My Michael Review
After years of getting back into my account, I figured a review of the long anticipated Michael was fitting for the Queen’s comeback.
It’s been so long since I’ve been on this page, I started a family, had two boys and I am deep into my career. Though I no longer carry the MJ badge, my heart has always been a super fan. So bad, my oldest baby is ALSO a Michael Jackson super fan with no help from me btw.
Me and my big boy have been waiting for this movie since the announcement dropped. Again, he loves everything Michael Jackson. I just took him to Gary to visit his childhood home. He practices the drums to MJ as well.
Enough about us.
The movie, in my opinion, was a SOLID 8/10. I say this because I feel like I didn’t get enough (but with a Michael Jackson movie, you’ll never get the full scoop, it’s MICHAEL JACKSON!)
The movie briefly touched his childhood and his beginnings with The Jackson 5. Since this was a movie based on Michael, they didn’t really focus on his siblings and the love they had for each other. With Janet nor Rebbie being represented, that creative decision made sense.
It end up being more of a coming to age movie, showing where and how MJ BECAME THAT NIGGA. It gave us some behind the scenes as to how the Victory tour went down as well and how Joe tried to control the narrative. He couldn’t control the star tho. There was a lot of singing and performances which I appreciated and we found ourselves in the theatre singing and dancing with each other. My son told me loved me at least 10x throughout the 2hour 7min runtime.
They literally TAPPED on the beginning of his superstardom. The best part about it, is that they ONLY focused on the good.

Allegations? What’s that?
It stopped at the final show of the Victory tour, so don’t expect his full life story. Then there was a violent jump to the Bad tour with no scenes in between. Personally, I didn’t care for it but once I sat down and thought about it, that was a respectable move on their end. We seen Flex!
Overall, I truly believe that MJ would’ve appreciated this movie for showing him for him and showing that he had a vision, and brought it to life. They say we won’t get anyone like him again, which I kinda believe, but if the right kid sees it…they can be our next MJ.
For anyone not a super fan, it can easily be a 10/10.
