The constant notion of Deaf people thinking they should preserve their sign language to ASL... and if any D/deaf/HOH folks that don't use ASL are not one of them.

The constant notion of Hearing people thinking they should preserve their speaking language to English and if any Hearing folks that don't speak in English are not one of them.

But the majority in this world, we all irrevocably must accept that... this is the Hearing World and English is the one world language. It applied to the entire world. I know a hearing friend of mine lives in China, had to learn English and speak in English as their second language.

Be it as speaking or sign language, we as D/deaf/HOH folks all have to learn English as well as sign language in English in education system. In case if we need to survive in this world. It does not mean it will strip our cultures away if we learn in English. We can keep our cultures at home as long as it is our choices.

My understanding... of what languages means in sign language and speaking:

Speaking Person--

Speaking does not imply... they're speaking in English. I'm talking about "Hearing World." People that use speak in a clear, intelligent conversation in a complete/some sentence. Clear pronunciation. Their level of Hearing loss would be less than 40 decibels. 

Sign Language D/deaf Person-- 

Hand Signing does not imply they're speaking in ASL. I'm talking about "Deaf World." People that use sign languages. They're speaking through hands in a clear, intelligent conversation in complete/some sentence. Clear hand sign. Their level of Hearing loss would be greater than 40 decibels.

Author's note: 

I know this is very sensitive topic. Most people would rather not discuss about it, but I don't mind. I talk about it all the time with my friends and families. It's the only one way or other I have to be honest with myself.

Again, remember this is my experiences being in two different worlds. I could see both of their problems and I am more interested in solutions and working together rather than to be segregated. I thought that I could help to put our difference aside since I have experiences from both worlds. And I want to share it with rest of you.

I don't want us all to be stuck in the mud for rest of their lives clinging to those old notions. Not only we're working to improve better lives for Deaf world, I believe doing that we're also helping Hearing and Deaf world to work together.

Website: "Sign Language is bad for Deaf people because they will rely on it too much and it will make them unable to communicate with Hearing people.” Study after study has shown that keeping Sign Language away from Deaf people does nothing except keep all language away from Deaf people, and it can have numerous negative effects on their ability to learn. Even Deaf adults who have never learned to speak still live in a world that is mostly Hearing, and have developed incredible skills for making themselves understood. On another note, Doctors are continually saying how good Sign Language is for Hearing babies, why would this not be true for Deaf babies as well?

My deaf experiences from hearing people. 

1) Not my problem, read my lip! (I know this person for three years.)

2) Oh, never mind! (After asked this person to repeat several of times. Write what you're saying on a paper with pencil? Or use the dragon apps -speech to text- in your cell phone so I could read on there while what you're saying? Or you could type something on your cell phone so I could read what you're saying? There are many innovative way to communicate, believe me...! I would too. I do that all the time.)

Where: Outdoor, vigorously mixed terrain/road/sidewalk

6th - 5 miles (noon)

7th - 5 miles (noon)

8th - 5 hours of landscape work

9th - 5 hours of landscape work

10th -  3.7 miles for 47 minutes, mild workout. (noon)

11th - 4.3 miles (night)

14th - 6.7 miles (noon)  

20th - 8.0 miles (evening)

21st - 5.0 miles (noon)

22nd - 7.7 miles (night)

My sign language interp's speed were not as fast as you think. It's more like 5-seconds delay for the whole thing. While everybody start to burst out laughing...
