Chapter 5 spoilers (its probably fine to post it no spoilers by now I'm just making sure)

So, in deltarune we have the light world and dark world right? For explanation purposes, the dark world has a light value of -1 and the light world has a value of 1. Based off of this, total darkness in the light world (like if you sat in a completely dark room) would be 0. This is the balance of light and dark. When you are in the light world, you see things as they are, because there is light so you can see. But as it gets darker, things get harder to make out, a chair suddenly resembles something scary, and doesnt look like a chair that much anymore.

As we go darker than dark, we get the dark world, where no light reaches and your mind starts to fill in the blanks, turning objects into living beings. This was all explained by Ralsei in chapter 3. But what if we could go lighter than light? That is the world we live in. An existence higher than the world of Deltarune. As Spamton called it, [HEAVEN]. If the light world is 1, our world is 2. This has already been covered by someone else. But that doesn't add up. If there were two worlds of light, then the singular dark world wouldn't balance it out. One could say that just means the knight is trying to keep the balance instead of ruin it. But I have a more interesting idea

We need to go dark, darker, yet darker. (Pun intended) A world where not even your brain can make out anything, and so everything goes dark. This is the -2 in the equation. This is where I believe Dess could be stuck. Gone in the deepest depths of the old dark world Asgore talked about, she ended up in The Void. Or as we see it, The code of the game. Hidden in the code we see unused dialogue, presumably from Dess, about being stuck in a dark void, which backs up this theory.

This is also presumably where gaster resides. In entry 17, he says "Dark, darker, yet darker" so he may have been knowingly (or unknowingly) experimenting with dark worlds, and accidentally sent himself even further, beyond the dark world, when he fell into his own creation.

This void, the core of the game is probably also where our vessel is. So maybe in a part of a future chapter, when Kris joins the evil gang to start the roaring, Gaster puts us in our old vessel and we escape the void together with Dess? (Honestly that would be a sick idea for a chapter 7 opening)
