on july 15, 2026, i received the news that one of my closest and oldest friend’s older brother, achilles, had died. at the time of posting this, his death is currently being investigated by police, so i will not be sharing too many details for the sake of not interfering with an ongoing investigation, as well as to maintain the privacy of the family, but know this: achilles was an amazing person who did not deserve to have his life taken from him so young. nobody does, but especially not him
he was a wonderful brother and friend. before he passed away, he was getting involved in drag, going by the name chapel damnation on stage and to his community. his community has already helped support his family immensely during this difficult time, but there is still more that needs to be done. funeral costs are higher than they have ever been, and his family is currently being burdened with trying to pay for it all on top of the immense grief they’re going through
i know this isn’t the kind of post i normally make, but this is an incredibly hard time for the queer community in the united states, made even harder by the loss of such a valued member of it. i’m calling on my little online queer community here to help lay achilles to rest. his family has set up a gofundme asking for just $8,000 if any of you are interested in donating.
