@asdfbird I hear your query and my answer is a headcanon my good friend Ctj and I came up with years and years ago: that the ship was his father’s, and Linebeck is named after IT, not the other way around. Would probably do numbers on his self esteem if his dad was a competent sailor and/or vain about it

Wind Waker Link is chipper and fun despite the circumstances,. By the time Phantom Hourglass rolls around he’s a moody teen who hates his bickering parents and just wants to be left alone
