Over fifty years of data show a peak in PFAS (also known as "forever chemicals") content in seabird eggs in the 90s, followed by a decrease as regulations went into effect. The most recent findings show a 70% decrease of most common PFAS.

While continued vigilance a regulation is needed, this data indicates that regulations are working to reduce PFAS concentrations in marine ecosystems.

Yes!!!! I did a review of literature on PFASs in human drinking water about half a year ago, and there is a lot of really good progress! Please celebrate this, please don't let this solution be forgotten (at least so quickly) as the ozone layer or acid rain.

We are making genuine progress! Producers are dramatically altering how much they use PFAS and how much gets released in effluent, but also there's a lot better understanding of how to remove PFAS from the environment!

I want to keep writing as a very real thing I do, or hobby, but I keep getting hung up on what kind of writing to focus on. Do I journal? If so what kind of journaling? Should I write some essays or nonfiction on a topic that really interests me? Or should I make it a novel? This poem I found is awesome, maybe I should try that...

The thing i love most about knitting is definitely that there's so many ways to accomplish the same results. Continental and English style both make the same fabric, so just do the one that you like best! Are you knitting small stuff in the round? DPNs, short circulars, and magic loop all work fine, just take your pick! Is purling giving you a hard time despite practicing? Try another purling style, or learn to knit backwards! Knitting socks? While toe-up and top-down are the two most popular styles, you can also try heel-out or knit-flat-and-seam socks! There's so many options!

There is not one singular "best needle material" or "best way to tension the working yarn". There is the way that works best for you, for your priorities and your experience.

I think sometimes people find the way that works best for them, and then start yelling about how its the best way to do it and everyone should do it. And while i get where they're coming from -- they figured out an easier way for them to do a hard thing, and they're excited to tell everyone else about it -- I think it also misses a crucial point: we are all different. We all have different bodies and different brains and different histories, and what's easiest for you might be a nightmare for me. The things you like about continental style might not matter to someone else, the things you love about english style might be the reason someone else hates it.

The diversity of Ways To Do Shit is one of the most beautiful things about this craft, and I think people forget that sometimes.

was outside earlier and a bird Came Up, squatted down, fluttered it’s wings at me and opened its mouth like a hatchling begging for food (it was a grown female) so I went and checked the seed cube in the feeder and the thing was completely covered in mold. this is one of the weirdest things that’s ever happened to me. how did she know im the one in charge of the birdseed. How Did She Know To Pantomime Hunger At Me. Hello.

i have spent my afternoon confusedly getting dressed, driving to the store, purchasing a new seed block, driving home, washing the cage, and getting the feeder set back up. i don’t take this much care for my Own nutrition. ive been bullied into a grocery store run by a tufted titmouse. i feel so loved
