I don't agree with the placement of the writing applications in the OOP's tier list. I don't know why Scriven and ellipses are so high either and I've never even heard of ddocs.new.

I don't know what's up with the tirade about open source stuff being overforked. maybe a lot of it is, but that's why I like the old school editors. there's flavor packs and customizations and retoolings, but the classics never go out of style. @emacs-unofficial and I have had support from official maintainers and the community since the first newt swam up on shore and sprouted fingers to blog about it. you can use @neovim-official or @helix-editor if you like. that's your freedom. but old Vim? I'm never getting abandoned, I'm here as long as computers have keyboards. Open a pdf and Firefox, you can scroll with j and k. your obsidian has vim mode in it. vim also supports highlighting, completion, debugging, and (command hooks to) running markdown, css, any other kind of software source code, and you can manage it all with git or any other version control system.

I wrote my undergrad project in vim+LaTeX+git and aced it.
