I have no way to really track what 5 songs I have been listening to the most lately so this is just off the top of my head

1 - Snapping - Chung Ha

My friend showed me this music video and now I'm a changed man...anyway I'm now learning about Chung Ha and I.O.I so if anyone has any recs please send them my way (only a little obsessed with her right now)

2 - 2 MINUS 1 - SVT Vernon and Joshua

There is not a Vernon song I don't like. I love him and his music he should make more. And Joshua...exists and makes me happy. Anyway at any given time, you can find me laying on my couch watching this on repeat.

3 - Umbrella - JUNHEE

My friend heard this and immediately knew I needed to see this music video. She was correct. She also says the whole album is fire...I trust her judgement but I haven't listened yet. I will eventually but I'm too busy listening to the umbrella song.

4 - DRAMARAMA - MONSTA X

Doing the performance video for this instead of the music video because they do a shoulder thing in their chorea that I just adore. I was torn between this and Beautiful Liar but this song ultimately won. Can't wait to see Monsta X in October.

5 - Rover - Kai

Everyone behold my friend's ult bias. This is not her favorite Kai song but it is mine. And I love it so so much. Look at this lad go.

BONUS because I do what I want

so i admit i haven't super gone into Chung Ha's music but this song was one of my obsessions 2 years ago when it came out-

also if you somehow didn't know she did a song with Hongjoong-

i need to listen to more of her stuff, clearly

i also have not super gotten into Seventeen somehow but i listen to them at least a little. you might have watched/listened to this already if you're a Vernon fan but if you missed that he and The 8 just dropped this recently, it's been another fixture in my current rotation-

OKAY AND THEN you said you haven't listened to the rest of Junhee's album because of Umbrella but here's the song off the album that -i- have been obsessed with and made it into my top songs for 2025 easily-

also if you haven't listened at all to his group, Junhee is in A.C.E, a group i LOVE that are super underrated so here's some of my favourite of their songs too-

and just for a good perspective on them, their early stuff was pretty experimental and uhhh.... loud? but in a good way, here's their debut song, Cactus-

Cactus era was wild because it was not only their debut but they went on a bunch of the music shows wearing hotpants for their performances which is just honestly a great twist on gender norms with performance outfits, here's one of those-

more male kpop idol groups should be wearing hotpants, i don't know how this didn't set a whole trend because it really should have, what a great opportunity to show off their thighs! A.C.E is forever iconic for this tho. i started with a different performance than this one but then this one had even shorter shorts than the other one so i went with this instead 🤣

anyway i love Junhee and i love A.C.E so hopefully you enjoy all that too! i could have linked more but i both hit the post limit for videos and also didn't want to put in too many things in case they're not your jam (which would be totally fine, i don't judge) but we listen to enough of the same groups that i have a feeling you'll love them too!

also this is basically a tumblr post version of what i regularly do to @poetry-protest-pornography in messenger form where i spam her with mvs and i'm wiling to do this basically any time you can get me going off about one of the groups or singers i like (which isn't hard really)
