“I am plagued by glimpses of the things that are to come. I lay impaled beneath a phantom sword forged in fate, at the mercy of bleeding images - fallen kingdoms, rotting hearts, vines that ensnare, doomed lovers, armies laid to waste, distant worlds, burning heroes and vengeful Gods more ancient than the trees.

I have tried to escape them through the depths of slumber, but their voices scream louder, the vines strangle tighter, when sleep befalls me. Dreams lace over my brain like tendrils of cobwebs, spreading like veins - a murky, cosmic veil that is sheer enough to see the outreached hands of the ones I have lost, the paths I could have taken, the thick weaves of fate that I can only hope to rethread.

A primeval voice whispers to me in the morning mist of the garden, “Delicate flower, do your roots climb upwards around your neck? A thousand pasts, a thousand fates. Sleep. Sleep”, as I tend to the rose bushes as if they were a fatal wound, my hands torn up from their thorns. Beginnings and ends, fear and grief, pour down heavily upon me until I am drenched with blood, and for what purpose? Am I not cursed just as I am blessed?

Azriel never intended to give the necklace to Gwyn, he later tells Clotho to give it to any other priestess, he gave it away anonymously and the most important point? Nothing suggests Gwyn received the necklace.

Whenever they make a claim (e.g. Gwyn is Azriel's mate), ask them where in the book this happened.

When you point out Azriel's shadows react to everyone and when they retreat, it's when he's happy and with people he loves

When you ask them to show you where Gwyn shows interest in Azriel

When you show them in the book the exact sentence where Gwyn blushed at Rhysand

When you say the necklace was bought with Elain in mind

“Am I supposed to deny,” he drawled, but something sparked in those eyes, “that I find you attractive?”

The moment Azriel and Elain finally share their first kiss, I just know the world around them will go completely still.

Their chemistry is already something else, and there’s something so beautiful about imagining the two of them finally giving in to what they’ve wanted for so long. I picture it beginning slowly, almost carefully, like neither of them wants to rush something they’ve waited so long to have… and then, little by little, all that restraint simply melts away and the kiss grows warmer, deeper, impossible to resist.

elain should be with lucien but should beg for forgiveness before they get together.

azriel should be with gwyn because he deserves better than elain and gwyn is more worthy.

like these are both frequent talking points of gwynriels and eluciens and it genuinely baffles me how they cannot see such blatant sexism.

you do not have to be unflawed to be worthy of love. you should always strive to do better and apologise where you must, (both of which elain has done), obviously but these are things we should be doing anyway because we're human.

being worthy of love isn't a number above your head that deducts a point for every mistake you make. that's ugly thinking.

when characters are flawed it makes for better story. nobody adores katara or katniss or diana of themyscira because they were immediately perfect??? that's so boring i am yawning. why do i give a fuck if someone is perfect. what story is there left to tell.

give me elain archeron with all of her cowardice and all of her kindness. i want to see her meekness and the agency with which she grows. i want her to throw duty to the wind and own her defiance.

“For a moment,” he says, “I wondered if it wasn’t you shooting bolts at me.”- I make a face at him. “And what made you decide it wasn’t?” He grins up at me. “They missed.”

Happy Elriel month everyone! We are finally getting more Elain and Az content this year 🥹 I'm anticipating a lot of yearning and angst between these two in book 6 so I wanted this commission to capture that feeling. In this piece, Elain and Az can't help but reach for each other as they pass in a corridor. Between their charged glances, words left unspoken, and brushing of hands - they are the ultimate yearners and I'm so excited to see where their story goes 💙🩷
