Can I just gush about how much I love your sense of style for a moment? I love more than half of the stuff I see you wear at events – especially that lovely emerald dress you wore at the Vanity Fair party earlier this year! Thank you so much! That truly means the world coming from you. I loved that dress. I’ve spent the last five months in loungewear so I’m excited to be getting back to work so I can wear fun clothes again, even if it’s just lots of signature red for my role on Riverdale. How’ve you been? What are you up to?

Thank you, love. It doesn’t even feel like our doing at this point. It’s all in the fans’ dedication that keeps the power live and strong. Certainly not my IG stories that’s doing it lately.

I don’t know what it is lately, but I’ve been wanting s’mores everything. Particularly the s’mores frappuccino at Starbucks. Pretty positive this goes against all no sugar rules in the book, but it’s just so, so good, how can someone resist the marshmallow, chocolatey goodness?

I try to maintain a very healthy lifestyle, but I say go for it. It’s never a bad idea to treat yourself. 

I am one of those people that will read the whole IMDb trivia page whilst watching a film or TV show, because clearly just enjoying the thing itself isn’t enough for me, I love hearing about the behind the scenes. And today I was reading about the X Files episode that’s regarded by almost everybody as the worst, including the director of the episode. He hated it to the point where he had t-shirts printed for everybody afterwards with the episode title and “survivor” written on them. I can’t get enough of hearing things like that. Give me behind the scenes trivia all day every day, please. @hollywoodland-hqs​

Tell me more, tell me more. I never watched the X Files but I’m intrigued by an episode that is hated by everyone. That’s wild. I’ve got behind the scenes trivia for days from working on Riverdale. In the Season One finale, my co-star KJ Apa had to punch a frozen lake in order to rescue my character and he actually broke his hand. He was punching a foam mat that was sitting on ice and he just got too into it. 

I was on a video call with some college kids, all well-rounded individuals in their right mind and ready to start off the fall semester. A complete juxtaposition to the guy they were talking to, right? They say opposites attract, so it hurt when they only showed true excitement and a sparkle in their eyes when they saw my dog. I’m thirty-eight next week, okay? Two years until the end of my life, so I’m looking for advice on how to trick people into thinking I’m cool again before it’s too late.

I think it’s time we just all admit that our dogs will always be cooler than us. Somedays I’m convinced that my dog Olive is the reason I have so many friends. Happy early birthday though! What are your plans to celebrate?

I don’t know if Kairi needs more people to judge my lack of creativity with! That doesn’t sound fun for me. The idea of if two pairs of puppy dog eyes looking at me like that makes me sad, and feel like I should never try writing again.

I wouldn’t be judging you, just Olive. Maybe I could inspire you in some way. Maybe Olive and Kairi would just get together and be too distracted by each other to judge us. No, no, you shouldn’t be sad and never write again. I was only teasing.

Am I the only one getting overly involved in what’s happening around me? Whenever I see a kid falling down I can’t help but have a little heart attack. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to survive fatherhood. I’m not going to be a father, this sounds like I’m announcing something, I am not. All I have to announce is that I could potentially become a professional baker after this, breads have no more secrets to me.  @hollywoodland-hqs·

Whenever my dog walks too close to the pool I freak out a little bit. She’s too tiny to just go for a swim on her own and I need her to stop giving me a mini heart attack! I feel like I’m a full-time mom to my dog, but yeah, caring for an actual child scares the shit out of me. A professional baker? Tell me more, tell me more.

It’s absolutely mad to think about the last ten years of my life, but of course the entirely of today was a reminder of how it all changed for me. Beyond mad, honestly, the way time flies by so quickly. Listen, gonna catch me gettin’ all sentimental over here. If I shed some more tears, do forgive. Congratulations on 10 years of One Direction, that’s just, wow, mindblowing. It’s such a testament to your work that you’ve still got fans losing sleep waiting for something new to be announced. You guys have so much power. How do you do it?

I think my dog is getting sick of listening to me on my guitar and my piano. I’ve been constantly just working on new music. Well, trying to. I’ve yet to come up with something that I stick with or actually like. But I’ve been trying to, a lot. So many melodies, so few lyrics. Writer’s block can be a dick, huh? If you’ve got any suggestions on how to work through that, send ‘em my way before I resort to just recording a holiday album like everyone else. @hollywoodland-hqs​

My dog is definitely getting sick of me talking to my camera or my phone all day. I think Olive judges me on the daily. We should get our dogs together so they can have a judging party. I’ve got to give musicians so much credit, I don’t know how you do what you do. I get tired halfway through a musical episode of Riverdale, but you guys are just pretty much non-stop. Everyone loves a good holiday album, but I’d challenge you to write a few new Christmas songs.
