forget the discussions around AC and humidity factor and brick houses holding heat. the point is that this ISN'T NORMAL for the UK's climate. we are supposed to be a temperate climate!!!

oh summers where you are have always been 30-35°C? congrats, sounds like that's the climate your area is SUPPOSED to have! the UK is not!!! spring temperatures usually range from 7-16°C. the normal range of summer temperatures in the UK are supposed to be peaks of 18-20°C. it is not even summer yet, and it is 30°C.

temperatures that were once extreme outliers are now becoming commonplace and our infrastructure is not equipped to deal with this. our houses, town layouts, our roads. much of our public transport infrastructure becomes unusable at these temperatures because the rail tracks are not stressed to withstand temperatures this high.

and our ecology is not equipped to deal with it either. our riverbeds are drying up. both droughts and flash flooding events are beginning increasingly common. wildlife is struggling. the UK government commissioned and then tried to bury a report that stated by 2030 we are likely to see mass crop failures.

We consider an AU version of a canon character to be visually distinct from the source canon character as long as there is at least one notable visual change to the original design. Extremely minor detail changes, such as tweaks to just eye color, do not qualify as acceptable modifications. Please see the following non-comprehensive list for examples of valid changes:

Changes made to the outfit and/or hair (length, style, or color). This includes adding clothing and/or hair if the character lacks it canonically.

Changing the character’s species, character type (e.g. human/humanoid to feral/anthro), and/or gender. Changes made to the character’s gender must include modifications to the visual design. If the character has multiple canonical forms and/or outfits, you may not upload any of them unmodified as they are still considered canon.

Swapping the color palette.

Adding prominent/noticeable scars and/or tattoos.

Adding mobility aids and/or prosthetics.

Multiple minor modifications (e.g. eye color + small, visible scars).

Thank you for providing your feedback regarding our rules as requested in a previous newspost in late May. We have finished processing the feedback, and have made the following adjustments to the rules:

Tracing and guidelining for posing help/referencing are now allowed on Art Fight, with restrictions.

The rule relating to DNIs (“Do Not Interact” lists) has been reverted. Only age-related DNIs are allowed.

Photobashing and collaging are now allowed to be used in attack and character image backgrounds, as well as in tracing, guidelining, and visual referencing resources. Characters whose designs are comprised of photobashed or collaged elements will continue to be disallowed.

I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.

The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.

Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.

A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:

Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.

Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.

Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.

I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.

It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates.
