We were so enthralled by this leaf on our walk back from dinner last night

Catalpa sp.

Catalpa is the anglicized version of the Muscogee Creek/Mvskoke word for the tree.

The Mvskoke were one of the nations forcibly displaced in the trail of tears from georgia/alabama to what is now called oklahoma.

That's quite a nice variety of species. Looks like Persicaria virginica, Plantago major, Polygonum aviculare, a couple grasses, and some other stuff I'm not 100% clear on.

Persicaria virginiana has very broad leaves—I would guess P. maculosa (spotted lady's thumb), which has the red dot and narrower leaves.

The other IDs I agree with, including Lepidium didymum (lesser swine-cress) for the one with those adorable lacy leaves.

Bottom right: my best guess is some species of violet :)

Spruce (Picea sp.)

Best guess: white spruce or Norway spruce (Picea glauca or Picea abies)

#spruce has distinctive scaly bark and cones only on the top 3rd of the tree #white and norway based on other plants you have posted which narrow down your location and based on length of needles and cones #can't get a very good look at the cones though #which is why I'm emphasizing that I am guessing!#plant ID is very location based and the markers that tell similar species apart can be very subtle
