and what they do when you cry during sex

Kate Bishop

Kate would panic for approximately 0.7 seconds.

The moment she realizes you're crying, everything stops. “Hey—hey, what's wrong?”

She's immediately cupping your face, searching your expression for an answer. Kate's usually pretty energetic and playful, but she becomes incredibly gentle when she thinks she's hurt you.

She'd ask before touching you again, probably three times. “Do you want me to stop?” A pause. “Or should I…you want me to just hold you?”

And if you nod, she's pulling you against her chest without hesitation. She’d feel brief relief once confirming that the tears were simply from overwhelm, and not because she’s hurt you in some way. But that relief would of course take a back seat to making sure you’re wholly okay.

“I’ve got you, baby. I’ve got you,” Kate would whisper over and over whilst holding you tightly, not even thinking about restarting anything until you were ready. And if you wanted to call it quits for the night entirely? That would be perfectly okay with her too.

Yelena Belova

Yelena notices immediately.

She'd stop and study your face for half a second before her entire demeanor softens. “Hey. Look at me.”

No teasing. No assumptions. Just that incredibly steady gaze. She'd wipe your tears away with her thumb and ask quietly:

“Are you hurt?”

If you tell her no, she doesn't automatically assume everything is fine. She’d push just a little. “Then why are crying?”

And when you explain that you're simply overwhelmed, emotional, or that everything suddenly feels like too much, Yelena would understand. She'd pull you against her and kiss your forehead. “Okay,” she’d say. “You are safe.”

Honestly, she'd probably become ridiculously cuddly afterward. You'd wake up later with Yelena practically wrapped around you like a human blanket.

Natasha Romanoff

Natasha would be the calmest.

The instant she noticed the tears, she'd stop. No startled reaction or frantic questioning.

Just a quiet: “Hey.”

Her hand would come up to your cheek. “Talk to me.”

Natasha is particularly good at reading subtle body language, so she'd probably already have a pretty good idea whether you're frightened, hurt, overwhelmed, or simply emotional. And if you tell her you're okay? She'd still make you take a moment.“Okay. Then just breathe.”

She'd guide you through slowing your breathing, keeping eye contact the entire time. Only when she's certain you're comfortable would she ask whether you want to continue—or simply lie there together.

And if you choose the latter? Natasha would be perfectly content with that. She'd tuck you against her chest, stroke your hair, and quietly say: “You don't have to be embarrassed.”

Because she knows exactly how vulnerable it feels to cry in front of someone.

Valkyrie

Valkyrie initially looks completely bewildered.

“Wait. Are you crying?”

She'd immediately stop, though. The teasing disappears as soon as she realizes you're genuinely overwhelmed. “Hey, hey, what is it? C’mere.”

She'd pull you against her and let you hide your face against her shoulder if that's what you want. And because she's Valkyrie, she'd probably try to make you laugh once she's certain you're okay. “You know, for the record, I was not aware I was that good.”

You'd probably smack her shoulder.

“What? Too soon?” A little grin.

Then she'd kiss your forehead and settle back beside you. “Take your time, sweetheart.”
