Having to tell people directly what you need and want from them is actually an unavoidable part of healthy adult communication, not a sign that your friends or partner don't genuinely care about you. So stop waiting for people to read your mind and learn to speak up.

resident good guy once you get to know him he’s just kinda shy around new people

if i don’t periodically remind myself that there are a LOT of other ppl in their 20s who currently do nothing at all but lie in bed and type on various different screens all day then i start having heart palpitations 

there is nothing innate about men that prevents them from competently cleaning

when people say things like “he’s a guy so any cleaning he does is ‘guy cleaning’” they mean “lower your expectations because men are slobs.” but women aren’t inherently neat (messiness is definitely a trait i have), and this just lets men off the hook when they don’t do domestic chores competently. it’s all social all the way down.

this also goes for cooking, and childcare, and and and

i was forced to watch this movie at the dentist while they pulled out four of my teeth. most painful experience of my life. it turns out the roots of my teeth were stuck to my jawbone and that’s why the anesthetic didn’t really work. i fucking hate this movie
