How it generally feels reading the same five Volturi oneshots on rotate:
We need more. We need more.
volturi on twitter core<3
Hello!! Your characterization is literally one of my favorites on here, so I was wondering if you would ever consider writing a Caius x human reader oneshot where the reader is completely unimpressed by him at first 😭 like everyone expects them to fear him and they just… don’t
Curiosity- Caius Volturi
Y/N stood among the small group of humans who had accidentally seen too much— everyone else was shaking, one woman was quietly crying. The guards moved like shadows…and then there was him.
Caius. The one with the golden hair. He sat on the throne like he owned time itself, fingers drumming once against the armrest as Aro spoke.
She should have been terrified. That was the logical reaction. Instead she felt… mildly inconvenienced.
When Aro gestured elegantly toward the group and said, “Most of you will not leave this castle.” the fear in the air thickened. Caius gaze swept across the humans and landed on her, she didn’t drop her eyes, just raised an eyebrow, like he was a rude stranger taking up too much space on the train.
His expression didn’t shift, but the drumming stopped.
Later—after the others had been led away—he had her brought to a smaller chamber. He stood by a long table, watching her with the same clinical irritation a scientist might give a bug that refused to die on command.
“Most humans wet themselves at the mere sight of me.” he said. His voice was low, precise. “They beg. They scream. They understand what I am.”
She leaned against the wall, arms crossed. Even if heart was beating fast—biology was biology— her face stayed flat. “Cool origin story. Do you rehearse that or does it just come naturally after all the practice?”
Caius went very still. Vampires didn’t need to breathe, but she could have sworn the temperature in the room dropped.
“You are either remarkably stupid or remarkably reckless.” he murmured, stepping closer. “Which is it?”
“Neither. I just don’t see the point in performing fear for someone who is clearly used to getting it for free.” She shrugged. “Everyone expects me to cry or kneel. Sorry to disappoint.”
For a long second he studied her like she was a painting that had started talking back. No one spoke to Caius like this. Not humans. Not most vampires.
He tilted his head. “You will learn.” But he didn’t kill you.
The next few days blurred into a strange routine. She was kept in a comfortable enough room while the Volturi decided what to do with the “interesting” human who didn’t cower. Caius found excuses to summon her all the time.
First it was to watch a guard demonstrate speed. The vampire blurred across the room and stopped inches from her face, fangs bared. She blinked, wiped a stray hair from her eyes, and said, “Impressive party trick. Does he do birthdays?”
Caius jaw tightened.
Another time he brought her to the library while he reviewed ancient texts, he expected her to tremble in the presence of his focused attention. Instead she wandered over to a shelf, pulled out a dusty volume, and muttered, “Latin? Bold choice. Most people would have updated the filing system by now.”
He appeared beside her faster than she could track. “You test my patience.”
“I’m sitting quietly in a castle full of murderers.” she replied evenly. “I think I’m being remarkably polite, all things considered.”
Something shifted in his expression then— a flicker of genuine intrigue beneath the annoyance. Caius was used to fear sharpening humans into predictable, breakable things.
One evening he visited her room unannounced. “You still do not fear me.” he stated. Not a question.
She was sitting by the small desk they have given you, flipping through a book they allowed. You closed it and met his gaze straight on.
“Fear is exhausting. And you are not the first terrifying thing I have met. You are just the prettiest one with the worst attitude. Sorry to dissapoint.”
Caius let out a short breath—almost a laugh— and moved closer, slow enough that she could see every step.
When he stopped, he was close enough that the chill of his skin brushed the air near your arm.
“Careful.” he warned, voice quieter now. “I have ended lives for less insolence.”
“Yeah, I figured.” She didn’t move away. “But you haven’t ended mine. So either I’m useful, or I’m entertaining. Which one?”
He didn’t answer right away. Instead his eyes traced your face like he was memorizing a new weakness in an old enemy. Caius hated unpredictability. But he also couldn’t look away from it.
“Both.” he finally said. “For now.”
⋆·˚ ༘ * DEMETRI VOLTURI HEADCANONS 𐚁̸.ᐟ
𐙚 you’re a cullen
demetri meets you during a volturi “check-in” on the cullens. aka thinly veiled threats.
you catch his attention immediately. not just because of your beauty, but because you’re immune to his tracking.
“strange,” he murmurs with a smirk, circling you like a predator. “i can’t find you. it’s like you don’t exist.”
edward hates this already.
you just roll your eyes, “too bad you still found your way here.”
there’s mutual fascination (and denial).
he starts showing up more when the volturi get involved with anything cullen-related.
“official volturi business” is usually just an excuse to catch a glimpse of you.
you act annoyed, but carlisle has caught you reading old italian history books and lingering around when alice warns you they’re coming.
you trade sharp words every time, but there’s always a teasing undercurrent.
demetri lives for the way you snap back at him. “don’t get cocky just because you wear a fancy cloak.”
meanwhile, demetri in his chambers: “she’s going to be the death of me.”
it’s the start of forbidden feelings.
the moment he realizes he cares about you is terrifying. for someone as loyal to the volturi as demetri, this is dangerous ground.
he starts pulling away. you notice. it hurts more than you expected.
you confront him one night during a volturi visit. “what is it? did your masters remind you i’m disposable?”
he grabs your wrist gently, voice low: “don’t call yourself that.” and his eyes? desperate.
you kiss first. he kisses back like he’s starved.
you have a secret relationship. the volturi cannot know. and your family definitely can’t know.
you sneak away during visits, meet in the forest, or vanish to italy when alice covers for you.
emmett: “is anyone else wondering why y/n suddenly loves tuscany?”
alice knows. she’s known. she’s just waiting for you to say it.
“you changed your perfume. that means you’re seeing someone. and judging by the way you stare out the window like a war wife waiting for her soldier to return…”
you trust alice. you know she’d always have your back.
demetri sends you handwritten letters on parchment sealed with his volturi crest.
he never writes anything incriminating, but the way he phrases things drips with longing.
“you haunt me in every corner of this ancient castle. i think of your laugh in the silence of the throne room.”
he hides your photo behind a book in his room. he calls it his “weakness” and stares at it more than he’ll ever admit.
demetri is soft with you in a way no one’s ever seen.
“i’ve done terrible things,” he tells you once, forehead pressed to yours. “but i’d burn this world down before i let them touch you.”
demetri is… very territorial.
he doesn’t like it when human boys flirt with you at school. or when jacob looks at you for too long.
“does that mutt always stare like that? maybe i should give him something to be afraid of.”
you: “demetri. chill.”
demetri: “oh, i’m perfectly calm.” (he is not)
you once danced with a random vampire at a coven gathering just to make demetri jealous.
it worked. he dragged you outside and kissed you against a stone wall.
“don’t ever do that again.”
“why? did it bother you?” you grin, breathless.
“i’m a tracker, not a saint.”
there are times demetri almost bites you. not to hurt you, but out of pure instinct when you kiss him.
it terrifies him how much he wants you. just you.
“don’t tempt me like that, cara mia. i’m trying to be good.”
you tease him relentlessly. “who says i want you to be good?”
you’ve stayed in demetri’s room in volterra once or twice, hidden behind a sealed chamber door only he can unlock.
it’s quiet there. dim, ancient. you bring books. he watches you read.
he touches your face like he still can’t believe you’re real.
“sometimes i wonder if you’re just a dream i’ve built to survive this place.”
once, you meet halfway between forks and volterra in the middle of nowhere to avoid suspicion.
you’re both tense. he’s late, and for a minute you think the volturi found out.
when he appears from the trees, it’s wordless. he just grabs you, holds your face like you’ll disappear, and kisses you like he’s been drowning.
“they’re watching more closely now,” he warns.
“then let them.” you kiss him again, harder this time.
when the truth comes out, the cullens are shocked.
bella: “you’re dating a volturi tracker?”
rosalie: “please tell me you’re joking.”
carlisle is… quietly disappointed at first, until he sees how protective and gentle demetri is with you.
edward is furious. until he sees that demetri can’t read your future, track you, or control you. and he realizes: this wasn’t manipulation.
demetri truly fell for you.
the family, slowly (and with some threats), begin to tolerate him.
emmett: “if you break her heart, i break your legs. and i know they grow back, but i’ll keep doing it.”
he’s always touching you now. hand at your back. fingers laced with yours. lips pressed to your temple when he thinks no one’s watching.
it’s not just affection. it’s a quiet kind of desperation.
“don’t leave my sight,” he murmurs constantly.
when you go hunting, he waits by the window until you return.
once, you tease, “miss me already?”
he doesn’t laugh. “always.”
demetri never had softness in his afterlife. he was turned, trained, and used by the volturi.
affection was weakness. gentleness was dangerous.
then you came into his life like a sunrise he wasn’t ready for.
he resists it at first, but the way you touch his face like he won’t shatter. like he’s real, undoes him.
he doesn’t do grand gestures. he’s not showy. but he remembers every little detail about you.
he brings you obscure books he knows you’ll like. ones written in languages barely spoken anymore.
he steals them from the volturi library like a lovesick thief.
he doesn’t say “i love you” often, but when he does, it’s like a vow:
“i love you. and i would destroy anything that dared to touch you.”
sometimes, when he’s alone, he imagines a future where you and he live far away from all of this.
no volturi, no cullen coven politics. just the two of you somewhere quiet. free.
but he doesn’t believe he deserves peace. he’s done too much. hurt too many.
when he was human, he dreamed of being free.
when he was volturi, he dreamed of being powerful.
now, the only dream that visits him is you. sunlight through your hair, your laugh echoing off forest trees.
demetri is used to tracking, following, studying people from a distance.
but with you? it’s not calculation. it’s reverence.
he watches the way you tuck your hair behind your ear when you’re reading, or how you hum softly when you’re thinking.
he doesn’t realize how tender he looks until alice catches him and says softly, “you look like you’ve already made your choice.”
he’ll always choose you.

Our little Fool - platonic! Volturi kings x female!human!reader
Part 1 here Part 2 here You are now in part 3
A few weeks after the nomad incident, the entire castle had changed.
Not dramatically.
Not politically.
But emotionally.
Because almost losing you had shaken everyone.
Especially the people who loved you.
Which, much to your endless amusement, seemed to include nearly the entire Volturi.
Felix had become unbearable.
Demetri hovered.
Jane glared at staircases.
Alec followed you around with tea.
And the kings…
Well.
The kings had become ridiculous.
⸻
“Caius, I can carry my own book.”
“No.”
“Why?”
“Because.”
“That’s not an answer.”
“It is now.”
⸻
“My dear girl!” Aro exclaimed one afternoon. “Have you eaten?”
“And?”
“Aro!”
“Humans are delicate!”
Nearby, Marcus quietly slid a blanket over your shoulders because “you looked cold.”
You weren’t.
But you accepted it anyway.
Because Marcus’s little acts of affection were rare treasures.
⸻
And then there were the queens.
The beautiful, graceful queens of the Volturi.
Sulpicia.
Athenodora.
And Didyme.
While they had always adored you, something about nearly losing you had awakened the mothers inside them.
Not that they’d admit it.
But everyone knew.
Especially the kings.
⸻
You had woken up from a nap one afternoon to find yourself tucked beneath three blankets.
Three.
And a note.
“You looked tired. — Sulpicia”
Below it:
“And thin. Eat something. — Athenodora”
And, in elegant handwriting:
“Come braid flowers with me when you wake up. — Didyme ❤️”
You had laughed so hard you nearly fell out of bed.
⸻
The queens spoiled you terribly.
Sulpicia fussed over your injuries.
“Sit still.”
“I’m fine.”
“You are bruised.”
“Sulpicia—”
“No arguments.”
⸻
Athenodora brushed your hair every evening.
Something she had done since you were little.
Not because you needed help.
Simply because she liked it.
And because she had once confided quietly:
“I always wished for children.”
You had nearly cried.
⸻
Didyme—
Sweet, radiant Didyme—
Loved cuddling.
She loved flowers.
Music.
Dancing.
And you.
Endlessly.
“My sunshine,” she called you.
To the eternal embarrassment of every guard present.
⸻
And somehow…
Without really noticing…
You started calling them “Mama.”
Not intentionally.
It simply happened.
⸻
“Mama Sulpicia?”
The queen froze.
Everyone froze.
Even Aro.
You blinked.
“…Sulpicia?”
She stared.
Then immediately pulled you into the tightest hug imaginable.
“My darling.”
Her voice trembled.
“My child.”
⸻
Athenodora had cried.
Actually cried.
And Didyme nearly tackled you.
“My daughter!”
Caius looked horrified.
“Athenodora, you’re crying.”
“Shut up.”
“You are.”
“Caius.”
“You are leaking.”
“Caius.”
⸻
And after that…
It simply became natural.
Mama Sulpicia.
Mama Athenodora.
Mama Didyme.
⸻
Which was how, on one particularly peaceful evening, the entire royal family somehow ended up having what Aro called—
“Family bonding!”
Caius called it nonsense.
Marcus called it pleasant.
And Felix called it “mandatory fun.”
⸻
The gardens had been decorated with lanterns.
Blankets spread everywhere.
Flowers.
Books.
Tea.
Paints.
And enough snacks to feed an army.
Jane and Alec sat together.
Felix and Demetri argued over board games.
Marcus quietly read beside you.
And Aro had somehow convinced everyone to participate in painting.
Again.
⸻
“Absolutely not,” Caius declared.
Twenty minutes later—
“Hand me the blue paint.”
You grinned.
“Knew you’d cave.”
“I did not cave.”
“Mhm.”
“I merely wished to demonstrate superior technique.”
Nearby, Marcus was painting birds.
Very well, actually.
Aro painted what looked suspiciously like everyone holding hands.
And Felix—
Felix had somehow painted a giant dog wearing sunglasses.
Nobody knew why.
Not even Felix.
⸻
Meanwhile, you sat with your head resting in Athenodora’s lap while she played with your hair.
Didyme sat beside you weaving flower crowns.
And Sulpicia made sure you drank enough water.
“You need more.”
“Mama—”
“More.”
“Mama Sulpicia.”
“No.”
Everyone laughed.
⸻
“You spoil her,” Caius muttered.
Sulpicia looked offended.
“Of course I do.”
“She is twenty.”
“And?”
“She can drink water without supervision.”
“Can she?”
“…”
Caius looked at you.
You smiled innocently.
“Maybe.”
Caius sighed.
“Hopeless.”
But he handed you your glass.
⸻
Didyme suddenly gasped.
“Oh!”
Everyone looked over.
She smiled brightly.
“Family portrait!”
A collective groan echoed through the garden.
“No,” Caius said immediately.
“Absolutely.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
“Yes.”
“No.”
Athenodora smiled sweetly.
“Caius.”
He wilted.
Everyone noticed.
Felix whispered to Demetri:
“He fears his wife.”
“Smart man.”
⸻
Eventually everyone assembled.
The queens in the center.
You sitting happily between them.
Marcus nearby.
Aro beaming.
Caius pretending he wasn’t enjoying himself.
Jane and Alec together.
Felix and Demetri making faces.
The entire royal family.
And just before the picture—
You looked up.
“Love you, Mama.”
Three queens froze.
And then—
“Love you too, sweetheart.”
Sulpicia kissed your forehead.
Athenodora squeezed your hand.
Didyme hugged you tightly.
⸻
Aro immediately burst into tears.
“Oh, this is beautiful!”
Jane groaned.
“Not again.”
Marcus smiled softly.
Even Caius looked suspiciously emotional.
“Ridiculous.”
But his voice lacked any bite.
Because as he looked around—
At his wife smiling.
At Marcus relaxed.
At Aro crying.
At the guards laughing.
At you, healthy and happy and alive—
Something ancient and weary inside him settled.
Peacefully.
⸻
Much later that evening, as everyone relaxed beneath the stars, you curled up against Marcus’s side.
Aro rested nearby.
And Caius sat beside Athenodora.
Didyme hummed softly while Sulpicia knitted.
Felix and Demetri were asleep.
Jane dozed against Alec.
Everything was quiet.
Safe.
Home.
And as you drifted toward sleep, you missed the conversation happening above your head.
Aro smiled.
“Our daughter is happy.”
Marcus nodded.
“She is.”
Caius glanced down at your sleeping form.
And though he would deny it forever—
His expression softened.
“Yes.”
Athenodora smiled knowingly.
“Your daughter.”
Caius opened his mouth.
Ready to protest.
Ready to deny.
Ready to complain.
Then he looked at you.
His little human.
His ridiculous child.
And he sighed.
“…Yes.”
Aro nearly cried again.
Marcus smiled.
And the queens positively glowed.
Because after thousands of years—
Their family had grown by one.
And none of them—
Not kings.
Not queens.
Not guards.
Not anyone—
Would ever let their daughter doubt how loved she truly was.

𝜗𝜚 ׅ ۫
“My love?”
“In here!” You called out, sinking more into the warmth of the bubbles surrounding you.
Demetri entered the bathroom, folding his arms and leaning against the doorframe as he admired the view before him.
“Well well…” He smirked, giving your naked form another once over, “What a beautiful sight to be welcomed with.”
Throwing a cheeky smile at him, you tilted your head to the side and lifted a hand to beckon him over. Water dripped from your fingertips onto the marble tile below however neither of you had it in you to care, completely in awe of each other - as mates tended to be.
With a push off the doorframe the blonde made his way over to you, hands pushing up the sleeves of his button up and allowing you a view of his perfectly sculpted forearms. Once he was within reach, your fingertips glided across his exposed skin, sliding across a particular vein which ran all the way up to edge of his shirt before it became hidden once again.
Demetri knelt before the bathtub, taking your hand in one of his and pressing soft kisses across the span of it, following up your arm. With a giggle, you threw your head back.
“Hi, my darling.”
A gleaming smile was planted on your face, and once he had made his way to your shoulder both hands reached to cup your cheeks in his hold before pressing a gentle kiss to your lips.
“I missed you…” He pouted when he pulled away an inch, pressing his forehead against yours with his hands still holding you gently.
“It’s only been a few hours!”
With a soft laugh, you matched his pout with a playful one of your own.
“A few seconds without you feels like an eternity, il mio cuore. I do not feel well when you are not by my side.”
You own hands moved to stroke his jaw, pressing a soft kiss to the tip of his nose.
“Well I’m here now,” The vampire let out a soft hum in agreement before you continued, “and I missed you too”
Demetri felt his face light up, his gaze softening. He closed his eyes for a moment, basking in the sweetness of the moment between you before he brushed a hair away from your face.
“Let me lay out your robe for you, petal. Then I will come join you - if you would allow me?”
“I would love that” You smiled and watched him pull away, muttering about how he’ll only be a moment and sauntering out into the bedchamber.
With a breathy giggle, a hand covered your mouth in bashfulness whilst your body sunk into the bath, completely in awe at just how perfect your man was - and he was all yours.
