I feel like Fallout fans are way too taken in by technology

I feel like if Caesar’s Legion had power armor and lasers, people would be making posts like “I know they’re a morally grey faction but ultimately they’d be the best choice for the Mojave”

People see technology as a shorthand for how much a society has “progressed” so even though factions like the BoS are actively reactionary and traditionalist, they see 200+ yr old power armor and think “These people will advance humanity” instead of “These people are Civil War reenactors but deadly”

all i do is play video games incorrectly 

you know a big reason we need fallout games to correct course and return to the Themes is bc its now far too easy for ppl to treat the bombs as the thing that ‘ruined’ society and turn a blind eye how humans band together in the wastes to build something that ultimately is already less dystopic than the pre-war world that left all this destruction in its wake to begin with

x6 finds some cool x-01 power armour and asks danse if he can paint blue hot rod flames on it for him and danse instantly thinks x6 is the coolest person he’s ever met and x6 is like, well i know that bar is exceptionally low for you but i will take that as a compliment anyway
