“How old are people in most government seats right now?” <-!!!! THIS!! People don’t fully digest THIS! MANY many people in the most powerful positions in government WERE alive to hate MLK. They were building early political careers in opposition to the Civil Rights movement, actively oppressing Black people in lower positions of government, fighting to keep segregation alive, etc. And they’re STILL doing it!

As I’m reblogging this there’s a approx +3 each age from when it was posted in 2020…still very recent. Still not as long ago as some want you to believe.

i think deciding to love someone continually is like reading the same book again, but each time finding a different line that hits deep and makes you think about something you didn't realize before. and you decide to read it again and again, knowing you'll never get enough of it, knowing you'll always find something new about them to love.

you know what? accents are actually lovely. like you can learn all the languages in the world and you still have a part of your own with you. that’s cute
