
“I’m not going to hurt him,” you assure with a smile.
“Just making sure his IV his clear.”
The masked man nods stiffly.
His eyes, just dark beads, watching your every move intently.
Your hands are steady as they return back to your pockets.
You smile at the men.
“Please let me know if I can do anything for any of you.”
You nod, sweet and simple.
Then leave.
…
Simons eyes never leave Johnny.
Price sighs..
“M’ gonna get a coffee.”
Unable to stay with the reminder of his mistakes.
His eyes hesitating before they land on Simon.
“Can I get you somethin’?”
He gets no response.
Taking a sharp breath he turns and shuts the door behind him with a soft click.
His legs carry him to the cafeteria but his mind is elsewhere entirely.
Going over the mission, the mistakes, what he should have done, where he should have been.
His thoughts spiral and melt into one big knot of anxiety.
Then-
Something calls his attention.
Lilac purple.
He sees you.
Smiling big, your expression light as you talk with another nurse.
He hears Johnnys name come from your lips, and stops in his tracks.
“Johnny.. the patient in room 203– his friends are really concerned I believe.. scary lot they are.”
You chuckle, but your expression falls quickly, more of a nervous tick than anything humorous.
“I wish I could give them a proper update… it’s just, their not proper family— I’m not allowed to say much.”
The nurse you chat with, shrugs looking unaffected by your sentiment.
“Well they can be scary somewhere else.”
She replies flatly.
Your face twists.
“Are you joking? They’re not causing a problem—“
“They could go home.”
She reminds with an eye roll, trying to look back at the clipboard in her hands.
You bite your tongue, but the words come out anyway.
Low.
Not wanting anyone to hear, but also not ashamed of it.
“No. If that was my friends- or family in there, you’d have to drag me out too.”
You say with such certainty, your coworker almost laughs.
Price stands watching from afar.
Like a statue hidden in shadows.
“And…they’re not your friends.”
Your coworker remind with mocking sweetness.
Price finally moves, taking a step closer.
He’s not in his uniform but still his presence demands attention.
Your coworker quickly busies herself, walking away muttering of better things to do.
You draw a polite smile to your face. The man is handsome, gruff features but eyes that seem more than just tired.
Worn.
Exhausted.
“I’m with—“
“Johnny. Room 203, right. I saw you.”
You nervously cut in. Your jaw clenching as you continue.
“How can I help you?”
The man is quiet for a moment. Shifting on his feet.
He breathes out.
“You’re the nurse assigned..”
“Yes sir,” you nod.
Your eyes scan over his form, his gaze down cast, shoulders tight.
You continue softer, already sure of what he wants to know.
“He doesn’t remember much, but… he’s strong willed. Talks to me daily. Always gets a flirt in.”
That makes the man chuckle.
It’s soft, and broken.
He shakes his head.
“That’s Johnny for ya..”
It’s quiet for a second.
You smile softly.
“You look tired… maybe I can offer you a coffee?”
His gaze find yours..
Scanning over you like you could be some threat.
He nods slowly, turning to follow your lead.
You join him with ease.
Leading to the cafeteria.
You buy two coffees, both black.
He takes it with a nod.
“Thank you...”
You smile back at him, nodding to the halls littered with doctors and nurses.
“Let’s walk.” You suggest.
He follows without word.
…
You two walk down the halls, the man quiet beside you, until.
“My name is Price.”
You look over, your lips parting.
You recognize the name.
“Captain John Price?”
That makes his steps falter.
He clears his throat.
“Soap talks bout me?”
He returns the question, his voice dropping.
“Johnny? Yeah. He gets confused but he knows you. He asks about his team, his captain mostly.”
You nod to him with a knowing smile.
He takes it without comment.
“So… you been a nurse long?”
Price asks from beside you, walking slowly through the halls.
“Four years now.”
You reply honestly.
He nods.
Price looks down at the coffee in his hand, still untouched.
His jaw clenches with the tension in his next question. Unsure if he wants to know the answer himself.
“He.. talk about the mission?”
He whispers.
You stop moving in the halls.
“No.. not exactly..”
Gesturing to a quiet place to sit down.
He follows a small distance away from you.
“Johnnys memory isn’t the best.” You state, taking a breath. “He has bits and pieces…he gets confused, scared at times.” You pause trying to find the right words without saying too much.
“He’s lucky to have someone like you around. You care about him, I can tell.”
Prices grip tightens on the coffee cup.
How could soap be lucky to have someone like him? Someone who allowed him to get hurt.
Your hand comes out, gently landing on his.
“Johnny is strong, everyday he makes more and more improvements. Recovery will be long, and he may not remember everything. But I think he’ll be just fine.”
Price looks down at your hand on his, his expression tightens but he doesn’t pull away.
His gaze drops to the floor, mumbling so quietly you almost don’t catch it.
“You.. don’t know what you’re talkin’ about..”
Even softer.
“He shouldn’t even be here…”
You give him a soft smile, seeing grief in many family members. You don’t ask questions, it makes Prices stomach knot with guilt.
“You can’t blame yourself for things that aren’t in your control.”
That snaps something inside him.
His gaze locks onto yours quickly.
Not because he’s angry.
Because he was in control.
He gave Johnny orders.
Orders he wasn’t certain on.
And look where it landed him.
He stares at you for a long while—
When your pager on your side goes off, pulling your attention away for just a second.
Long enough for price to stand up.
Clearing his throat.
“I should get back to Johnny.”
You nod tightly wishing there was more you could say.
“I’ll make another stop by his room in the next hour.” You promise with a nod.
He doesn’t respond.
You watch him walk away.
A strange tightness in your chest as you pick up the abandoned coffee.
Still completely full.
You sigh, throwing it away in a near by trash can.
Walking down the halls your footsteps are light. You pass doctors in the halls with polite nods and smiles.
Stopping only to do your rounds, when your mind returns to Captain price.
Johnny.
You look at the clock on your wrist, and acknowledge the fact that time has moved quicker than you anticipated.
You stop at 203, this time there’s chatter behind the door.
Soft but there.
You knock before you enter.
Peaking your head in with a familar smile.
Your eyes lock onto Johnny first then Price, lastly the man who hasn’t moved an inch since you first saw him.
“Angel..there ye’ is.. knew yu’d come back for meh.”
Johnny raises a bruised arm, his smile never missing, sitting up in bed with Price standing by his side.
You laugh at Johnnys comment, shaking your head, when your eyes meet Prices for another moment.
“Gotta make sure you’ve eaten Johnny.”
You remind unable to not smile at the charming Scot.
“Oh yah.. m’full”
He replies, tapping his belly for emphasis.
Price from the side raises a brow, shooting you a knowing look, nodding to the untouched tray.
You shake your head as your hands fall to your hips.
Tone turning more stern.
“Johnny, I need you to eat something.”
You grab the tray of food you left, moving it to him.
“Do I gotta feed ya?”
You joke, your tone lightening.
“Don’t enable him.”
Low. Gruff.
The man in the medical mask finally speaks.
Your head snaps to the corner.
No Ko You smile unable to help yourself.
Simons eyes move down to your lilac scrubs.
Face twitching in amusement.
His eyes move back to Johnny.
“Nurse ‘s right, you needa’ eat Johnny.”
You look back at Johnny, waiting for an answer.
His smile only sharpens.
“Like it when yu’ get onta’ me Angel. Real cute bird.”
You roll your eyes at his flirts, he moves to begin eating. Slow, his hands weak as they grip the plastic utensils .
Price decides to sit down, his eyes scanning over the room. Bouncing to the door like he’s waiting for another threat to come in. Then back to you.
You check Johnnys monitors as he eats.
Watching his hands and coordination.
Johnny looks from his captain, to you, back to Price with a smirk.
“Don’t get ideas cap’n. V’ already claimed ‘em as mine.”
Prices expressions twists when it moves back to Johnny. Shifting in his seat, ignoring his friends teases.
His eyes linger a second too long.
Johnnys shoulders slump, moving his food around in his tray with less than amusement.
“Stop lookin’ at me like that cap.. m’ not a dead man.”
It feels like a punch right to Prices gut.
Your eyes finally move from the monitor you’ve been watching, suddenly feeling like you’re encroaching.
“Johnny… just eat..”
Price mumbles from the side, his gaze anywhere but Johnny.
“No!”
Johnny slams his fork down onto the table below.
“You keep looking at me like m’ already bloody gone! Like I’m some— some corpse!”
You stiffen. Watching his heart rate spike.
Price stands quickly, the chair scraping under him.
He takes a few steps, his strides long. stopping right before the door.
He can’t look at Johnny, his head down, hand on the door like he’s already decided he’s leaving.
“I’m.. I gotta go.’”
The door closes without a click.
You swallow hard. Your own heart thumping too hard in your chest.
“Johnny,”
You whisper, taking a deep breath to steady yourself.
His eyes snap to you, something pleading in his gaze.
“Take a breath, please.” Your voice is calm, relaxed.
Johnny does as he’s asked.
Wincing slightly.
“S’ not his fault..” he repeats.
You nod.
“I understand.”
Your eyes drift to the man in the chair, who stands.
He’s massive. Sitting where price once was.
“Johnny.”
Blues eyes travel.
“Relax. He’ll will be back.”
He assures lowly.
Johnnys jaw works, his eyes down casted on his half eaten tray.
“Angel..?”
Johnny asks, you’ve been quiet administrating medication through his IV.
Story summary: After moving to Santa Carla to escape a difficult situation, 18-year-old Savannah is inexplicably drawn to a mysterious stranger. But when she discovers his dangerous secret and what it means for her, will she be able to stay away, or is it already too late for that?
Pairings: Dwayne (The Lost Boys) x OC
Previous chapter: Dwayne turns Savannah
Warnings: blood, death (not a main character), attack scene
My fangs pierced through Dwayne’s neck as I straddled him in bed, a hand on his bare shoulder and one tangled in his long dark hair.
As I drank, he hummed in bliss and then let out a moan that went straight to my womb.
‘You taste so good, vampire boyfriend.’
‘Thanks, hu—’ but he corrected himself before he could call me “human girlfriend” like he used to. ‘I’ve gotta say, “half-vampire girlfriend” doesn’t roll as smoothly off the tongue.’
I laughed and drank some more as he ran his hands up and down my back. It tasted like an orgasm.
‘Anyway, wait until you taste human blood, baby.’
‘I have tasted human blood,’ I reminded him, licking his neck so as not to waste a single drop.
‘Not fresh from an artery, you haven’t. Bloodbags can’t even compare.’
He was right: bloodbags were indeed all the human blood I had had up until then because I didn’t feel ready for my first kill.
Dwayne promised me there was no rush. I first needed to get used to being near humans without losing control, anyway.
After he turned me nearly two months ago, we had started out from more remote places, where I could only smell them from a distance, and then gotten closer and closer—first when it was just one or two of them, then a group of people, and then a walk into town. Yesterday, I had finally managed to spend the entire evening at the boardwalk without one of them having to drag me away after noticing my nostrils flare and my muscles go all rigid.
Flying was a different matter, though. While I had come to love it when I was still human and Dwayne would fly me around in his arms, it was terrifying to try and do it on my own. After falling twice, I was too scared to attempt it again, and it made me wonder whether I was even cut out to be a vampire.
‘Are you two decent?’ Marko shouted as the three of them flew back in.
‘You know what’s funny? We have an actual bunny in the cave,’ Paul said, picking up Fangs and throwing him in the air, ‘but it’s them two horny ones behaving like rabbits.’
‘Be gentle with him!’
But he showed me a defiant gaze only to then throw him and catch him again.
‘Paul! He’s not a toy!’
‘Come get him then, Savvy.’
I grunted, jumped off the bed, and started chasing him around the cave, raging.
When I finally got to him, I was surprised he let me snatch Fangs away without any resistance. On the contrary, there was a genuine smile on his face.
I turned around and found the same proud look on Dwayne’s. But what shocked me was how much further below he was.
I was flying!
I looked at Paul, also floating in the air, and down at my legs. But that was a mistake.
‘Oh, fuck.’
I immediately lost balance.
‘Savannah!’ Dwayne shouted.
I held Fangs against my chest to try and protect him from the fall, but Paul grabbed me by the arm before I could hit the floor.
‘Eeeeeaaaasy. See? You can do it, when you’re not overthinking it.’
‘Well, if you ever stress him out like that just to trick me into flying,’ I warned him, caressing my bunny as I went back to the ground, ‘I’ll make you overthink your existence.’
Paul just burst into one of his usual over-the-top laughs and said he’d make me a spliff as an apology.
We all stayed up a few more hours, talking and drinking.
Then, Dwyane and Marko went to sleep first. Once Paul left too, I felt David’s gaze on me from the opposite side of the cave, as we smoked in silence.
‘I think you’re ready, you know?’
He wasn’t talking about flying.
I looked down and shook my head. ‘I’m not.’
‘You are.’
I inhaled some more smoke and sighed.
I had already decided that my first kill would be an aggressor. A bad man. Someone who was about to do something horrible, like my father, when he used to beat me, or Nick, when he tried to assault me. The flashbacks all came back to me at once, my breathing becoming heavier as my hands clenched into fists.
‘What if I can’t do it, David? What if I freeze and… and find myself pinned down underneath some guy? Again?’
He stood up, sat next to me, and wrapped an arm around my tense shoulders. ‘Even if you do, you’ll be able to get out. And we’ll all be ready to intervene if it really comes to that,’ he promised but then shook his head, blowing out some smoke, ‘but I don’t think you’ll need us to. You’re not a helpless human anymore. You’re a vampire. A strong and badass vampire.’
‘I’m only a half vampire.’
He let some air out of his nose. ‘Well, you are the only one who can change that.’
I watched him get ready for sleep and started walking towards the bed I shared with Dwayne.
‘Tomorrow,’ I eventually said, looking over my shoulder. ‘I’ll try tomorrow.’
Before disappearing in the back, David showed me one of his usual smirks, except this time it was full of pride.
***
It actually took us three nights to find a suitable first kill after wandering around Santa Carla from sunset to dawn. But when I heard a female scream from a poorly lit tunnel, I knew it was it.
Dwayne gave me a quick kiss. ‘Use the safeword if you want us to intervene, okay?’
I nodded.
As they hid in the darkness, I ran towards the flickering light of the tunnel and saw them.
The man had just thrown her to the floor and was trying to get on top of her.
I wrapped my arms around his neck from behind and pulled him away.
‘What the fuck—’ he began.
‘Run!’ I told the girl, who was watching me with wide open eyes, as if she couldn’t fully believe it.
‘Thank you,’ she whispered, scrambling away from him and then on her feet.
But then she turned around again. ‘I-I can’t just leave you!’
‘You can,’ I nodded, blocking that man’s fist. ‘I’ll be fine.’
She clearly didn’t believe me but her survival instinct kicked in. ‘I’ll call the police, then,’ she promised, running away.
I’d better be fast then.
But the man was faster.
With one swift move, he threw me against the dirty floor.
My scream died in my throat, right before his hands went straight to my neck. Pressing.
‘Savannah!’ Dwayne’s voice.
I turned my head and saw his silhouette emerge from the darkness, in the distance.
But David placed a hand on his chest, urging him to wait.
I felt the safeword on the tip of my tongue.
I closed my eyes, trying to keep the flashbacks at bay.
I don’t need to breathe, I reminded myself as the man cut my airflow.
I don’t need to breathe.
Not anymore.
Because I’m no longer human.
I lifted my eyelids as I remembered who I was.
I’m a fucking vampire!
I stared into the man’s eyes from below before vamping out.
***
Dwayne and I flew to the moonlit beach, hand in hand, lust and pride mixing in his eyes whenever he threw a glance at me.
When my feet touched the sand, I looked down.
My t-shirt was entirely covered in blood. My jeans stained. My hair felt drenched, too.
‘Is it always gonna be so messy?’
‘No, baby. Just the first few times. Or when you want it to be messy,’ he said with a wink. ‘Let’s get you out of this.’
He removed my t-shirt, leaving me in my bra and jeans, and I instinctively wrapped my arms around my chest before remembering that temperature changes no longer affected me as much.
Dwayne wrung the blood out of the t-shirt and wiped it off my face, too. Then, his proud gaze was replaced by an apologetic one as he looked down.
‘What’s the matter?’
‘I’m so happy and proud of you, Savannah. But I-I was just thinking of how you moved to Santa Carla looking for peace and quiet, originally. And…’ he shrugged. ‘Well, maybe this isn’t what you wanted.’
I lifted his chin and looked him in his dark eyes as I shook my head. ‘It’s what I needed. Being with you, becoming like you… It’s what I didn’t know I needed, Dwayne.’
He released his breath and pulled me into a long hug. ‘You’re what I didn’t know I needed, too.’
We sat on the sand, my back against his chest and his arms wrapped around my waist, the loud waves crashing in front of us and the seasalt breeze caressing my face.
I remembered what he told me last year, talking about our bond.
“Between two vampires, it’s rarer but much stronger than what humans feel.”
I turned my head to look at him—his perfect features, his dark hair waving in the breeze, the earring identical to the one he had given me, the memory of everything he had done for me—and it felt like my chest could barely contain what I felt for him now.
He furrowed his brows as he smiled, intrigued. ‘What?’
I smiled back from below. ‘I love you so much, vampire boyfriend.’
He smiled even more and gave me a long kiss. ‘I love you too, vampire girlfriend. Forever.’
And our eternity had officially begun.
