This actually goes well with something i theorized about over a year ago with my friends - the 3 save slots are for 3 intended ways to play the game, one of them being weird route, and the other being normal route and/or... aborted weird route, maybe? the shadow crystal and egg questlines?

Ok, this theory might be halfcooked, but basically i think that that for some reason, we will have to play the game from start to finish at least 3 times, all leading to a true and final ending of sorts

Does anyone remember that... uhhh... there was an off-screen Susselle sex scene in the weird route? Like thats a thing that just (probably) happened, in the middle of us forcing Kris and Noelle to be straight together:

Susie and Noelle spend some time alone, togheter in noelle's cyberworld room

Susie doesnt come out of the room for a while cuz Ralsei managed to fall asleep

Keep in mind - Noelle was in very vulnurable position after what we did to her and what she did to Berdly, and her crush just happened to be there...

Afterwards, Susie and Noelle, but especially Noelle, act as if something much more... romantic? explicit? happened off-screen in that room that wasnt just the ferris wheel. Susie wishes Noelle remembered what happened was real, and Noelle still retains her attraction and crush on Susie, even tho were forcing her to be Kris LI in this route

But then i have to keep in mind that Weird Route's subtext centers around two queer teenagers being forced by us, the higher being playing this game, to be a toxic straight couple, like were putting toys faces together to make them kiss... and then i suddenly remember that SOMETHING happened between Susselle during chapter 2 WR and im like "huh... ok... how does it fit into the thematic picture of this game?"

Deltarune is, to me, the biggest example to me of how "GET WOKE GO BROKE" or "this is diveristy done right" are the biggest copes of all time when it comes to media discourse

The MC is Non-Binary, the Deuteragonist is a Butch Lesbian, the Tritagonist is a femboy who some speculate with solid evidence to be a trans girl, the Main Antagonist is probably an allegedely dead girl who now goes by it/they pronouns, the main antagonist's sister is a love interest to the aformentioned butch who also serves as commentary on forcing straight romance and expactions on queer teenagers in the game's Evi Fucked Up Alternative Route... and the reason why im writing this post, is cuz i watched a video essay about an important side-villain being potentially transmasc, with extremely convincing evidence... oh yeah, did i mention multiple trans characters in it's sister game Undertale? who still apear in Deltarune??

and the best part is: THATS NOT EVEN WHAT PEOPLE PRAISE THIS GAME FOR!!!!!! Seriously, when people praise Deltarune and Undertale, they will 100% mention and apriciate the queer aspect, but before that, theyll mention how the story made them cry, or how theyre super invested in the lore, or how the soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece, or their favorite character, or thier favortie secret boss they spend 30 hours trying to overcome...

the sheer existence of Deltarune as this cultural phenomenon/indie darling that is this gay and woke, where chuds feel the need to larp as it's fans and at the very least deny the gender of the non-binary main character, just to claim some sort of "victory"...

I want more stories like Deltarune. Stories that can be grand and epic and succesful and popular and also very fucking gay, without it becoming the defining element of it in the public perception

Noelle is a Lesbian and Kris is Non-Binary. Despite that, lots of people still see Kris as a boy, and they also see Kris/Noelle as a "straight" ship.

The Weird Route has undeniable romantic and abusive implications - "Noelle Will Ride with me", forcing Noelle to get a ring for herself after saying "were something else", "YOUVE BEEN MAKING [hyperlink blocked]" with hyperlink blocked possibly meaning love, putting the thorn ring on Noelle's finger as shes panicking and pleading with "Kris" to stop...

Snowgrave doesnt feel like just corrupting an innocent girl into doing a Genocide Run

To me, we are also imposing a heteronormative relationship on two queer teenagers - with Kris playing a dominant "masculine" role that Commands, and with Noelle playing the role of the girl

And with the possibilty of Noelle being the one who was supposed to go into the closet that day with Kris, and NOT Susie, meaning that Noelle is The Girl...

With all the Meta storytelling in Toby Fox's writing and his stories thus far being about fiction and people relationship with fiction, and with Deltarune seemingly focusing a lot on the agency of fictional characters... I can't wait where all of these threads will end up

Momo and Aira's bond is so special to me

in prep for szn 2, i rearead evil eye arc, and ngl - i cant stop thinking about these panels from the training section with turbo granny

Okarun and Jiji arent the only ones who love and want to protect Momo - even tho i dont conisder momoaira to be romantic, and perosnally ship my fave pink bishojo girl with Kouki...
