I keep messaging my friend "DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM"
They dont even know what im talking about. Scoff. I cant believe them.
DOOOOOOOM WERE DOOOOOOMED
DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!! Oh Lord DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I know the guy's probably dead but dang what I wouldn't give to learn more about the guy...
So there’s this huge dudebro in my class, who, yesterday, sat next to me. And I’m sitting there sweating because like… I’m wearing my shirt with the lesbian flag on it, and he’s the most popular jock in school, and always has this look on his face that say ‘I can and will kill you’. He looks me up and down, stares at me for a minute and then goes, “So. Girls in skirts and long socks, am I right?”
To which I nodded solemnly, both out of agreement, surprise and also a healthy amount of awkward fear. He nodded and went, “You get it.”
I said, “Yep.” He fistbumped me, and on went our lives.
Oh! I forgot to mention! I saw him at lunch the same day, and he ran up to me, tapped me on the shoulder, pointed at this super sweet girl who comes to GSA and asked if she’s gay. I told him he should ask her because that’s not my place and he said he would.
I thought that would be the end of it.
Except ten minutes later he came back and told me he found out (she’s bi) and that both of us have a shot. I said “You more than me.” because he’s attractive and popular.
But this wholesome dumbass looked really confused and asked, “Because I’m tall?’
So this isn’t lesbian/jock solidarity but I thought you guys would want to know-
My math teacher was trying to fix the rolling whiteboard and he just offhand said “This would be easier with a wrench”
And deadass, dudebro said “Hang on” and then proceeded to pull a fucking wrench out of his backpack
Update- after school today he saw me in the library and he didn’t say anything? He just pointed at the book he was holding and I gave him a thumbs up because it’s a pretty good book, and he went “Yes!” Really quiet and pumped his fist and then left
Okay so today he asked me if I know how to help people having a panic attack and I was like yeah? And he smiled at me and then went “cool I think I’m having one”
And I was like what the fuck Colin we’re in the middle of Tech class sit down and we went out in the hall and sat there for a while and he told me about the test he’s stressed about so we kind of went over his study guide and when he was feeling better he kind of like… smacked his head against mine gently? And I helped him up even though he’s almost a foot taller than me and yeah
Today at lunch we walked to the football field and laid in the grass and I told him thank you for being my friend (because I don’t have that many) and fistbumped me and said, “You always looked so nice and chill, how could I not want to be your friend?”
And honestly y’all, I would’ve started crying if he hadn’t sneezed and accidentally smacked me
@hellsite-hall-of-fame this is a legendary post

So! This is a perfect case study in situations where you should be wary of misinformation.
Take a moment and ask yourself, a project like this requires a lot of time, money and dedication of resources, why would scientists dedicate that time to something that could just be done by a tree?
The answer is they wouldn't. So that means this claim requires further investigation!
This project is called LIQUID 3, and it's not meant for cities with wide open spaces, it's meant for cities like Belgrade in Serbia. These cities are densely populated and heavily polluted, to the point where pollution actually chokes out current trees and makes creating green spaces difficult.
Liquid 3 was a PhD scientists answer to these problems. The microalgae tank is intended for spaces where you either:
Don't have enough space to plant full trees, or
Don't have enough time to plant trees and wait for them to grow up.
The tank is extremely efficient when you consider the amount of space needed compared to the amount of CO2 turned into oxygen. The tank can operate throughout the winter. And most importantly, it can be quickly set up in areas that desperately need relief from air pollution NOW not in 10 years when trees are done growing. Children currently suffocating on polluted air can't wait for trees to grow, they need to be taken care of now, and Liquid 3 is one of the ways to take care of them. Depending on the species of microalgea used, a number have shown a pretty amazing capacity to pull heavy metals out of the air which is something trees can get choked up by.
The tanks aren't just tanks either! Liquid 3 have solar panels placed on top, they have lighting and mobile phone charging, and they work as public benches. The designers of it want to encourage green spaces where there's room, but where there isn't room or time, Liquid 3 can step in. Realistically, this isn't a replacement for trees. It's replacing boring metal city benches with new, cooler benches that also clean the air (and have at least some heating during the winter).
Not only that, but the microalgea that grows is native to Serbia and all that microalgea has a ton of great uses! It makes for great fertilizer, compost, wastewater treatment, cleaner biofuels and even for helping create new tanks for further air purification. They only require a quick algae divide once a month, and the produced algae can be carted off to where ever it's needed. This makes them effective solutions for areas that can't sustain complex installations.
So yeah, there's actually quite a lot of places that would like these. Lots of people currently breathing in terrible quality air would much rather have their boring city benches replaced with really fucking cool algae tanks that clean the air and can be used to help create + sustain future green spaces in cities. I dunno about you, but I'd take that over a dumb metal bench any day. Put these at every bus stop and I'd be delighted.
can ppl pls reblog this version
Serbian here living in Belgrade! This is all true and I've actually seen some of these around the city a few times. They're amazing at what they do and really cool to watch up close because you can see pretty swirling inside them. It's not only functional but aesthetically pretty nice as well!

living under a rock is so fun i love watching a movie that’s been famous for decades and being like wow this is so good.. did you guys know about this
i love the linguistic trend of expressing something difficult to describe by just not including an adjective where there usually would be one. “i had a day today,” or “he’s definitely one of the characters of all time.”
it’s like i can’t describe this so i just won’t. you get it tho.
the place I work at remodeled these split gendered restrooms into “inclusive restrooms” and never told us what they meant while construction was ongoing. I need you to know every atom of potential criticism or whining that could’ve happened disappeared when people found out this meant we got 10 fully separate private bathrooms with sinks inside. I’ve not heard a single person crack a joke about the inclusive signage. this is the world TERFs are trying to steal from you
This is called a "superloo" and terfs are actively trying to steal this from you, in the UK they changed bathroom regulations to mean new buildings have to prioritise gendered toilets rather than build superloos.
This also upset a lot of architects and designers who like the superloos. They're also typically more like small rooms rather than having doors you can look under.
I have a friend who was strongly against inclusive bathrooms because he felt that “bathroom stalls are already really exposed due to how they’re constructed, so no wonder women don’t want men in the same bathrooms as them” and when I pointed out that we could just… build better bathrooms… with less exposed stalls, he got really quiet and then said “honestly that sounds so much better, but there must be some problem with building them like that, because otherwise wouldn’t we already be doing it?” BESTIE we are. WE ARE. Old-style bathrooms are cheaply made, poorly designed, and all around bad. Haven’t you noticed that men’s restrooms rooms get weirdly sticky? Haven’t you noticed that women’s restrooms end up with giant lines? This is because these rooms are architecturally awful. And we can do better now, because we know more! And we are!!! People are actively designing better bathrooms that address known problems, and guess what: those bathrooms are “inclusive” in the same way that curb-cuts are inclusive. It doesn’t matter if the ramp was built for a wheelchair or a stroller; it doesn’t matter if the bathrooms were designed specifically for gender inclusivity or just because fall-apart-if-you-sneeze-on-them metal stall dividers with giant ass peek gaps suck. We can in fact improve our built environment to better meet our needs. Stop cutting off your nose to spite your face; stop settling for less just because someone else might also enjoy it.
Seattle's SEA-TAC airport has an all gender restroom that's a row of about a dozen fully enclosed separated little rooms that lock, with a shared bank of sinks and it's great. Love it. Lot of very strange encounters at the sinks, feels odd the first few times! But people laugh it off almost instantly. Because it's not actually a big deal to share a sink.
i love queerplatonic relationships where one of them is aroace and the other isn't. i love when the allo character has a crush that fades over time. i love when they don't care what they are to each other as long as they're together. i love when romance is an option that they don't choose. i love when both aros and allos feel fulfilled without romance or sex.

Emotional Support Sam Russell ™ will help you during moments of stress-induced mental incapacity <3
Do I pick up ''talk with me''-vibes? Awesome! I'm in dire need of talking about nothing. So important question here:
Cats or dogs?
Or, considering your profile picture, frogs?
(Also I have seen a lot of stuff about super girl on your feed? I have not heard of this before? Would you care to inform me?? (I have zero problems with spoilers, so tell me as much or as little as you want please!) Thanks!!)
YAYYY HELLO 👋
first question: probably cats, i do love frogs but cats would be a better pet
ALSO SUPERGIRL IS AMAZING, i would definitely reccomended watching it, supergirl as a character is just so peak and I find it soooo refreshing to see a mainstream female character whos allowed to be messy and imperfect (and also actually look it like obviously the actress is gorgeous but like they still make her look dishevelled), shes also just so fun and ughh I love her so much
Also her she has a great relationship with the other main character (a 13 year old girl whos family was killed by the main villain) there just so sweet and I love them, its cool to see there relationship develop as well because at first supergirl just sees her as an annoyance
Also! Theres various flashbacks to supergirls life on krypton and it a) makes her relationship with krypto (her dog whos shes trying to save cause he gets shot my the main villain at the start) because hes her last remaining bit of her planet after it was destroyed and b) we get a bit of her meeting superman for the first time after shes sent to earth (hes such a sweetheart i really need to watch superman) and her like trying to just to life on earth is really cool and well done
And has lots of badass fight scenes and the ending is really good and the message of you dont have to be nice to be kind or prefect to be good is just 👌
Thabk you for the ask and reading my ramblings lol!
I can confirm, cats are awesome pets.
I gotta say, you do make me very warm for this film! I'm notoriously bad at watching films, but you have my word that I'll try to watch this one!! Also, I have been struggling with that ''strive for perfection but know you won't get there'' mindset :l so who knows! Maybe I'll get new insights :) it seems super interesting, at least. (And good fight scenes and messy characters and bonding in general are always fun :) :) )
Hello, ill send you an ask now since you so kindly sent me one <3
1st how are you doing, how's life
2nd cats or dogs (or frogs lol)
3rd tell me about a peice of media youve enjoyed recently!!
Oh yeay! Hi!!
1: Life has been... Living. There's nothing really good happening, but also nothing dramatically bad. Feeling a bit- I'm fighting my brain a lot these days. It's not exactly fun? But it's also not horrible, you know. I'm mostly not a big fan of summer.
2: Glad you asked! The short answer would be both, but the honest one is definitely cats. I love cats and dogs both a lot, but I'm undeniably biased towards cats. Dogs are awesome! But cats are *cats*, you know. Can't top that. As for frogs... I have very few opinions on frogs? I feel like they should feel slimy, but I've never actually touched a frog, so I'm not sure if that's accurate. It's fun when they make a lot of noise in spring?
3: Ah uh hmm. What exactly counts as recent?
The last piece of media I've been really enthusiastic about is a tv series called 'This is not a murder mystery' that aired last November. It wasn't very long, but I really liked it :). It's about a bunch of young artists convening in a mansion somewhere in England for a big art exposition, but then one of them gets murdered. The only ones present at the time are the artists, their host and benefactor, and the house workers. It's a piece of fiction, but a lot of the characters are based on real people; the main character is a young René Magritte, a Belgian surrealist. The title of the series is a nod to one of his most famous works: 'Ceci n'est pas une pipe' ('this is not a pipe'). It's a fun series cause young René has some ✨issues✨, and the story's just fun, and the mystery is real fun, but it's also just really beautifully filmed! With a lot of nods to certain art pieces and stuff, and things that are actually real (or rumored to be real). It was real fun. (It was actually followed up with a mini-docu after each episode that explained a lot of these nods).
More recently, my best friend has been roping me into the One Piece live action (they're a fan of the og manga). That's also real fun! Though I gotta admit, a lot of my enthusiasm for that series is due to the score. The score is really good. And also sometimes funny :)
Reading a book about the psychology of friendship (that, oh by the way, taps the ace and trans communities in its discussion not as clinical categories but by including anecdotes from people in those communities!!) and somehow it encouraged me to quadruple down on saying:
We literally do not have enough friendships. Our culture's obsession with romance over friendship is shockingly new (1850's on) and it is having a serious impact on our health across the board, specifically men. This problem has become sharply exacerbated in the last 20 years.
We need more friendships. We need more friendship in media. "But what if they kissed?" What if they didn't, and the love that was there mattered anyway??? Take my hand. Imagine this with me. A relationship unbound by law or expectation. People who choose one another again and again. To stay in each other's lives when there are no societal tethers holding them together.
Go read Platonic by Marisa G. Franco (PhD).

Online spaces have almost always been where asexual and aromantic people meet each other and organize. This is why the major online campaigns against us around ten years ago were so destructive.
It’s easy to say that cyber bullying doesn’t matter in the real world or whatever but targeted online bullying campaigns have the power to wreck entire communities and support networks.
It’s difficult to just turn off your computer when all the people who relate to this aspect of your life are in there.
I’ve definitely met other asexual and arospec people irl but it’s quite rare. And real life queer spaces are in fact often bars or kink spaces. And like bully for you if you like kink or alcohol or romance but when your entire identity is based around not feeling the feelings often associated with romance and/or sex that’s not always super fun.
And people got relentlessly mocked for bringing up this issue. Shut down. Called childish. Like okay. Fuck us for wanting a sober non sexual spot to meet other queers, right? So childish for wanting options.
I’ve been involved in the online asexual community and doing education about asexuality and aromanticism in both irl and online queer spaces for almost fourteen years now and that short period of time around 2016-2018 took a wrecking ball to my people that I feel like we’ve still barely recovered from and I’m still angry about it.
I think asexual pirates should come back. This time they’re here for your ass. And not sexually.
