The bear is gargantuan, towering over even the largest cave bear you've ever seen. The remains of armor cling to one shoulder, and a human-like intelligence flickers behind its unusually green eyes.

You're not sure this bear is just a bear. You are sure you don't want to get close enough to find out.

Though he saw Shadrach coming, eyes went wide as he was engulfed in the hug and lifted from the ground. Still, he returned the hug as best he was able. Even gave a kiss to his cheek. Shadrach was warm. Were all werebeasts so warm?

Regardless, with Shadrach around, Dalamus felt as safe as could be, despite his situation.

She felt terrible for making him feel this way, but thankfully it would all be over in a moment. Or at least, that’s what she hoped. Her thumb stroked his cheek and she dared a small, tentative smile.

“Actually, it happened while you were still here, but I didn’t know until just a couple of days ago,” she told him softly, knowing full well it probably did little to ease his worries. “But that’s the good news. I went to the healers and they confirmed it, and that’s when I went to talk to Kodlak,” she continued, and the more she spoke the wider her smile grew until she was grinning.

“I’m pregnant, Shad. We did it,” she told him finally, once she felt she had tortured him long enough, and she was positively beaming.

The coldness and worry didn’t wash away immediately. They stayed, in fact, for almost too long, before they were replaced with confusion until finally: joy. Tears sprang to his eyes, slipping down his cheeks and past the bright smile on his face. His eyes were watery with hope and relief.

“We did it? Yer... are ya sure?” Shadrach asked, quietly, almost carefully, as if saying it aloud might erase it from existence. He pulled her into a hug, burying his face in her neck, breathing in her scent fully, before pulling away slightly and resting a gentle hand on her abdomen.

Tindra inclined her head willingly, giving him easy access to her neck, and was barely able to suppress a giggle. “It’s that sort of thinking that got us into this mess, Shadrach,” she said in a quiet voice.

“I spoke with Kodlak while you were away, and he… he’s forbidding me from going out on jobs. He says I can still train the pups for some time, but after that there’s gonna be a full stop,” she told him with an unusual sense of seriousness. “I know you had been looking forward to us going on a hunt together, but I’ll have to ask around some to see if it’s safe,” she added with an apologetic frown as one of her hands came to rest on the side of his face.

The good vibes extinguished almost immediately. The change in tone was like a bucket of water on a fire. Shadrach grew cold, worried, and as much showed on his face. Forehead lined with concern, brows stitched together intensely. He felt a heaviness in his stomach that was a difficult to ignore.

Tindra had looped her own arms around his waist and hugged him back wholeheartedly, but now she pulled back slightly so she could give him a loving kiss. His question earned him an amused huff and she grinned against his lips.

“Depends on how you look at it, actually,” she replied, but judging by the ever-present smile on her face whatever trouble she was in wasn’t very severe. “I’ve got some good news and some bad news, so what is it that you want first?” She asked, stepping back so she could look at him, and let her hands rest on his hips where she gently rubbed his skin through the shirt.

The kiss was returned just as warmly as it was given, and her good mood only enhanced his own. Her answer to his playful question caused him some pause, but the fact that she didn’t seemed troubled at all kept him from worrying too much.
