many things to hate on about star trek: picard but one that will always piss me off is the second season where they decided that admiral jean-luc picard being one of the most important men in starfleet history not interesting enough on its own so they had to invent a sad family backstory and spend an egregious amount of runtime exploring that instead

If Mora Pol has a million haters, I'm one of them. If he has one hater, then that is ME. And if Mora Pol has no haters, then I am fucking dead.

Kai Winn is wrapped in so many terribly layered flaws and shortcomings, and they all make sense, because even at her worst you can still see the core of her: a frightened and powerless woman who begged the prophets to grant her guidance and strength through suffering, and who was ignored and looked over at every turn, pushing her to seek power of her own volition, clinging to whatever she can to make her feel strong and in control.
