I must say that I had read a lot of reviews about it that were against it in a heavy way and called it a total crap, so I hadn't started with the best prospects, but after seeing it I have to agree with these other reviews but highlighting a small note: it's not a masterpiece and you can well spend your time behind other series but some things (just a couple) saveable there are: costumes and settings that are really well made and well cared for.

For the rest is a huge no: the plot is quite basic and without important twists and / or thickness, there are no dialogues or phrases really memorable or that I can make you say "wow", "wow" or similar. It's a series in which the role of women is central but this card is not exploited enough.

Directing, photography and acting are not the best, especially the latter: I understand that the whole cast is made up of newcomers to the acting world but some characters, especially female characters, are really bad at acting and have little expressiveness.

Although you talk about magic and witches, very little has been seen of the former: the few special effects used are not of great impact, but I must admit they are good ... the characters are anonymous and no particular note on their characterization.

The music is totally wrong for the historical period and used in a very wrong way.

A very current series, especially given the theme that characterizes the dramatic part of the story.

Interesting plot that makes intelligent use of the various elements of Norse mythology and makes really nice quotes, first of all the name of the city where the events take place: Edda.

The acting and directing seemed discreet to me and the story's evolution was slow and uninvolving at times. The characters could be characterized and deepened a bit more.

I admit I'm a fan of the vampire genre, but I'm really disappointed in this show. The screenplay is sometimes at the edge of the surreal and of a really mediocre technical and artistic quality, especially for being a netflix product.

Each episode has its own dose of banality and already seen: little action, surprises and a story all too fragmented and without depth. On a narrative level I found an approximate way to propose problems and personal dramas that are solved in a few minutes without any attention to the emotional development of the characters and without giving space to logic, put completely in the background in an interweaving of conspiracies and contrasts. There 's everything stops on the surface, do not give depth or emotional depth and the characters are not credible and in several places almost ridiculous in their behavior and their actions.

Very disappointed by Ian Somerhalder rather static in his interpretation, despite being a scientist does not seem animated by a great rationality, hardly ever realizing what is happening around him before having to deal with some kind of emergency ... not to mention the acting ...

Premetto che sono una fan del genere vampiri ma questa serie mi ha parecchio deluso. La sceneggiatura a tratti é al limite del surreale e di una qualità tecnica e artistica davvero mediocre, specialmente per essere un prodotto netflix.

Ogni episodio ha la sua dose di banalità e di già visto: poca azione, sorprese e un racconto fin troppo frammentato e senza spessore. A livello narrativo ho trovato un modo approssimativo di proporre problemi e drammi personali che vengono risolti in pochi minuti senza alcuna attenzione per lo sviluppo emotivo dei personaggi e senza dare spazio alla logica, messa completamente in secondo piano in un intrecciarsi di cospirazioni e contrasti. C' é tutto si ferma sulla superficie, non danno spessore o profondità emotiva e i personaggi risultano poco credibili e in più punti quasi ridicoli nei loro comportamenti e nelle loro azioni.

Molto delusa da Ian Somerhalder piuttosto statico nella sua interpretazione, pur essendo uno scienziato non sembra animato da una grande razionalità, non rendendosi quasi mai conto di quanto sta accadendo intorno a lui prima di dover gestire qualche tipo di emergenza....per non parlare della recitazione....

Una serie molto attuale, soprattutto visto il tema che caratterizza la parte drammatica della storia.

Trama interessante e che usa in modo intelligente i vari elementi della mitologia norrenica e che fa citazioni davvero carine, in primis il nome della città in cui si svolgono gli eventi: Edda.

La recitazione e la regia mi sono sembrate discrete e l'evolversi della storia a tratti l'ho trovato lento e poco coinvolgente. I personaggi potevano essere caratterizzati ed approfonditi un po' di piú.

Premetto che avevo letto molte recensioni a riguardo che le davano contro in modo pesante e che la definivano una schifezza totale, quindi non ero partita con le migliori prospettive; ma dopo averla vista devo concordare con queste altre recensioni ma mettendo in luce una piccola nota: non é un capolavoro e si puó benissimo spendere il proprio tempo dietro ad altre serie ma alcune cose (giusto un paio) salvabili ci sono: i costumi e le ambientazioni che sono davvero ben fatte e ben curate.

Per il resto é un no enorme: la trama é piuttosto basilare e priva di colpi di scena importanti e/o di spessore; non ci sono dialoghi o frasi davvero memorabili o che ti posso far dire "wow", "caspita" o simili. É una serie in cui il ruolo delle donne é centrale ma questa carta non viene sfruttata abbastanza.

Regia, fotografia e recitazione non sono delle migliori specialmente quest'ultima: capisco che l'intero cast sia formato da new entry nel mondo della recitazione ma alcuni personaggi, specialmente femminili, sono davvero pessimi a recitare e hanno poca espressività.

Benché parli di magia e streghe, della prima si é visto ben poco: i pochi effetti speciali usati non sono di grande impatto, ma comunque devo ammettere essere buoni....i personaggi sono anonimi e nessuna particolare nota sulla loro caratterizzazione.

Le musiche totalmente sbagliate per il periodo storico e usate in modo sbagliatissimo.

Questa é una seria piuttosto carina che non mi é dispiaciuta per niente, i personaggi sono classici ma interessanti cosí come la trama.

La fotografia davvero molto bella e ben curata e la regia molto buona. La recitazione idem.

This is a pretty nice series that I didn't mind at all, the characters are classic but interesting as well as the plot.

The photography is really very nice and well taken care of and the direction is very good. The acting as well.
