Tacos at Tacombi

Tacombi, the popular taqueria known for fresh and authentic Mexican fare, just opened its fifth location at the bottom of the Empire State Building. HungryEditor was lucky enough to sample some of the restaurant's most popular dishes while sipping on some pretty tasty margaritas. Of course that meant we started off with some very fresh guacamole and crunchy chips. Next, we sampled some of their Corn Esquites, made of corn cotija cheese and chipotle mayo. We might have sampled more than one of these. Ok we had three! If you go, this is a must order! Then we had some amazing Tuna Tostada with sliced avocado and morita. We were already getting pretty full at this point, but we were here for the tacos of course, and there were tacos to be had! Our favorites? The Black Bean and Sweet Potato tacos were something we'd never had before, but they will definitely be our on list to order again on our next visit. The Crispy Fish Tacos were just the right amount of crispy and definitely fresh. The homemade poblano mayo topped it off to perfection. Finally, we rounded out our taco gluttony with the Barbacoa Taco, which is made of slow-cooked angus beef. All of the tacos are made with the restaurant's signature homemade vista hermosa corn tortillas, which you can see them making freshly right there in the restaurant. The ambiance is laid-back with the vibe of its beginnings on the Yucatan Beach where Tacombi first began.
The newest Tacombi is located at 23 West 33rd Street, New York, NY 10118
