The casting has always been on point, so call me delusional, I don't care lol
Brenner and Henry. Hmmm
Lonnie and Jonathan.
And Hopper and... Will...
Maybe a coincidence, maybe not
Staring at Betty in the teaser and Karen’s poster
The windows????
That speech Karen gave Nancy in s3????
Betty gives me Karen+Nancy vibes
i’m staring at that new TFS promo pic like… young wayne munson is that you??
A beautiful Byler-Polivia parallel, Will's truesight and other parallels with Fringe
I said I could make 50 posts after my rewatch of S4. I'm gonna start with the parallels with one of my favorite shows. Let's go! @lilitblaukatz
Olivia Dunham is Subject 13, and she has the ability to see and travel to the parallel world. In ST there are many mentions of number 13, and imo that's a hint that there are different timelines (not actual parallel worlds) and we've been seen them since the very first episode. In fact, Will mentions the number 13 in the first scene of the show.
Will-Olivia parallels
It was a seven. I read many theories about this moment and Mike's strange reaction. That maybe Will is in a Vecna vision, and that's why the lights flicker and "Mike" doesn't know what he is talking about.
Well, I think Vecna is spying Will; those eyes on the skis behing Mike! I think this detail proves that Will's abduction wasn't a coincidence.
But if this Mike is actually Vecna, shouldn't he know about the game and the Demogorgon? He can read minds, wouldn't he at least try to smile?
Then I remembered why this scene seemed familiar. It reminds me of a scene of Fringe, ep 3x15, when Olivia, who can't control her powers yet, travels to the parallel world and for a moment sees the other Dr Bishop, who is quite surprised by what she says.
(in 3x15 Olivia also meets Peter for the first time)
So, I don't know, maybe Will does have a Vecna vision later, at home. But when he talks to Mike, I think he's seeing a Mike from another timeline/or he ended up in another timeline (because the gate just opened?) I don't know. Maybe a timeline where Karen interrupted the campaign earlier, or Will rolled the dice and won. That would explain Mike's confusion, and the flickering lights.
And now I'm thinking about other parallels
The zeppelin and the Rainbowship
The first time Olivia sees the parallel world, she draws this
What if Will didn't just imagine the Rainbowship, but drew what he SAW, like he drew the vines?
Nina kinda looks like a little spaceship, so, maybe... I don't believe what Owens said. I think they were already using the silos before El lost her powers.
(EDIT: Spoilers of The First Shadow- Now we know that in 1943, the ship of Brenner's father wound up in Dimension X, during the Philadelphia Experiment, which was connected to the Rainbow Project. So, maybe Will's Rainbowship is a reference to that and a hint at different timelines)
But back to Olivia and Will. Here she's drawing while the adults are talking about her, and Will is drawing while Joyce and Hopper are talking with Owens, who gives major Walter Bishop vibes, and even has a son named Peter.
Byler and Polivia, the parallel of their first meeting
The Rainbowship is mentioned in the shed scene, the same scene in which Mike reminds Will of the first time they met.
In 3x15 Olivia draws the zeppeling, and in the same episode Peter finds her sketchbook and sees her drawing of the field of white tulips. Her drawings, that are connected to her powers and visions, help him to find her. And this is a beautiful parallel with Will and Mike, because Peter's life changes when she meets Olivia. They talk about her abusive father (in the shed scene Jon mentions Lonnie) and it's after they talk in that field that Peter decides to accept his new family and his new life.
Asking Will to be his friend is the best thing Mike has ever done, and their lives changed too, when they met.

I knew that George Smith was Henry/Edward Creel before they announced the cast, but even now I keep finding new hints. Everything means something on this show.
I had noticed this mention of George in S1: water that turns into cement and breaks every bone in your body. It reminded me of Henry's powers. But I didn't know that the name George Burns, the guy Callahan mentions, could be a reference to an american actor who died at 100.
100 -> 001
Then Owens quotes George Sarton, who died on March 22nd.
It would be crazy if Will's birthday is on March 22nd, and they decided to reveal it when he is possessed, because Matthew Modine was born on March 22nd, 1959 (!), and they wanted to give us a hint that Vecna/One/Mind Flayer is actually connected to Richard Brenner... So when Joyce is saying It's your birthday to Will, she's also kinda talking about Modine, who plays Brenner.
Yeah, that would be the craziest hint in the whole show lmao.
There's also George Mcfly, of course, Marty's father. A hint at time trickery. And now I have a theory about the meaning of the lab kid 13 (it's connected to Byler, here) so maybe the other mention of George, in S3, Georgie's 13th birthday, is also a hint at different timelines.
Georgie also makes me think about Georgie Denbrough-IT, the first victim, in 1957, of Pennywise (IT), an ancient interdimensional eldtritch entity that can turn into a giant spider... Georgie is taken by an evil clown at the beginning of the story. Henry ends up in Dimension X, then is taken by Brenner. Will, who’s afraid of clowns, is taken by a scary creature at the beginning of the show.
GEORGE IS TOTALLY LONNIE- George Smith vs George McFly
So, George McFly is Marty McFly’s father.
And we all know that Will was dressed like Marty McFly in S1.
And who is Will’s father? Lonnie. And who does “George Smith” from the TFS audition look almost IDENTICAL to? GEORGE MCFLY!!
GEORGE IS TOTALLY YOUNG LONNIE!!
Staring at the fact that betty olsen seemed weirded out by father olsen/father newby (since bill olsen is bob newby) vs all of bob’s parallels to will….. bob do you need resources???? is everything okay at home?? bob talking about how will reminds him a lot of himself as a kid is sure. something. considering everything that happened to will & all of his csa imagery vs bob being the son of father olsen & betty being creeped out by father olsen….
you ever just. think sometimes.
there’s smthn here about brenner being paralleled to pennywise…
Bob and Mr Baldo- Was Bob Abused As A Child? Was There Ever Really A Mr Baldo?
So, I talked in this post about some of the stuff from the TFS auditions & Bob comparing himself to Will & Betty Olsen/Newby being creeped out by Father Newby & how that may have implications for Bob having been sexually abused. And now, I’m looking at the whole Mr Baldo scene in a new light.
So, I also talked here about the parallel between Mr Baldo’s white glove and Brenner’s white glove, but let’s go through the rest of the scene.

WALTER HENDERSON HEADCANONS GO!!!!
Lonnie's last appearance in The First Shadow [source]:
"It wasn't me. I didn't do it!"
Lonnie's first mention in the series (1x01)
Which reminded me...
Kate Trefry talking about The First Shadow [source]:
We always try to go back to the original pilot and say, what more is there to learn about this moment?
Based on the leaks out there, there seems to be very few Lonnie scenes in the play, and yet it also sounds like he's gotta be the most consistently portrayed when compared to his character on the show, more than anyone else, even down to this very line, this concept of him having nothing to do with it. This tells me that with what little they were willing to give, there is a major significance to it and what it means for his character and for his role in the story overall.
So what is it? What does Lonnie have nothing to do with?
In s1, it's about Will and his disappearance. But clearly it's more than that because they made a point to have Joyce say it twice, to trust her on this.
If Lonnie has nothing to do with this, and that's a theme they want to carry out in this play in a way that quite literally juxtaposes his first mention on the show, taking us back to the very beginning, what does that mean?
Idk. Maybe it just means he has nothing to do with this. Maybe it means he has nothing to do with Will more than we realize...
It's giving
stranger things the first shadow and jekyll and hyde and carl jung’s concept of the shadow and edward creel is vecna and i can prove it
So! This caught my eye today:
I know there’s a lot of talk regarding how the MF is also called the shadow monster, and I’m sure that plays into it somehow, but I also wanted to talk about Carl Jung’s theory of the shadow. Jung’s theory is basically as follows:
There are many important 12 mentions in The First Shadow
Henry vanished for 12 hours in Nevada (in 1954)
In S4 there's a reference to that, and it's not just about Henry, it's also connected to Will. In fact, the 12 hours mention is between the close up of the light bulb in El's closet, similar to the one in the Byers' shed, Will and the boys getting off the road, and Owens literally joking about working out of a shed.
Apparently, the key to decoding Henry's secret journal is Captain Midnight's Clock!
In S3 Dustin gives Will the Forever Clock and there's the name Williams on the grandfather clock.
This looks a lot like the new set leak
(posted by byrhop on Twitter, and willelworld)
And this is in Henry's house
So much to think about!
EXCUSE ME? They just annouced the cast of Stranger Things: The First Shadow!
Oscar Lloyd is James Hopper Jr. Isabella Pappas is Joyce Maldonado, Chris Buckley is Bob Newby
Louis McCartney is Henry Creel and Patrick Vaill is Dr Brenner (I have so many thoughts about this)
Ella Karuna Williams is Patty Newby. So she's really Bob's sister! Yes. Look at them. I'm sure she and Henry will have a very interesting dynamic. Can't wait to see them.
And here Henry's parents: Michael Jibson is Victor Creel, and Lauren Ward is Virginia. I wonder if we're also going to see Alice... and Lonnie, and Scott Clarke
I am ready!
EDIT: Yes, we're gonna see Karen, Lonnie, well, a lot of people, lol. Thank you Jo for the screenshot
