Forever makes me laugh that the only times we see Stiles really interact with animals (when they aren't, like, crashing into the classroom windows or ramming his friend's vehicles) is his total indifference to people's pets. He tells Lydia to kill her dog and hisses at Scott to make Malia's dog shut up lmao. He did say he had a boa one time so maybe he likes exotic animals but just isn't a fan of the classics.
My headcanon is that he just isn't into pets the way Scott isn't into movies. Stiles talks about Star Wars and The Wolf Man and Scott's like "ah yes... moving pictures..." and Scott talks about the cute puppy he vaccinated that day and Stiles is like "creatures... sure..."
