All to the dogs

Best of breed at NACA (Northern Alberta canine association) and her Novice rally obedience title!

I asked my show mentor, breeder, and absolute trusted friend if any of the working dogs group worked. The answer was "likely no." This is extremely funny in the irony but also so very depressing. These dog are supposed to be working dogs but are just bred to look like it. Can we even call them that breed if they cannot even do their original purpose anymore? Are they just "wearing" the breed? I feel that there should be no divide in working and show lines. I know for one my Siberian can complete the job her ancestors did. But how can we look at border collies from working lines and show and call them the same breed. I personally cannot comprehend this and it makes me so angry inside. What is this all worth if we're just creating dogs that look like the breed but will never be the breed.
