Girls in Danger:

Elain: Azriel didn't hesitate to go to Hybern's Camp despite being warned and knowing the risks.

Gwyn: No panicked reaction and went to save Eris, the male he hates, instead.

When being questioned:

Elain: Azriel was surprised by her question but answered fully and in detail.

Gwyn: When Azriel realised she was going to ask more, he cut her off because he didn't feel like explaining or demonstrating.

Secret Keeping:

Elain: Feyre believes that she's got Azriel beaten for secret-keeping.

Gwyn: She was asked to not tell anyone about the Dread Trove but told Merrill anyway.

The ability to read eachother without words:

Elain: It's said that Azriel doesn't need his shadows to know how she feels. Elain knows why he's been avoiding dinners, just as Azriel is aware that she knows.

"He'd beg on hot coals for one lick of her."

Azriel about Elain:

thinking about when elriel finally get together, the six of them share a meal together again. and they think about that first time, and how much has changed since then.

I find it interesting that, despite knowing Azriel for 500+ years, his brothers have difficulty reading him (like many others). And it’s no wonder: he is often described as unreadable. He masks his expressions and hides behind his shadows when he doesn’t want to be seen, as Rhys observes below.

Cassian also struggles to read him and relies on his shadows to indicate his mood. He knows better than to force him to open up and remains in the dark until Azriel is willing to share.

Like Rhys, he asks him probing questions and receives dismissive responses. He is also perplexed about Azriel’s change in behavior and can’t seem to come up with an explanation for it. In other words, he struggles to read him.

The Archeron sisters, however, seem more tuned into his behavior than his found brothers, particularly Elain. They seem to share a quiet understanding that Azriel mentions in his POV.

Unlike Azriel’s brothers, Elain doesn’t seem to need words or direction from his shadows to understand what he means. Is this because he does not hide from her? Their quiet understanding is purposefully contrasted in the next two sequences: (1) when he dons his unreadable mask during a tense conversation with Rhysand, and (2) when he has to remind himself to behave in a socially appropriate manner during a lighthearted exchange with Gwyn.

In return, Azriel does not need his shadows to read Elain either.

And while many have interpreted this last interaction to mean Elain does not truly know his wintry darkness, what his hands have done over the course of centuries, I think it is more likely that no one has ever looked at Azriel like this. He has been feared and loathed and mistrusted since his childhood, by the very people who were meant to care for and love him. So, what does he do when Elain—a breathtaking female with a Cauldron-blessed mate—looks at him with trust, hope, and openness? It scares the shit out of him. He doubts the validity of it because he feels so unworthy of love, which was ingrained in him as a child and then exacerbated by his role as Spymaster. How could she possibly know what his scarred and dirtied hands have done? It does not keep him from touching and smelling and nearly kissing her. But the fear is still there.

I should ship them because Gwyn can be a good babysitter to Nyx? That makes no sense to me but let me explain why I don't ship Gwynriel. Also I don't hate Gwynriel. And what are the similarities between Feysand and Gwynriel?

I know it's simple, but I've been believing in the three sisters-three brothers theory since the meal that the six of them had together at ACOMAF.

If Elain ends up with Lucien, sisters will have to separate again and I don't think that would be likely. She even brought Feyre and Nesta together, I don't think she will separate the sisters again.

Sarah usually uses Feyre's pov to hint at other characters' futures. Like Feyre's questioning about why Elriel are not mates. And there are many others like that I don't remember now. You probably know theories better than me, I don't read all of them.

And tbh what are we going to read about Gywnriel? More sexual healing, training and working in library. Then Sarah doesn't need to write another book, we can always re-read ACOSF.

I respect everyone's opinions about this. On both sides there are many people who writes very detailed and well-thought theories. So, there're obviously solid evidences about both ships. And at first I didn't really care about who Az might get end up with I was totally okay with both Gwynriel and Elriel. But what I HATE and makes me pick the other side is this whole ''Gwynsand headcanons'' thing. SOME, not everyone, Gwynriel stans act like Gwyn's going to be center of Rhys's world. I read things like:

''When Nyx cries, Gwyn is the first person Rhys will go to.''

''Rhys's favorite person to spend time with is Gwyn.''

''Gwyn is the only person he can comfortably tell about his experiences under the mountain.''

''When Rhys needs advice on something, he goes to Gwyn first.''

Is there something I missed? Feyre is dead and Rhys is looking for a mother for Nyx? Or are they just simply shipping Gwyn with Rhys?

if the next book will be Az's and its plot will be about Koschei. I'm just connecting the two dots.

I still see some people comment things like "If Elain gets a book, I'm not reading it👹"

Sorry to tell you guys, but she IS getting a book and so she should!

I've seen so many of their theories that replace Elain as Gwyn and they're just ridiculous at this point. For example:

Gwyn is going to be best friends with Nuala & Cerridwen.

Gwyn is going to be Nyx's "favourite aunt".

Gwyn is going to do spy work with Azriel.
