Despite being born human, it's as if Leondas has never understood his own humanity - even less so once he became what he is now. Only, he misunderstands humanity severely. He only sees the cruelty, the malice, the vengefulness, things that he possesses and cannot rid himself of no matter how hard he tries. He desperately wishes he could lose his humanity entirely and become like other fae - utterly alien and unable to comprehend more human emotions and experiences.
He believes that most of his turmoil comes from humanity - both his own sense of it and the actions of humanity as a whole.
