I'm uncultured and don't know any of the characters not in the corners LOL, may you share why they are foolish coded :3
(also i know this is from a twitter meme but I love these kinds of posts, they just feel so ~og tumblr~)
top center: Clawdeen Wolf from Monster High. A werewolf that comes from a big family and is very loyal to her friends. She's also pretty sporty. The only big difference between her and f is that she is very into fashion (...but maybe if he was a girl)
middle left: Nick Miller from New Girl. Partially put him bc his love itnerest is Jess who is very tina coded (whimsical teacher) but he's also a goofball and can be bad at expressing himself (so very foolish lol)
middle right: Tetia From Witch Hat Atelier. Super bubbly and friendly. She's very welcoming to the main character of the series and it reminds me of foolish making people feel welcome. And she has some fun spells that I think he would enjoy
bottom center: Big McIntosh from MLP Friendship is Magic. He is close with his sister (applejack) and very mellow. He also doesn't talk a lot which I feel like fits foolish more off stream from what we've heard
Hubby bullying wifey 😭
Foolishgamers: A whimsical goofball
lobby was so good :((((

Yeah maybe it’s just a difference in mindset thing, bc you’re right, we are all gonna die, but it also matters. Mortality does make this topic any less important than anything else we talk about throughout our lives, and the overall quality of life of marginalized people is improved by having these conversations. I’m not sure acknowledging multiple truths pushes anything to the side though, i feel like it more just puts into perspective that these conversations are had by and with people who are also living in the same society and therefore are also victims to it. Awareness of your socialization and how it impacts your choices is a huge part of development, but it won’t make it possible to make a choice independent of that socialization, you will never not know what you were “supposed” to do. I also do feel like a lot of women who don’t shave their body hair make a point to preface that it is a personal choice and in turn a rejection of their societal expectations (“men don’t like girls with leg hair”, “i don’t care, i do it for me”). Which makes perfect sense, even though it’s still a choice bred from socialization, “i was socialized to believe this is what i should do, for some reason that socialization makes me feel something negative (discomfort, anger, insecurity, envy), i learned or realized i don’t have to adhere to standards i don’t identify with, so i choose not to, despite societal pressures and potential judgement”. Otherwise i feel like it’s just “i never would have shaved if shaving didn’t exist”, which isn’t a particularly informed conversation obviously lmaoo. Bc even the idea of “i don’t shave bc im lazy/i don’t feel like it” is influenced by the fact that women have been conditioned to believe it’s something they should be doing, that if they were more diligent, they would shave. The act of explaining why you don’t shave in the first place is unique to women. And a lot of women who don’t shave either feel a need or are directly asked to explain why they choose not to. I just mean being aware of the expectation doesn’t make you free from it, it just might make you more comfortable to go against it.
(Sorry i love conversations like this, no need to continue if you’re over it lolol)
I agree with all of you're points! Sorry I was maybe just a bit pedantic. I think having this conversation irl would naturally lead to this broader topic and then I would have had no problem with it being brought up, it's just the previous ask, in the context of the convo, felt more like a step back. Like, normally, when talking about a topic and someone brings it to that scale, it feels like it's used to remove agency from people, and then free them from even having to acknowledge the system at all.
Bc even the idea of “i don’t shave bc im lazy/i don’t feel like it” is influenced by the fact that women have been conditioned to believe it’s something they should be doing
You hear the same rhetoric around makeup unfortunately. And yet men do neither of these things and no ones says that about them :/
he act of explaining why you don’t shave in the first place is unique to women. And a lot of women who don’t shave either feel a need or are directly asked to explain why they choose not to
Yea it's very ironic to me that a lot of the videos against the "you do not shave for yourself" claim the other side is shaming women, when in reality it is women who don't shave who get shamed irl often. Even online, I have opened up comments to random videos and it's all about some girls armpit hair, when that has nothing to do with the video.
I just mean being aware of the expectation doesn’t make you free from it, it just might make you more comfortable to go against it.
Very true, though there are people who become aware of the expectations, and are first resentful of them existing, and you for making them aware they actively conform. <- Though I've noticed, that is a mentality that's much more common in online discourse
tina according to foolish 😭
As someone who didn’t care about sjm by the time the spinoff books came out (ok I did read acofas but more out of obligation because I didn’t enjoy acowar) I just have to say fuck Nesta fuck the other one they both are terrible sisters. Maybe the spin off books revealed deep inner reasoning but also never once in the series did I enjoy them as characters
quackity sucks
Yes but for a specific reason or did you simply just realise?
Anon?
quackity sucks
